@severe falcon I had a exam on that in the 1st uni year
Quick question: 16 gigs + APU only. Makes sense?
@lunar patrol makes the MAX boards kinda useless in that sense doesn't it
well like we went over logic gates and learned how a CPU is theoretically built over the semester, then went into assembly
@tame topaz they divide the 32MB ROM into 2 16MB ROMs but it's certainly not trivial
but there was nothing for the rest of the computer
Interesting
@lunar patrol not really
it's still a 32MB ROM
the most layman way to explain it is how you partition a hard drive
physically it's one storage device
you logically split it into 2
wait like
i'm aware, i didn't mean they physically divide it
is it like the ROM contains the info for how its split?
in any case, even though it's technically feasible to just drop support for older chips, from a business perspective it's fucking terrible to drop legacy support
which is the 2nd time they have done it
cuz they did it to older graphics cards a few years ago
the GN video again goes into great detail about how just bc it's technically possible for enthusiasts (such as everybody here), it's a terrible user experience to have to track two branches of BIOS
and then suddenly had to make a new driver because jsut cause 3 showed how terrible the old driver was
it's really
- two branches of BIOS and anger general audiences
- one branch of BIOS and anger enthusiasts
it's also because AMD doesn't ship the code, diagrams and documentation on how to implement stuff
just the precompiled binaries
it's like "here this is the binary for Ryzen 1st gen, if you want support for it then you add it into the ROM"
with actual source code AIB manufacturers could do some optimization for their boards and reduce the size
AMD AGESA right? is there an equivalent that intel ships or do they actually send source to the board partners
they send source
with a ton of documentation
same for nvidia afaik
and quallcom
its really weird that AMD doesnt
"lets make the only people that can actually make our products usable have a really hard time"
idk what's the name of the intel initialization enviroment
also
besides AGESA
you also need the security environment for crypto instructions
AMD PSP or Intel ME
those obviously are kept a closed secret
intel ME
laughs in coreboot
open source isn't always better than proprietary
The CD finally arrived! See my review of Winrar here: https://youtu.be/Xm0_K9do0Rc
Dunno if the info (aside from address) I blurred can be used to trace it back to me, but I got rid of it just to be sure.
0:00 - Intro
0:14 - Unboxing
0:48 - Installation
2:21 - Conclusion
Music...
that's pretty cool
how is winrar even a thing
as an engineer

