You also have akagi and kaga and they are quite serviceable for opsi. I personally used em before

Not really. They "suck" means there exists better nowadays but they arent useless

I never personally used zenker for opsi since I havent maxed out her skills yet

Tho honestly with your dock as is, I would probably avoid OpSi for the time being

which are pretty important for a mob fleet

How do you keep the flagship from getting damaged

Kill all the planes and dont let any ships reach the backline

Also when an enemy battleship fires its guns towards the backline, proc an airstrike

Shinano and unicorn fill 2 different roles. Unicorn is for heals and shinano for damage

Shinano also has a crossfleet barrage

I think you can use her if you dont have anyone else but I've never heard of anyone else doing that in recent memory.
