you usually gear for content
not for ships,
some ships have some preference but it depends where u use em mostly
https://samheart564.github.io/ECGC/equipment kinda explains the best equip within each category but ull have to learn the content to see where u apply it
if u are newbie then u dont rly have to worry much about and just check what poverty options u have
also use https://slaimuda.github.io/ectl/#/home as reference but its not a bible, gearing on the reccs will just not make u have catastrophic failures on equip

well look in sams guide whats good and apply,
when stuff stops working then check what doesnt work or ask here
its a learning process afterall
