I kind of think recent systems have done a much better job of flexible storytelling than D&D. D&D takes a lot of DM effort to avoid it being just a series of fights with cut scenes in the middle.

Well, and they did a good job putting a fairly normal action anime world around him too, that largely either ignores him or misses him solving every problem. That's really what makes the contrast. If everything was wacky jokes it wouldn't be as funny.

I always found the fault of the combat in DnD mostly being a fault of the DM. If all the fights are just fights in a empty flat rooms with generic mobs who only run in a straight line it can be a slog

I just think there are so many rules for combat / equipment / etc. and then non-spellcasters can stab or maybe do one class thing, and spellcasters play "Well, what if I need this later?" and also stab.

You can run Hades from the Epic Games\Hades install directory, I do it all the time (though not because of any issues with the launcher)

Just choose either the x86 or x64 folder (corresponding to your OS being 32- or 64 bit respectively) and then launch Hades.exe from there

One more thing - have you tried installing via the browser rather than the launcher?

You can login while looking at the Epic Games store in browser and then attempt to install from there. It may not be a fix for your launcher, but hopefully it can be a workaround while waiting for a response.

I use a steam and a xbox one Controller. The so if I have guests over no one wants to use the steam pad.

You need to get used to the steam one. On the long run I for myself even prefer it now but I would rather recommend the xbox one to anyone.

It is overall a really good controller. Handling sweatiness button layout

Yeah I picked up a rockcandy controller for cheap and it’s held up pretty well for a few years. The only thing of note is you may have to download and manually assign the official xbox drivers to it, since they didn’t seem to connect to one another automatically

it could be that kb + m is always universal, whereas controllers have different face button naming schemes for the same thing which can make things confusing

I don't think saying the keys are the same but the controls are different really works as an argument, since the "keys" on a controller are also always the same (for a given controller) but with different controls per game. But hey, stick with what you're comfortable with, no reason to switch if you don't have to
