Yeah no contest there, pre-order bonuses are BS but I don't think a version bonus is necessarily a bad thing. Pokemon pretty much built an empire on version differences but that's not quite the same comparison.
I can't recall a game off by heart (except maybe Guild Wars?) but I remember when they broke into a new market, the launch bonuses they offered were somehow available to the existing customers. Can't remember the specifics anymore though so feel free to tell me I'm talking out of my butt.

I'm using Linux right now (specifically, Ubuntu) and installed Bastion, Transistor and Pyre (which I'm grateful for the Linux ports :D) and realized that the shortcuts doesn't have their proper icons.
Unfortunately, the .bmp files provided in Transistor and Pyre doesn't have the right transparency.
I know, it hurts to see such beautiful icons with a black background behind, making them squares :(

I recently replayed Transistor again, from the start. I feel that the Spine is really an underwhelming fight, if you picked Cull for your most recent function. It only takes 3-4 hits with it to kill it, and unlike Sybil, it doesn’t have multiple phases.

I think the main feature of the Spine is the intimidation factor. It’s the biggest thing you’ve seen up until that point, it chases you to the arena, it’s on the news, it’s keeping two members of the Camerata pinned down in their hideout. It’s meant to be kind of scary, even its attacks rely on you keeping your distance. But if you keep close on it with functions like Cull and Void, the fight is really easy

Also you’re meant to feel alone when you fight it. Swordfriend was a constant presence up until that point so you never really feel alone despite not seeing any other people around, until you start losing contact with him when the Spine is around.

Played Transistor for the first time on PS4 last weekend (second time in total cuz I played it on PC before) and I highly recommend it! Hearing your controller talk to you throughout the game is hella cool~
Also would like to mention that I'm in a first year coding course right now (we're learning Python), and it only just dawned on me in class this morning how clever the naming system is for the functions in Transistor...I made the connection when we were learning about round() of all things...

Transistor interests me due to the songs essentially telling the story before we unfold the story at the start, in all honesty I wouldn't be surprised if it was a loop due to recursion, and the songs were inspired by the actual events unfolded each time, but the way their incorporated in with the amazing vocals is so rare to find in games, so beautiful!
Tbh I hate and love Supergiant, they make excellent games but they never add continuation or leave us with such a big mystery, but it is marvelous, maybe one day we shall see a prequel or a sequel, or some sort of DLC to Transistor, I hope so, I need some more dank songs :P. Anyways I'm ranting...

This is the closet thing I could get to a analysis to the bones, the story in itself seems bland sometimes but if you look deeper you understand everyone’s motives just a bit more.
It’s a pristinely well done game that doesn’t get enough credit :/ and I’m doubtful we will find many emotionally close games like this coming from other sources. This is why I’ve always loved the small developers
They aren’t running off of some corporations idea of a mainstream game, they though so deep about this one, 😛 I swear Supergiant has a way of sneaking in mastermind plots that are near impossible to understand unless you really dig into it

This is late, but invinc is great if you like to not give up and prevail despite mistakes.
It is very carefully balanced around that recovering after something goes wrong, most notably by a lack of randomised combat.
Transistor doesn't have things like "critical hits" or "miss chances", and neither does invinc.

It's like crit casting auras in pyre same mechanic except im getting more damage im looking for other effects, it also seems to work with switch but that move doesn't do damage at base so I guess you get more charm time?

The screen effect is a blue version of the crit effect from bastion when you crit with the war machete and it works the same way as aura casting in pyre kinda you hit the button again when red flashes before firing
Crash goes from 50 to 75 damage and doesn't increase the weak debuff as far as I can tell
Breach goes from 100 to 125 no increase in knock back
I can't find a benefit to crit shooting switch though it allows you to, if you modified it to do damage I guess that might increase,
the fast moves to come out it can't be done with, I haven't got all the moves unlocked this run yet but I'll keep updating as I find stuff

Also just in case anyone hasn't tried it, modifying Get() with Spark() and Load() is gamebreakingly powerful. Pair it with Crash() modified by Jaunt() and you can crush just about any fight with minimal effort due to the outrageous damage potential of Get ().
Don't use Turn() though.

Despite it looking like you can flood cull and purge cannot be double tap critted at least I wasn't able to get it to come out, if you manage it please tell me
