and then regret their decision
naah
AMD doesn't know how to compete in the graphics market
their only main income is from consoles and apple
how u said is like green plebs lmao
if AMD had some decent truly high end cards and good drivers they would hands down take nvidia off the top spot
but as it stands rn AMD is just a gimmick
good on paper
bad in practice
from where u got bad decision of buying RX 5700?
4chan?
I got in for many tech forums, they're legit satisfied
people that I know
also being in tech forums doesn't give any validity to your claims
so does what u got from ur friends lmao
if 20 people complain about something from a specific series of cards it's not a coincidence
if 80 ppl satisfied from specific cards, it not a coincidence aswell
80 people satisfied is nothing
I can find 80 people be satisfied of the VII
doesn't change the fact that it's a meme card
yeah whaever u said green pleb
Im not want getting my 1050Ti again since it failed to competiting performance to 570
and last thing white knight Nvidia exist

I like the fact that this room goes from dead to 100 depending on the topic
As for nvidia drivers, there is evidence of them gimping older cards. Like voltage limits and custom vbios posting code 43s for maxwell cards lol. As for any latest atrocities IDK
yikes this channel
I don't think power consumption is a problem lol
resort to calling names when they can't prove their point
@subtle hawk thats u lol
We give the right info u still think amd gpu is shit
And the VII can be classified as prototype
Well we can talk about the 1650
Same performance as 1050ti
Released to the wide market
that was a idiotic move by nvidia that bit them in the ass
thinking people will buy a refresh
And how about when Nvidia released the Turing gpu and had to take back bcs of faulty chip and ofc guarantee was gone
Nvida making bad decisions doesn't change the fact that amd has shit gpus

you can say AMD is good all you want but the fact that nvidia could launch turing at the insane prices they did is the only proof you need that AMD was nowhere near competitive. when AMD finally had good competition (2 years later) with the RX 5000-series, then nvidia actually lowered prices (see: 2060 price drop vs 5600xt bios update debacle)
i use linux and i hate nvidia as a company bc of how much they shafted linux nvidia drivers, but AMD does not have a good track record of GPUs. vega and radeon VII were hyped to shit and they turned out terrible
i want AMD to make a comeback with big navi like they did in CPUs with ryzen but i don't have much hope for them
I currently use Nvidia but thinking of AMD next
Nvidia has better texture and physics, AMD has better color
i got burned by amd drivers when i paid $60 to pre-order just cause 3, only for them to drop driver support a week before it came out, and then not a single AMD card could physically run JC3 at more than 10 fps. so they had to do a driver hotfix for all cards except the like 50 that they dropped support for the previous week
Nvidia has better texture and physics, AMD has better color
@buoyant egret if reported leaks and estimates are anything to go by, nvda next gen will absolutely crush anything amd could come up with by a long shotand wym btr color, 3rd party cards dont have a color that you like?
paint it
what?
The actual color of the screen
uhhh
you DO realize that the monitor is only thing that affects screen color right?
wtf graphics color
changing graphics card will not affect the color on your screen

Can't wait for Intels cards

youre lucky yama isnt online to verbally slaughter you
Intel gang all the way
He’s lucky this is an official server...
Maine is something else
you do know that yama runs the bot that can ban you right?
Stop calling me Maine! That’s not my 🤬 name!
Remember the Maine!
St🤬u
yeah but he can do it without a trace through the bot
i doubt he's a coward though
I don't need to talk to walls
a.k.a fanbois
for what @lunar patrol8 said
for actual display drivers the nvidia ones on linux are god damn terrible
then again AMD ones aren't great either
it's basically lesser of 2 evils
for rendering and other GPU accelerated workloads doe the nvidia drivers are better
even on linux
yeah but he can do it without a trace through the bot
@severe falcon even if the bot bans someone, its still in audit log. there'll always be a trace
A.k.a fanbois, Yamato one of them

