i don't think sword voice was just in her head? Boxer tries to find other people near Junction's by yelling out and the game world reacts to the volume of his voice. the read i agree with is since boxer is trapped in the transistor along with a bunch of other people her options are rebuild an empty city, or be with the person she loves. Royce might revel in the idea of finally building a city with a permanent face that stands the test of time and might not mind being alone but Red certainly doesn't want that. And after interacting with Boxer and to an extent the other people inside the transistor over the course of the game i don't think she reads it as suicide. They're in a computer simulation anyway right, so what's jumping into one more?

Sybil’s trace was never “recorded”, though, you pick it up as “integrated” after the fight which to me suggests she’s never even touched the Transistor. Someone other than Sybil could have told Royce; Grant and Asher knew a lot of people, some of them probably relatively personally (Niola, Lillian, Bailey?). It was probably one of them... and maybe they warned Sybil it was a bad idea to interact with the Transistor for that reason

My idea of why Red did it it´s because she hated cloudbank mostly, in some parts of her text you can read that her music generated a lot of controversy on the population. She loved the people but don´t really liked the city, so in the end there´s nothing left for her, ruling the city is something empty for her, specially without the people. not even sword boyfriend was there because he is stuck inside the transitor. I´ve seen a lot of people complaining with thinks like "if she was going to SPOILER why didn´t she just let Royce win?" and it´s because Transistor was never a quest of a hero saving the world, it was a story about a lover and her vengeance. Red wanted the camerata dead for what they did to his lover. And, like in every other vengeance at the end there´s only freedom and emptyness, like a singer without a voice, and a city without people or a lover without her/his love. Red is love, passion and sacrifice because Transistor itself, is a tragedy

Theory/hypothesis about where Transistor takes place. Loads of spoilers, for both Transistor and another game called Soma.
||It’s suggested that everyone and everything is made of data. Is the entirety of the events of Cloudbank taking place in a simulation or a datamass, such as what the game Soma takes place in - people who went in for routine scans had their consciousness copied as data and put into a datamass in a satellite that was then jettisoned into space. Soma takes place hundreds or so of years after the real Earth was destroyed due to human intervention.
Is everybody in Cloudbank in there for somewhat of the same reason; after having their brains scanned and coded into data, then planted into Cloudbank, as a kind of haven for what was left of humanity after the world ended? Everything seems to be made out of data, even the people and their consciousness and throughout the game it turns out that everything is falling apart or being deleted, possibly suggesting the datamass they are in is damaged or going through a routine ‘hard reset’?
Or even differently, what if mankind are creating societies in a cloud server, out of random personalities and people that they create?||
My theory isn’t entirely complete or fully fleshed out because I haven’t played the game for a while and don’t have the most firm grasp on lore, but this is what I could come up with.
What do y’all think of this?

you can drag yourself out of Royce's line of fire if you jam a direction while his turn is going off. You move very slowly but you can sometimes pull yourself off his line and avoid shots

Hi guys! I am a little bit confused over Functions and Upgrades. I’ve been playing them for a while but it seems like none of the combos are effective. I searched for some builds online but for now i cant really understand where to put what. Can some one help me making a somewhat optimized build? I have Crash(), Breach(), Spark(), Jaunt(), Bounce(), Switch(), Help(), Mask(), Ping(), Load(). 5 upgrade slots, 1 Passive, 20 mem. Honestly i cant really differenciate bounce and spark. if i remember correctly, overload kills your highest mem function first, but always leaves you with at least one offensive function

so if you only carry one offensive function then it won't take away your best attacking option

tbh I wasn't sure what to expect for that fight, maybe like a wave fight of normal enemies, but nope. SG quite pleasingly subverted my expectations there. The closest thing we'd gotten to a one-on-one up until that point was the SYbil fight so the first time around it came entirely out of left field

It's a top down adventure with 32-directional animations and highly detailed environmental and character artwork, like Hades. But they feel very different to me.

Bounce()passive is good. Remember to stack debuffs. Then hit him with something big. Remember you can move very slowly while he is using turn()

Most important thing: it is acually possible to get 2 turns in a row by using mask.

Transistor is probably my favorite Supergiant Game they've made, I actually made a replica of the Transistor and brought it to a con once

#

The replica is pretty jank to be perfectly honest but it does light up to sound, I had an iPod shuffle that I could turn on and play lines from the game
