but if the trees dont seem to have increasing value items towards the ends then I usually dabble around between several

I guess it also depends what kind of character I'm playing. Personally I like playing sneaky beaky kinds of characters so if there are trees available in games that lend to that playstyle ill usually lean towards them

I think in Hades it really depends. its also suuuper hard to tell when we are bottlenecked into only one area of the game

what i mean by that is since we have less content than one will at full release, the amount of darkness we get to spend on things in relation to how many areas we are restrained too is far larger than it will be on release

so it can be hard to tell

But at the same time, I would say that the mirror gives pretty general perks

the only one that really feels niche to me is the one that gives you extra casts, since people really only use that ability often when they are doing a cast focused build

almost all of the other perks seem to benefit you almost regardless of what your playstyle is

not that its a bad thing, though

I have started playing monster hunter world

In Monster Hunter 4, you would play through the intro, shoot balls at some monster, and then within 20 minutes you'd be on your first mission. On your first mission, the game would ask you whether you needed a tutorial on some game elements, which you could say no to. Here you need to go through this michael bay-esque introduction where you have a bunch of cutscenes and the game sometimes lets you climb up a thing, and then a bunch more cutscenes, and it takes +1 hour to embark on your first mission, then the game throws in these annoying NPCs to do dialogue and explain to you in painful detail some game elements.

Can I just play the video game?

I really don't mind that honestly, mon hun games in the past are notoriously not friendly to new players, whereas mon hun world is the most accessible mon hun game to date with a lot of QoL improvements, such as auto crafting which is a big one imo

It's not just the tutorials that bother me, it's the overabundance of cutscenes

During a segment, two monsters show up fighting each other

Instead of dodging them in the video game

The game plays a cutscene where your character dodges them

the entire point of that intro sequence is to get the base camp

All the last few things I've played other than this would just put you straight in the game

Although Capcom seems to have no idea what to do with gunlance. In Gen, we had this heat gauge. And in World, you have this wyrmstake buster thing, which kind of requires you to dip out of your combo.

if you want a unique "multiplayer" indie experience, I recommend Heat Signature

you pull heists on spaceships, and your characters can get captured, killed, or retire and leave an heirloom that carries on for other characters to find. the thing is, people on your steam friends list can find those heirlooms and captured characters too, and even rescue and play as them