cg geek ran a bench on rendering with linux
yes but fish, i assume the audit logs say that nimi banned them
yups
it's much faster than windows
yeah so you will know nimi did it, but not who told her to
only yama has access to her without commands
true
also I have a collection of both AMD and nvidia cards going back to 2005 cards
tfw shaw bot joins for 12 ms just to ban someone and then leaves
telling the truth is bound to make you look like a fanboy no matter what
amd is better? say amd is better >amd fanboy
nvidia is better? say nvidia is better >nvidia fanboy
there is no winning
ATI is better, thats how you solve it
voodoo was better
rip voodoo
telling the truth is bound to make you look like a fanboy no matter what
amd is better? say amd is better >amd fanboy
nvidia is better? say nvidia is better >nvidia fanboy
there is no winning
@vagrant holly it's not the point
Fs in chat for voodoo
F
Saying that amd cards are shit without any context
there is context tho
Yea he explained later
alright
The reason why amd cards sucks
But not all of them are right
Idc about fanboyism, everyone is free to think that a brand is better than the other, the only thing that is pissing me off Is Ppl is saying amd cards are shit without any context
because they are

grindy singleplayer games call for this measure
don't @ me for sloppy code
just did it in 15 minutes and a bit of tweaking
disgusting
hey I can do proper code
Fanboyism
bad thing
this is now #gpu-shitstorm

i should've studied electronics engineer stuff
i cannot determine some issues in transceiver or port of a device
especially the level or rx and tx power
what transciever
sfp
so optical
maybe ill try to study the basics of them once quarantine ends
if the power is low then you could have a dirty or damaged fiber
how about extremely high ?
i dunno if rx and tx power has something to do with link flap & packet drops
how much is it exactly
Wow, didn't know this channel existed until now
Do you guys even fold?
it's just a poster
But that's from Wish

Last time when I was cleaning
PC haven't gone to shutdown state because I was folding at that time
Clean rig.
moved my desk so i had to readjust all my spaghetti
only took like 2.5 hours...
@stone wave is that the /dev/tty keycap set
yea

@lunar patrol why are there so few keys
are you typing in chords

or what's that called
so where do '[]\ and top row go
layers/modifiers
typing in chords is the only way to type
I'm a cs student so I actually gave []{} their own dedicated keys on the thumb cluster
LWR button turns home row into numbers, RSE turns the home row into their respective shift+num symbols
other symbols on top or bottom row LWR/RSE layers as I felt like it when I made the layout
if you can solder you can probably cobble together a cheap kit
though i'd probably hold off with the COVID-19 situation kinda messing with supply and shipping
I can solder
You have to look around but here's one KDB has a 65 key kit that's $85 USD if you choose the base options (plastic case, aluminum plate) https://kbdfans.com/collections/diy-kit/products/dz68rgb-customize-keyboard-diy-kit?variant=28550375243824
but you'll have to get the switches and caps separately
If you need we assemble it for you ,Please add this link to cart. Assembly link . Remember buy switches you need ! PCB of dz65rgb v2 has been changed to black color Specs: Two cases can be selected: Tada68 plastic case and tofu65 aluminum case Each key is RGB LED QMK firmware ...
60% keyboards are cheaper
eBay should yield some results on that front
if you do buy a kit make sure the PCB comes with stabilizers otherwise you'll have to order them separately
imo it's not really worth building your own kb (outside of fun/learning purposes ofc) unless you're doing one of 1. making an uncommon form factor 2. using non-mainstream switches 3. using premium materials (i.e. aluminum/steel/titanium case) 4. flashing a unique QMK layout
if you're interested in getting a common form factor with mainstream switches then you can get a mass produced mech kb for much cheaper than you could ever build one
once you start getting picky with your preference it's bad
you're telling me with my split 40% ortho lmao
Reminds me of the LoLPH cryptominer installed in it's client
Seriously wondered why my PC was very slow. Ain't trusting them ever again. Although it was Garena's fault in that case but still.
A backdoor can happen.