I tank linus for actually giving credit for the engineers over at intel
BLAH BLAH BLAH LINUSSHILLTIIIIIIIIIIIPS
idk why conflict between amd and intel
@hidden night simply bc they basically are the only ones that produces processors
if you're talking about conflict about the 2 companies
that's just how the market works
it's not a bad thing, it's competition
if you're talking about conflict between people who support amd and people who support intel
then that's just how people work apparently
but you really shouldn't side with either
linus himself says it in that video
you shouldn't be buying for the brand
you should be buying for the product
well
fanboys will be fanboys
can't do anything about those so best not listen to them
ssd:
Samsung.
ram:
gigabyte (usually the best bang for buck and what i personally always choose)
hyperX
TridentZ (what i go for when not worried about budget)
HECK
Just downgraded stacked switch from SE12 to SE5
Then after downgrading the configuration is gone
for tower you mean case right? in that case ( get it?) just pick what you like the look of, good brands to look for are corsair and cooler master
@vagrant holly thank you~♡♡♡ Mwah Wuv u~♡♡♡♡
@vagrant holly Samsung 970 Evo 250 already good right?
250gb?
that's small, unless you're planning on installing just windows on the ssd and having a hard drive for everything else
which is the smart thing
With SSD prices these days, why even bother with spinning platters?
couze spinning platters are even cheaper
cuz 4 TB hard drives are way cheaper than 4 TB ssds
And slower.
you wont see it
alot of newer games load on the fly instead of with massive loading screens
there are plenty of programs that don't suffer as much from the low speed of the hdds
storing blender/CAD projects on SSD is suicide
like for example, if you record stuff, make 3d models and want your own textures collection and a place to store the 3d models themselves
the only time i have ever seen the loading time of a harddrive was when i had an external hard drive that would go to sleep after a minute of not being used
for anything creative, hdd are the ideal mass storage option cost wise
i picked up an echo recorder in borderlands 2, and it took 30 seconds to start playing cuz the HDD had to turn on
Can't say I do the creation biz. I know you guys do, so fair counter.
also storing things like media on SSD is just a waste
since you either constantly write
or you constantly read
and then i realized that an external hdd is the same as an internal one so i broke it open and put it in my rig
wait is it actually a normal hdd with a sata connector inside of those?
oh
Roll the dice
Finally
there's a subreddit that has info on that
yeah i got a 3 TB samsung for $120 like 5 years ago
the 1 TB was $90, and the 2 TB was $120
I should keep in mind that downgrading will wipe out device running config
walmart has some dumb pricing
i have one of those big 500 GB portable flash drives
for flash drives I have 8 16 GB ones
cuz unity VR development is horrible
since I know they die fast
Think my flash drives are 32 and 16. Haven't used them in ages.
Portable drive's 1Tb, for my backups.
Hell, even phones are getting buff storage, anymore.
whats up
it varies to some degree based on the case, some cases have standoffs built-in
others require the user to screw them in
you simply don't want the motherboard to touch the back of the case, aside from the screw holes
cause otherwise it will short and fry
Those things right?
Aight so I'm good then for those
or not
oh umm move 1 stick of ram
Wym
Ye
probably for the m.2 slots
Hm ok
not entirely sure though
Do the screws come with the motherboard?
the manual should say what it is
Like for the standoffs
should come with the case
if you need more just order them off of amazon
probably used to tighten or loosen the standoff given the name
lol
its for the power button reset button and related leds
I need them right?
yes
idk how I connect them
power button
did that come with the case or the motherboard
Case
Is it part of the F panel?
the case should have a wire that connects up to it
then the split end connects to the mobo
probably the colored portion on the bottom right of it
refer to the manual for the diagram
This?
Aight
These are different
@stone wave

Like I connected the power and LED
But now I need to connect to case
can you not see a cable that matches the pin layout
ive never worked with NZXT cases
but i think
it goes with the one labeled F_Panel
Thanks, everyone is good, finished building

Ooh Aria built
Yeah not for me though, I built for brother cause he bought parts
Nice
What did we as humanity do to deserve this? http://kylehalladay.com/blog/2020/05/20/Rendering-With-Notepad.html
I build shaders, renderers, games, and other stuff that's fun to stare at.
Also I'm so happy this got launched. It has everything on my wish list. No node modules folder with tons of dependencies needing to be downloaded, supports Typescript natively, browser-compatible code, and Web Assembly. https://deno.land/
it has some golang fuckery
such as the dependency cache
and no real way to update said deps
I'd rather prefer that over node modules folder. My NodeJS projects tend to get really convoluted and complicated really quick.
idk what that is but the art is very cute
I like how
my laptop display is only 1080p
but I watch youtube videos at 1440p or 4k if its possible

must supersample
I like how my laptop display is only 1080p but I watch youtube videos at 1440p or 4k if its possible
It can't be that worse
Me trying to play YouTube video that contains full HD or higher quality (e.g. 4K)
YT was loading a bit longer
Checked the quality setting
Quality: 1080p or Quality: 4K
Me: What the fuck
My ISP that could only buffer the best in 144p: Am I a joke to you?
youtube uses maybe a bit less bitrate at 1080p than you would like so it's not that unreasonable to downscale the 2k or 4k streams

650w should be enough
i would go for 700w minimum
it's always better to have extra voltage
not too much tought
650 is enough, higher than that say hello to ye new High Bill Friend
One message removed from a suspended account.
650w is enough, but having some headroom is always better, and lucaz talked about the bill, just because a power supply is 800w it doesn't mean it WILL consume 800w, it just means it can supply UP TO 800w, the amount of electricity it consumes depends solely on your components

