It's not explicitly stated in the guidelines post that I saw in the pins, but during my time in this channel, I have seen some indication that if one unintentionally gives advice that turns out to be incorrect, they may be subject to being channel banned. Is this true?

Only if it's clearly intentional or happens often enough for us to have no choice but to assume it's intentional.
Simply being incorrect will not result in a channel ban.