@subtle hawk is it possible to enable GPU passthrough on a laptop with dedicated GPU?
Pluralsight is free in April for those wanting to learn something software-related
Sad news: John Conway, the inventor of the Game of Life has died of COVID-19.
@flint bobcat no obv
I see @desert olive , didn't know you are active here too.
I assume you fixed the problem of your case being held together temporarily by tape?

Tape is the way to go. + 5 FPS easy.
How do I convince my parents to let me buy a better PSU
It's sorta redlining at full load
And it's normal 80 plus so not that efficient
tell them that your PC is going to burn the fucking house down bc of your current shit PSU
That could go 2 ways
They give him the PSU he needs
Or they ban him for playing on the pc
that tape definitely boosting your cpu by .2 GHz
it's like those stickers they give you with the parts you put on your pc
it's common knowledge those give you .3 GHz per sticker
or go work for a day and get the money to buy the psu yourself

I really like this idea:
We're in a strange new era of personal computing, one where our machines can twist into tablets, weigh just a few pounds, and pack in multiple screens. At CES, things are getting even weirder. Dell just unveiled the Concept UFO, a chunky portable PC with removable gamepads, a ...
Switch but for actual gamers

idk how far portable x86 tablet pc has come so far
I still remember it relatively consuming lots of power
holy shit G Hub is hot fucking garbage, can't even find the goddamn DPI settings
Bruh imagine using a gaming mouse and a mousepad
im using a generic mouse that came with an HP Omni 100 and the table itself
imagine using a $100 mousepad to avoid charging your mouse every week
i never said it was a smart purchasing option
But is it good to trade in my iPhone 8 plus to 2020 SE?
Rly still wanted that 5.5 but this goes 4.7 Inc
ngl gaming mouse on a pad is smooth af
but yeah imagine spending over $100 on a pad just for RGB and wireless charging
i figured it out
or rather after a few restarts the program added the fucking option
this fucking thing was missing when i installed it
thats why i was scratching my head
wdym it's always there for mice
imagine having to set DPI in software
Does the G Hub supports the old hardware like G102 Prodigy Gaming Mouse?
I know that G Hub is optimized for the latest Logitech peripherals
re: earlier
this is a big reason why I like peripherals that don't require any bullshit external software
my zowie divina s1 is plug and play with straightforward polling & DPI buttons underneath and that's all I need
I think what happened was the download gave an old version and I had to let it update or some shit.
Cause normally i never really have any issues with it.
they all have onboard profiles out of the box @subtle hawk
it's not like ur zowie doesn't have software for fine control
How do y’all rank Sony audio equipment?
I love my Sony earbuds
Am a huge Sony fan here
nothing special about them
queue up it's all about that base
but if seriously then a more clearer sound is better than a base-y one
in the end it's up to preference
Implying that it’s not clear
It’s bassy but in the right way
It has the perfect amount of bass in it
So yeah, it’s very clear with the right amount of bass

Did you know that
is providing free sticker replacements from their website? Just in time it has been arrived.
Good!
Oh...
Well, that sucks
I lost the i3 sticker of my family computer more than a year ago
@restive rover It's available worldwide. One guy from France does that and they ship stickers from the UK.
Ohh,
Here's the official link and fill out the form to get a replacement.
https://app.smartsheet.com/b/form?EQBCT=946510ad2aab4ad2a4f9fd73f6fc1c26
But one problem for me is that I live in a province, hence I need to pick it up in the city
It'll ship via FedEx worldwide
Is the shipping fee, free?
Yes, it's free.
Well that's nice
Here's what I collected so far
Excluding the larger C2Q and
GTX, which are from eBay
@restive rover Yes, I have the 2nd gen Core i3, 3rd gen Core i5, and 4th gen Core i3.
Might gonna try it after this "event" stops