theyll have to figure out what a driver is first

ye gaming isn't everything, most of the money is in businesses and other companies buying state of the art server/workstation hardware, so while amd has made a blip in the consumer gpu market (and even then it wasn't exactly a flawless run) they have a long way to go before they can come even close to what nvidia is
the cpu war will just inevitably turn into a circlejerk
AMD fanboys right now are like Intel ones during the FX era
it goes full circle
I just buy what I need and what I think will give me the best value for $
couldn’t care less about teams
ampere, which was announced by nvidia just the past couple weeks was absolutely groundbreaking
amd literally have no hopes in hell
well, that being said, nvidia are using amd cpus for their products
amd's cpu division does work well with nvidia
I’m still contemplating on whether to wait for 30XX or just bite the bullet and buy a 2070/80 super
still rocking that space heater Vega 64
the consumer side will absolutely crush anything we have today
unless amd underdelivers and nvidia has no reason to give good performance
as usual
Nvidia was straight up simping amd when they released ryzen 9
they posted a tweet @ing amd with a pic of ryzen 3900 and a 2080 super saying "they'll go great togheter <3"
the cpu division doesnt affect nvidia, why wont they have good relations
they have had plenty of marketing material together
ye
ye they are blood related
amd feels more like token competition than actual competition
well, without amd, i doubt we'd have had super cards at the same prices
they can certainly make sure that nvda isnt doing what intel did the past few gens
I miss when PS3s had Nvidia
but they are certainly nowhere close to being actual competition
ps3 had nvidia
ps3 also had that funky cell cpu architecture that turned off many devs
PS3 destroys Xbox 360 in every way possible technologically
PS3 had a built in blu ray, you had to buy an HD DVD adapter for Xbox 360
ye but didn't have many opportunoties of showing it because so many developers couldn't or were unwilling to figure out the architecture
PS2 is my favorite console
naughty dog were pretty much the only ones who really understood it
nds is better
handheld =/= console
Yeah
As much as I'm an AMD fanboy
The drivers are buggy
and Nvidia still makes better cards
also
My screen protector cracked
and its those UV light glue thingy
and its
annoying
yeah
Its expensive af tho
But
I rather spend more for a good one
I wasted like 70+ dollars because the screen protectors I bought were shit
Bought like 5?
also switch has nvidia
which has good graphics capability considering the size of the console
samsung owns fabs
its not a partnership
its just normal business
nvda leapfrogged amd and bought up a shitton of 7nm and 5nm availability at samsung
they trying to limit amd's supply
F
AMD is buggy
I agree
I always get graphic artifacts out of nowhere.
And Relive always failing.
Switched to NViDiA, Shadowplay performs way better and never had any issues with the graphics.
this thing have 7.5/gb bandwith wth, I feels like 1gb/s bandwith
hug + hack = infinity
windows 93 doesn't actually exist, that's more of a simulation, still a cute idea tho
Surprise GT
It's rare that you see this "kind" of RAM capacity on a PC
Where mine is
Main RAM Stick: (2 x 8GB)
and some addon RAM stick (1 x 4GB)
nah, that's normal
Well, most systems were have like 8 or 16GB
and it goes 32GB for the higher-end type of user
or 128 if you are aria
yama is that for your servers or main pc
madman
i like planes better than drones
is it a horten ho 229?
kinda
the concept is the same
only instead of a jet engine
you have a brushless motor with a propeller in the back
Any tips for converting hdd ext to internal?
I have unused 2TB Ext HDD
Wanna use it for my PC. Like, it needs some case or any adapters?
most likely you won't be able to change it to internal
unless it has a proper SATA interface
Windows 10 Version 2004 is out on public?
since yesterday
pog moment
but then... still in lockdown, can't go to a computer cafe to download the iso, stuck with 800MB/day internet, I'm out of options
to download the ISO
Unlike on Linux that provides torrent download for their ISO
the fuck does that change
😐
that's why you never open source everything
Guys what are your thoughts on Samsung Galaxy A71 ? Could it run AL smoothly with the future update ?
So If the processor in U series is for low electricity usage right?
3550H for a laptop
the 4th gen
I mean im only using it for Editing
So I got 2 option, getting the 3550H with rx560
or 4700U with vega 8
U is for Low power usage
so basically for Ultra thins
Like the LG Gram
or XPS 13
H is for balanced
Not really
Its designed to compete with the 10th gen intel chips
the one with a G in it
it still packs a lot of power
I rather go with H
series
for editing
with rx560 4gb
560 pretty strong
ryzen 5 3550H
thats pretty strong
Pretty strong for medium specs?
yeah
That cpu is pretty good for Multi-threaded tasks
Not so sure about the Rx560 tho
on a laptop
Might be severely underclocked
to maintain temps
It got nitro sense. and If I plugged the charger
it said it can max boost the cpu longer
bcuz the fan goes maximum
yeah
It can be set on nitro sense settings too
on battery the cpu is only allowed to draw the limit TDP set to it
I googled it for like 3 month RN
But if you plug it in it can draw more than its limited TDP
wait a min
internet sucks in my grandma house
@vast sand there
Also these text. its in my country language so I decided to Copy in english

