#Mod power abuse and other issues that need to be addressed

I normally don't care because it's discord and I just like to mind my own business but the business has come to me and it's been made my problem and now I'm going to do something about it

There has been a number of times mods have done things that they clearly shouldn't and think it's fine because they are a mod and probably feel like they are protected and can do these things which aren't ok
It's not 24/7 but just randomly every once in a while

I've been using an emote that's been fine for 1-2 years and now all of a sudden it's a problem only because a mod was having a bad day
I don't remember being told not to use it but if I was it would have been jokingly and all part of the lucas hoony meme and not an official verbal warning not to use it or to change the name
Letting someone think that something is ok to do for 1-2 years and then deciding that you are gonna do something about it only because you don't like the person and it's convenient at the current time to do so is not a correct way to moderate a server and clearly an abuse of power

Other issues include being overly aggressive, swearing at and posting stab emotes
This is most notable to newer people who don't know about trophy rule after posting a trophy
Most mods will give them a reminder that trophy rule is active but some take it too far especially with swearing at them for not reading rules
For people who have been here for a long time know it's just a joke but for newer people who don't know can take it as threatening

Mods telling people to move their convo to offtopic then 2-3min later talking about anything other than azur lane for the next 15min
Sometimes offtopic happens in general which I think is fine and there's also nothing wrong with telling people to move to offtopic but there's nothing worse than being told by a mod not to do something then to have them do it right in front of your face

This one isn't that bad but it's frustrating and a few other people have made comments about this specific issue
A certain mod seems to like using general as their space to trash other people's taste and talk shit about other people (even in front of their face) which is disrespectful
They did the same thing in my server and they pinged someone else that they added to join in so they could trash other people's tastes together and I had 3 people complaining to me about them so I had to kick them
Now they are a mod and I feel they use that to their advantage
I've even had someone somewhat recently DM me that they might collect evidence to report them here

I've worked with someone who has abused their power and to me it's just another form of mental abuse
Fortunately it was only one time for about a year but during that time it was hell and just thoughts of things I wont speak of
And to see that same energy every once in a while here is disgusting
Everyone is built different
Some people can take things like it's nothing and some other people can't
Some people have mental disabilities and one little thing can cause a lot of issues for them

I was personally never warned so far, nor I had any issues like those you mentioned with any of the moderators. Both the admins and mods were always clear to me when I had questions about the server or even things beyond Discord. If you have any problems with them, perhaps try and talk to them about it.

the mods also regularly let people trash on the favourites of others in al-art without consequence, yet will also immediately go after others who've done nothing wrong

There are many clear cut cases of favortism and letting things slide for other users that doesn't slide with others. Also with people letting certain jokes persist when others and/or the person in question has expressed their distaste in the joke many times.

The appeal system is in place specifically to prevent power abuse because the case is then presented before the entire team.
The entire team agreed with the initial warn, then you appealed it, we discussed it, agreed with the warn again and denied your appeal. Then you tried to appeal it again and again got denied. You keep insisting that it's "one mod having a bad day" and I genuinely don't know how to make it more clear to you that this is the entire team's decision.
If you have proof of the claims you're making - you can DM me with those, or OgodeiTengri if you don't trust me. But being warned for spamming emotes with clear inappropriate meaning is not that.
The fact you haven't been warned before means that we've been soft on this issue, and now decided enough is enough. Not that one mod decided to get rid of you specifically.

Everyone knows the emote has nothing to do with sexualising lolis and its just been made to be that to make me look bad
And ofc the appeal isn't going to go through if probably every mod thinks the same thing of me
If enough is enough then I need to be told before being officially warned and not just warned for something that is ok and has nothing to do with braking rules

We don't warn for things that don't break rules, so if you have been warned (and we then kept the warning on appeal), it means it does break rules, nor do we have any obligation to ask you politely to please stop first.

#

(which you have been anyway I'm fairly sure)

If it has been it's been jokingly and part of the meme
I don't remember a time a mod has officially told me to stop
And as I said it's something I've always done and has never been a problem because it's not against any rules because it has nothing to do with being inappropriate

Fair I guess
I don't remember that

You do know Hoony means Horny, correct?

Not really

#

That's just one issue
There's still plenty of issues of power abuse I'll be on the look out for because I guess it's not real unless I can prove it

I cannot act on it without a specific proof.
"Some mod was maybe rude sometimes" is not something we can do anything with. Specific proof means we can look into specific issues and specifically address them.

#

Or bring it up with higher management if issues are big enough.
