for advance mission, you need bbs with good aux guns, normally most bc like hood and us bb are bad at it as they use dd aux gun. just level your bbs, max limit break and use a more suitable aux on them, enhanced ofc
for tactical training just use the correct type: bbs for shelling, carriers for aviation, torp based vanguards for torpedo
for supply line disruption, you need leveled submarines for that, but usually you want to focus your surface fleet so it can wait a little bit