[Cooling & Upgradeability] -
The striking advantages of the Acer Nitro 5 2019 are in the cooling aspect , and also upgradeability .
Looking at the cooling system capabilities provided to it, it seems natural that the Ryzen 5 3550H processor is given a slightly higher TDP configuration ( 42W 'Long' Boost, 50W 'Short' Boost ), allowing this processor to boost for longer , while maintaining a high clockspeed .
Acer provides a fairly abundant upgrade slot , there are 2x SODIMM slots (1 already loaded 1 DDR4 chip), and there are 2x M.2 ( 1x M.2 SATA, 1x M.2 PCIe / NVMe )
It is strongly recommended to upgrade RAM , at least by adding one 4GB RAM chip, making the system run in 8 + 4GB Dual-channel mode .
If you are buying a unit with HDD as the main storage, adding SSDs is also recommended to make the system more responsive ( there is an M.2 nvme Gen 3 x4 slot for high-performance storage options)
there is an SSD version but its not 1tb like the HDD.
its only 512gb
oh
- it adds you 40$
U might want to get an upgrade
SSDs are worth it
They reduce boot times by like 90%
My laptop boots in like 3 seconds

Im going for HDD version, then buying a big SSD
thats good enough?
i reccomend getting the ssd
since win 10 will be pre-installed
so win10 will be pre-installed on the SSD
ssd version then Getting big HDD?
Oh
get 8gb then upgrade to 16
Should I go get 16gb of 8gbx2 with the same hz?
ye just stick another 8gb
But if it different manufacturer. it should be a problem or no?
depends
it might work
it might not
probably not
since laptop motherboards have less flexibility
yikes tho the adapter
but its fair enough for budget laptop
or you got a recomendation?
but up to 700$ in price
its fine
it can go 700$ n up, bot not going more than 800
i got my laptop for about 1k USD
if it a bit more than 800 maybe i would take it
Oh wait Acer Nitro 5 have that series too maybe
Yeah i would say the laptop you're buying is pretty good
Im gonna check
for itss price
Yes there is one with the same specs as yours
Idk about the motherboard but its the same I7 and 1650
@vast sand You can check it?
the Acer nitro 5 with production code AN515-54-729J
My internet sucks
maybe its my Chrome. I will always stuck mid loading
eh
Acer Nitro 5 AN515-54-773E
Wrong product code sry
tthis one
is good
Before convert from hdd ext to internal
Now.
Cuz this ext HDD isn't even used mainly, so I'll put it into my pc
Yeah
this is the I7 series spec tho
maybe sorry for the spam
Laptop Gaming Acer Predator Nitro 5 AN515-54-729J i7 9750H 8GB SSD 512GB GTX1650 4GB Spesifikasi : - Processor : Intel® Core™ i7-9750H Processor - Memory : 8GB DDR4 - Hard Drive : 512GB SSD - Graphics : NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1650 4GB GDDR5 - Display : 15.6" FHD LED IPS 144hz - Optical Drive : N/A - Operating System : Windows 10 Home - Camera : HD webcam with 1280 x 720 resolution and 720p HD audio/video recording. - Audio : Two built-in stereo speakers - Slots/Interface : 1x USB 2.0 Ports 2x USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A Ports 1x USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C Ports 4x USB Ports 1X HDMI 1X RJ45 - Battery & Power adapter : - 3-pin 135 W AC adapter - 48 Wh 3220 mAh 15.2 V 4-cell Li-ion battery Battery life up to 6 hours - Warranty : 2 Year Warranty
Its fked up
Now Im confused
the Acer said its 14.5Million in IDR
Oh IDR
Im checking
Kinda new to Indonesian market tho
Im used to buy laptop in SG
That ping's recommendation
sg laptops are expensive
bcuz You bring device more than 3 from another country for brand new here
@gloomy tinsel
sorry for indonesian lang
https://www.tokopedia.com/acerid/acer-predator-nitro-5-an515-43-ryzen-5-3550h-rx-560x-1tb-8gb
9.2m IDR
no extra HDD 1TB atleast?
Yikes
No
the prices tho
F
for the older genss
thats why I say 800 in USD, bcuz without tax
but still uhh
1.2k USD for a GTX 1050
yeah
Yep thats the old 2017
the i5-9300H still performs well
for gaming
but for workstation
not so much
why not get a Desktop?
^
I need one that I can bring anywhere
I got a desktop
with ryzen 5 3600 and rtx 2060 super
in your country?
because we have a used market in our country
you can find sweet deals
if you're lucky
The Used market is totally busted up
The only thing is if I can deal with the owner by meetinf him
or we called it COD(Call on Delivery)
the other time I saw a MSI laptop that had a GTX 1070 going for like 700USD
it only had a bad battery
and the rest was pretty good
My laptop is an OLD TOSHIBA M600 lel
oof

