#Mentions and talk of political content left ignored in the maintenance channel

I'm not sure if I understand the logic right here. But earlier this morning, there was an incident in which a couple users talked about a political matter and no one seemed to care. If the staff team enforces rule #1 which contains "this includes topics such as politics, religion, acts of violence" as a description, why doesn't the team do so properly, for all involved users equally?

Instead, only one user had their post removed for what was ultimately an attempt to avoid further discussion of such a matter. No idea what mods in particular was involved but that behavior raises some serious doubts and questions about the team as a whole

either you allow discussion of politics and the like or you do not, there are no shades of grey in between

Users you tried to report merely mentioned the issue without going into any in-depth discussion, while you tried to do exactly that.
You can disagree with this judgement if you want, but it is consistent with our enforcement of this rule.

if mentioning a subreddit is a more severe offence than outright mentioning and discussing matters of war, then that judgement must be flawed

No, the offense was trying to continue a discussion you explicitly been told to drop, but you know that since that what's written in your warn already. If you still think it's flawed, you're entitled to that opinion tho.

care to explain the logic behind "attempt to continue" though? when the message itself contained nothing more than the mention of an OUTSIDE source for gathering information, so the user would not feel inclined of bringing up the info inside the server?

Yes, you've been told to not talk about something and then chose to continue to talk about it. It's really simple.

because if that logic is sound, then any and all attempts of referring to rules could also be interpreted as continueing a discussion instead of avoiding or stopping it

If your goal was "just to inform the user about something" after you've been told to drop the topic - you're more than free to contact them in DMs next time.

i chose to refer the user to a place outside the server for the info he desired, i did not in any way mention the topic in question or say anything that would motivate further discussion

#

that is the post which was interpreted as "attempt to continue". i dont know about you but i see nothing that could indicate further need for discussion or anything that would promote such

I cannot make the explanation any more clear than "you've tried to talk about a thing, after being told to not talk about a thing", regardless of where you wanted to point anyone.
So please just refer to my previous message how to handle this situation in the future.
