Seriously you don't want to lock yourself into one faction; just take the best ships you have. That said, this might be tough if these are your only ships

For now you're going to want to get Helena and Unicorn from the guild shop. I'd avoid using too many gold ships right now, as you want to limit break your ships as soon as you can; only invest in the really good ones right away.

Oh wait, you have Helena; then just get Unicorn and start working on her retrofit as soon as you can.

You could replace Helena or starter with Baltimore, but you need to get them to 100 for the beginner quests anyway, so it's good to keep using them

No, gold bulins are a little hard to get early.

I'd probably do King George V, Essex, Saratoga, Portland, Helena, Baltimore as your boss fleet, and Unicorn, Pennsylvania, Phoenix, Laffey, Z46 as your mob fleet.

For now, I'd just do a single fleet until you aren't able to push with that fleet anymore. It lets you get quite a few early levels on your better ships