tbh the current situation sucks
Btw thankyou for the advice
with a i5-10300H and RTX 2060
going for 1.1k USD

If I paid 100 more dollars I could get a 2060
that one cost 20 million in IDR
oof
I see lastime in the catalouge
or 1300USD
You're going to be a billionaire of you come to this country

not really
xd
i had to buy a laptop for my school
if not I could have finished building my PC

Im going to be a DKV
or Design, Communication and Visual if in english
no 4600H?
eh it was 4700 or 4600
I always think the H series got Higher performance
even it is not battery friendly than U series
4600H > i7-9750H > i5-10300H > 4700U > i5-9300H > 3750H > 3550H
yeah
Do You have link on Amazon?
nope xd
Like the one that have rate 4* n Up?
I dont use amazon
I just buy it from the local store
Oh
They have good deals
Sometimes
My laptop had a MSRP of i think 1699 SGD
but I bought it for 1518
Like you giving price tag, until we deal each others right?
Oh
yeah
I didnt check the used market
Or well
i did check
but couldnt find anything good
it still not coming in my country
But my selection there is an Asus TUF
you could try getting the i7-9750H if you can stretch your budget
because i dont see the 4600H on sale in my country as well
ASUS TUF FX506II-R55TB6T - AMD Ryzen 5-4600H GTX 1650Ti V4GB 8GB 512SSD 144HZ RGB
oooo
this one
14 million in IDR
or yea around 800 too
cheap
in USD
Im not joking
Ima go this one
Ok
to 16GB
thankyou for the help too mate
don't worry, me too
i should have just bought my PC
I bought my laptop like a year before ryzen existed
imagine it is broken but you don't know
4 years ago my cousin bought a "workstation" for 850 bucks.
Sandy Bridge Xeon E3 and a 950.
wish I could've warned her in time. Especially since she bought that mere weeks before the 1050 came out
I just bought a third-hand WMR VR headset for 130 dollars, anyone is using WMR VR headset like me?
dude, The Item is not ready. But this seller is honest tho
I want to buy another 8gb ram stick 3200hz, He said not ready yet.
To buy this item you need to pre order He said
@vast sand
Should I go for 2 weeks wait?
But He said if you dont want to wait you can order this one, the spec is 10/12 of that one
with 3550H and 1650. 144hz display too
price is 2 million IDR lower than that one
difference is 3550H 1650
and the A15 is 4600H 1650TI
well the A15 got like 30% more powerful
Yea ima wait
And school is delayed till spetember for me
I just looked at the Asus
so
for R5 4600H /1650Ti for 13.9Million
R7 4800H/1650Ti for 14.8 Million
R7 4800H/1660Ti for 17.9Million
R7 4800H/Rtx 2060 for 19.4Million
Anything else in the specs are the same
for Asus TUF A15 506 series
13.9 million= 965$
14.8Million=1030$
17.9Million=1250$
19.4Million=1350$
This are rated from IDR TO USD
hmm Asus finaly bring cheap laptop for its specs
so Bye bye Acer
One message removed from a suspended account.
I think 9900k consume more power
So I have a problem with my sd card
it just detect about 16mb of the storage
even it is 32gb Sandisk SD card
so If I format it using the FAT32 or even other system in it
will it affect the speed?
bcuz I remember this thing should be having around 60mb/s transfer rate
and I need compactibility too
since I use this SD card on android phone
Which to pick
NTFS
Exfat
Fat32
I just tried using fat32
and Copy a movie from my phone it worked. When empty it said 29.7gb
Probably because 32"GB" means 32*10^12 bytes instead of 32*2^30
Oh great
Escape characters dont work on phone doscord
Basically they advertise 32 but its not 32 when the comp raeds it
Tho it should be 29.1
SD card format is fat32
NTFS is for HDD
And we'll, not totally perfect 32GB 64GB or more
Example, my 64GB SD have total 60GB available
in terms of storage, 1gb should be 1000mb
but computers dont use that. 1gb is 1024mb for them
so a 32gb sd have a total usable of 29.8gb
F to Hipper
@hexed citrus what are your thoughts on an evga 2070 super with hybrid cooler for $589
I want power but i want it cheap
