What i like to do is retire all the bad not event affiliated rares and commons
If you do /guide in #bot-spam theres a new players ships guide which lists all the good permanent common/blues that you should try and keep

Could get rid of common build ships like the rares sussex, kent, suffolk, Norfolk, shropshire and the commons foxhound, köln, konigsberg,karlsruhe, oklahoma, nevada, langley, ranger, bogue, crescent, cygnet, comet, bulldog and beagle

i'm planning to remove them once i get the memento items but ya was hoping to remove some of the non-memento ones and wasnt sure which ship is good or not

If you want to grind out higher world fast, none of the commons nor rares are really worth keeping
You could check the guild shop, if there are any ships there you already have you can always get them again if you want to

Also, not sure if you already got it but guild tech has some dock space upgrades
