I am currently grinding for Monarch (~1.3m left), and I'd like to do Roon afterwards (Plan is to use 3 Z destroyers, eugen and deutschland). My highest stage rn is 9-1 which I've just stayed at because I've heard it's good for grinding, and I can do it easily.

I'd like to get together something strong enough for 12-1 and also able to handle opsi corrosion 5 to start farming gold materials.

Mostly I'm not sure what kind of vanguard to put together, though suggestions on backline appreciated as well. Been using Indianopolis, little cheshire, phoenix ( level 100) and non-kai sandy, but I think i should drop the first 3 moving forward, and the last i don't currently have the ability to finish her retro. also have a level 1 vestal, and portland whose retrofit is almost finished (level 100) but my thoughts are to use st louis and roon as main tanks?

My vanguard gear is also terrible, if that matters. Also it would take a while to get a new vanguard levelled up, so I'm not sure if I should just use what is currently levelled to push to 12-1 first?

Based off ships you have for opsi better to stick to 2 fleets and ignore the other 2 available fleets

Yeah you can run nagato hiryuu souryuu and vanguard tosa uni as your 2 fleet backlines and steamroll until 12-1

The main issue is the vanguard ships seem a bit lackluster in comparison

yeah. i also managed to get pretty good/decent gear for my backline, but most of my vanguard is just using whatever guns i can find, not necessarily even things mentioned as 'transitional' lol
