#Loadouts For Vanguard (Read the Description)

This going to be a weird question so please read the description, I will try my best to explain myself.

I want loadouts that can let Vanguard deal as many damage as possible against any armor type of enemies.

Yes I know Vanguard is a supporter and having a bad damage base and she's meant to buff other BBs. But I like Vanguard, I don't care team overall damage, I just want her to be able to deal as many damage as possible, you might say just use any gear you like, but although I don't care team overall damage, I DO want HER deal as many damage as she can.

Usually I'll just read the gear rank and pick the best for each armor type, but this time it seems not as straightforward as usual, especially for medium and heavy armor. Vanguard has a barrage, I can't tell if the fast reload 457 can do better by sheer amount of salvos or 460's higher heavy armor ratio and base damage take the win, and gear rank often do not take 460 into consideration because of slow reload, but as in this case, I only consider Vanguard's self raw damage, so things might be different.

I do have some spare gold plates to +13 460 anyway and just try it out, but gold plates are rare so I do want to save them in case newer and better guns come in the future, so I asked.

Consider this as a Vanguard extreme damage challenge just for fun.

Thanks.

Just a personal opinion.

I do understand the sentiment, it's another way of saying you main her.

I think the community has developed here as a way of optimizing more for the long run, you might have to explore a bit on your own to get to where you want.

In here, there are several tabs at the bottom for different equipment type loadouts and their analysis for each equipment

#

It was mentioned before that Vanguard is a poor base damage dealer, but relatively fast reload for a BB

#

I don't know how you want to build your fleet around that information, but if it's like a solo ship, then you might want a stronger hitting gun

But, if you plan to work around other ships that improve that damage or improve other ships, you might have to look into timing

#

yea, she's quite flexible in terms of either DD or CL gun, and I think they usually pick a CL gun over a DD, but don't quote me on that, it's mainly to deal with suicide ships anyways

#

but you're looking for a BB gun

for secondary CL guns also have more FP which is the main purpose outside of boat interception, there are very few cases of non-USS BBs wanting to use DD guns instead

you said timing was irrelevant, so sam practically picked this for you

in a situation where 457 doesn't get another shot off 460 will do more, assuming the boss you're hitting doesn't have a shield that blocks 460 shots

#

in this Agir dies just before 457 can get another shot off so it it'll be very differerent for different bosses, this was on Souryuu META

#

against light armour it's either Mk7 or Mk6 there's basically no competition

Thank you for your time to test it out for me.

I mean these were expected results, it's just a matter of presentation and also keeping in mind it's always a "depends"

Yeah, too many factors, I just remember there is also reload from fleet tech...

#

bosses with 20s shields can also just completely zero out her damage

#

and there's also the matter of without knowing what your whole fleet is, and how long your vanguards will hold, because if your vangaurds die early then that's another variable to how many shots can go off

This is what my Vanguard can do against current meta (heavy armor I presume) under these conditions:
As flagship, no damage buff skills, battle till countdown ends.
Lv. 125, Oath + 200 affinity.
457, 4x152, ACC AA, AFCT, yellow shell, all +13.
Fleet tech: FP 34, RLD 6, ACC 7.
Maybe this can be a base for test, if someone can do the same thing under similar conditions but change to +13 460, calculate the average for maybe 3 battles, and compare to my 3 battles average, then we can get some idea.
And maybe seek another medium armor enemy to test medium performance.