I would personally stick to strictly air cooling for a GPU
having an additional radiator (in the event you have an AIO already) just seems like a pain in the ass
cpu radiator on the top, gpu radiator where the back fan is
not worth
if u want peak cooling then might as well get a custom water loop kit and use that
cinebench is smoking smth
not worth the difference
Oof
if you don't do periodic maintainence to loop, stick to air
What maintenance do you need to do to an aio
it's not much the maintenance with aios as much as the amount of damage it could cause if it doesn't work as intended
at best it could just gunk up and you would notice it overheating and trash the cooler/rma it
at worse it leaks on your other components and breaks those too
if a fan breaks on a gpu it just, stops spinning, you can find the model and order a replacement from AliExpress and diy it
Ah ok
air cooling is still the best
Its still good. but watercooling give better experience
Imma still use water for the cpu tho
any1 running azur lane on linux
specifically arch and on anbox
@wooden quest on linux and i run with genymotion. anbox is alpha software at best and i could never get it working
it's the best software i've found so far for AL and i get steady 60fps with R5 3600 and GTX 1060 machine
feel free to PM me if you want more deets
I tried running nox player on my macbook pro once awhile back... bad choice. even with this i9 and 8 core processor, it wasn't working properly. Had a lot of lag and then eventually just kept crashing when the game loaded up 😅
you need visualization for it
well it was running using the package that it downloaded with, oracle something
and i know i had changed something in the settings and that's how i got it to work initially the first time but after that it just kept crashing. I was thinking of allowing more cores to run on it but i wasn't so sure. the default it selected was 4
oracle is a company, they make a piece of software called java
it probably updated java because nox needs it to simulate the virtual machine
but you need to enable virtualization via the bios
there is no other way of enabling virtualization, you have to do it via the bios
it basically allows your virtual machine (in this case nox) to fully utilize your cpu, without it, performance is heavily gimped
no amount of fiddling with the settings in nox will help you if you don't activate virtualization first
also
running arch generally has the prerequisite that you'll be able to fix stuff yourself
nox can run without virtualization on? never used it so TIL
@vagrant holly well it uses virtualbox as the VM manager with KVM as the default hypervizor
it can
any VM can
but it will run like absolute garbage
i've honestly never tried running a VM without virtualization turned on so i guess TIL in general
it can run but performance is garbo
Ok I buy it. but 20days of pre order.
it TUF
Guys just a question, if you pair up a Intel I5 6th Gen and a GTX 1080, is that considered bottlenecking?
base 1080, shouldn't
actually you're fine with 1080ti too
nah it's not gonna bottleneck
isn't 6th gen a bit too old?
idle cpu temp 60°c at 10% usage
Insert wat face moment
Time to re-paste cpu yeah
Blow the whole inner PC with blower even already blowed a week ago
Clean from dust.
Take the Heatsink
Wtf totally dried af paste
Re-paste
Ok done
Turn it up and checking CPU temp
idle 10% @ 40°C. Max temp at 71°C (GTA Online with all high graphic settings)
Well Im still using stock heatsink fan
Still one year usages but already dried, oh well

@novel socket not even close
i'd be more worried about the bottleneck from the 2133mhz ram
That's not going to bottleneck
Im still using 2400mhz ddr4
I use ryzen 7 1700 and gtx 1070 OC and 16 GB ram the bittleneck is the 1070 but it runs in most games with over 60 FPS 😅
Steampunk. And damn, that's nice.
I'd bet that was a coupla Gs tossed down.
i bet its custom and really didnt cost them much
This from the man what used to have a scratch-built laptop.

