GDC talks are great even f i don't get 90% of what they're talking about sometimes. there was one for physics and rigid bodies blending for animation in uncharted 4

The game did get me thinking about writing an essay of sorts about information gaps between player and characters in stories, and the feeling of helplessness it can lead to

and that we're usually given information that the characters themselves might not have access to until much later

Meta-narrative information
And the other is information the player gets shown that the characters do not see
As well as information the player deduced while the characters did not
The first is fine and inherently not a problem
The second requires careful handling
The third one is where frustration happens the most

I noticed on repeated playthroughs that there's some information the player gets specifically because they have an outside perspective of the events
the characters either don't pick up that something was important because of another distraction or they just aren't in a position to see something that's right next to them