(Either way, that does look badass)
like i bet the dude made it himself
It's certainly not impossible.
automatic GC is the future
meanwhile C/C++ is like what is GC
and then dies of memory leaks from a bad code
...and I just jinxed my project
STONKS
Ight, I'll try downloading Nox again tomorrow. Don't know how to turn on the virtualization setting you guys are talking about. Hopefully you guys can help with that 😅
so i installed valorant
when they say their anti-cheat is "always on"
they mean it's ALWAYS on
you boot up your pc, on the task tray their anti-cheat is on from start up
and if you turn it off
if you ever want to play valorant maybe later in the day
you have to reboot your pc
to restart their anti-cheat
So I got this problem in my Old laptop
It said Please instal/Update GL driver
what is that?
it's happen when I want to start some game
@vagrant holly tell us smth new
Its on my old laptop. idk what type. but its samsung, Buyed around 2014 or so. with AMD A8
@remote remnant How do I update it?
hold up
i remembered i did it once but forgot how to do it
control panel > hardware and sound > device manager
i knew it was bad but not THIS bad
then find display adapter
should be like this
the red box up there is where you update
itll update everything possible
It's much worse @vagrant holly
the so called "anti-cheat" also "checks" other drivers and firmware "for vulnerabilities"
and if it finds smth weird it will block it
like as in fully block hardware
and it also causes frame drops, stuttering and BSOD in other games
that's nuts
not to mention the requirement to run at boot
ye and if you turn it off
the driver is still loaded in even if you turn it off
like exit from it at the tray, you can't play valorant until you reboot the PC
the big deal seems to be its fog of war system but i doubt it needs to dig this deep to implement a fog of war
cs go does fog of war too by its nowhere near this invasive
and even then apparentlt it goes down to ring 3
and attacks can still happen from deeper apparently
considering its a game by riot, it's bound to have alot of cheaters, eventually if they aren't there already
but can't be worse than cs go or ow
there's a ton already
well there you go, anti cheat is just as good as most anti cheat then, except it digs deeper
it's like handing them a loaded gun, allow them to hold it to your head and trust them to not pull the trigger
and then you have idiots that actually defend it
hell no
they probably were impressed by fog of war without knowing its actually nothing new
Hell.
Weren't there also reports of Valorant's anti-cheat nuking people's gpus?
As if I didn't already dislike anti-cheat programs. Nothing but pure EW!, on this one.
@hidden night "noctua nh d15" or "be quiet! dark rock 4"
it's too big for the case?
noctua is even bigger than the dark rock
if you can't fit dark rock don't even think about noctua
but you should be able to fit dark rock
Well plan was mid case so i kinda worry abit
i mean the non-pro datk rock
Hmm
@vagrant holly Hang on isnt bit worry if i fitted with ryzen 7?
not planning to overclocked btw
And no Rgb, well kinda
you're fine dark rock am4 compatible
also if you point out "no rgb" as if it's a negative again i WILL hurt you
because they are dumb
I mean why want rgb when its IN OUR LOL
but anyway, rgb can be useful sometimes, like if you want to take a quick glance at your pc to cueck if something is wrong and you have a glass side panel, illumination can make it easier to see inside
but it's really just vanity otherwise
So thats the point for RGB LOL
anyway, for the cooler, you can pick whatever you want, some brands to look out for are: arctic, cooler master and corsair or you could get noctua's nh u12, which is a bit more expensive bit it's pretty small snd should fit on any case
Awright
you can set nzxt cpu pumps to track cpu and gpu temp with the rgb colors
VALORANT looks cool
but their anti cheat is VERY intrusive
I don't like how it has to be always on
not only is it wasting resources, who knows what's it doing in the background?
ill tell you what the anti cheat isnt doing: stopping cheaters