I want to get a sticker for a Pentium or a Core 2 Duo for my pc
It would be as ironic as a pc with a spoiler for it to be faster
eBay or Etsy should have those stickers if you happen to want to order some.
I need to get my home theater system working
It been 8 years since it was last used
Hook it up to my backwards compatible PS3 and
was browsing amazon cause i was bored and came across this piece of gore
What is that?
I don't think I even buy physical media any more.
For music I use Spotify Premium.
Books all go to my Kindle Oasis.
PC games all go to one game platform or another.
I have a small selection of blu ray movies that ive been meaning to drop off at a Goodwill or whatever
I guess it's good for renting at a Red Box kiosk or w/e.
if thats a nightmare then my PC is hell itself
6 fans and 4 HDDs shoved inside a cube PC for a mini ITX board
rent bluray
I buy my PC games on steam, however for console I buy all of them on physical
I buy of my movies on blu ray, only time I buy digital is if it’s included in the blu ray
I miss the THX logo you see before the movie starts, that was very common in the 2000s
yeah i just grab h.265 encodes
Anything notable about h265 encodes? I find h264 okay and it's more widely supported across devices
usually if 2 files are of the same quality the h265 encoded one will be smaller, and if they're both the same size the h265 will be of better quality
that is, provided the file was encoded properly
the downside is h265 has less device support than the more widespread h264 encoding, but up to date apps and video players ought to handle it just fine, though decoding it (playback) requires more processing power
and encoding a video to h265 takes longer than h264

Some commenters requested that we use our restored vintage 1930 Model 15 Teletype as a terminal for Linux. Hooking up a 5-bit Baudot mechanical contraption to a modern OS, even one that is terminal friendly, is not without some challenges: adapting to the non-standard high vol...
Dayam!
Just watched that. It's really cool. although the Teletype still acted as a dumb terminal, it still is a good watch.
I agree to that
Entertaining
i just love seeing all the bits and bobs inside moving
it's so sick that it's fully mechanical
While not a teletype, my favorite device of this nature has to be the IBM Selectric, that ball mechanism is pretty darn fascinating to me.
that's pretty cool
probably pretty expensive and tedious if it breaks tho
since it's pretty much just that one piece which is the whole thing
IIRC IBM has specifically trained technicians to field the Selectrics.
it does look pretty unique
The Selectric held more than a 50% market share for typewriters in the US until like the 80's.
Commercial for the 2000 pound (I josh!) electric typewriter. It has a removable typewriter font ball! Why, you can italics! Groovy!
that's pretty sick
you can just replace the ball to select different fonts or whatever
yeah and the ball requires a smaller throw than the more traditional type writers
and it's old school IBM too
so i'd bet that thing weighs more than 50 lbs.
or 22.5 kg
wait, is the ball specific to selectrics?
cuz if so i think we have one at my work

anyone here try putting AL or mobile game ip addresses in a caching container?
World of Crusts
gonna doubt on that game if it still works
@vast sand What happened?
Idk lol
did you try turning it off and on again?

Where does the AL: Crosswave save file is located?
I successfully boot up the game on Linux with SteamPlay and a bit of tinkering.
nvm, found it on c:\users\*your_username*\AppData\Local\Azurlane
u never see that font
100GB storage (HDD)
what
I have dual boot PC
I never intented use Linux before but as I grew interest I want to do it on a separate hard drive
Windows 10 is installed on my SSD while eOS is installed on one of my internal hard drives.
and might gonna continue playing AL: Crosswave on Linux
I didnt knew they still made those
I didnt knew they still made those
What are "those"?
i think they're assuming the hard drive is 100gb as opposed to it being a partition on your hard drive?
I finally sold my HP 505B microtower PC locally.
Specifications page for HP 505B Microtower Business PC.
AM3?
I was on that socket for a short while got one of the Phenom II X4 9xx.
Didn't do as well in games as I would have liked so I switched over to an Intel i5 3470k or whatever. AM3 hasn't aged as well as 1155 IMO.
I miss those old school looking PCs
When did LGA115x was released?
It's Sept. 2009
The LGA1156
1155 was around 2011, 1150 was 2013, 1151 was 2015
It's been more than 10 years
Wow, I might gonna go to sleep because it's 4am here rn
night
I've heard of this since yesterday but damn TF2 and CS:GO's source codes has been leaked.
Both having a build date of Fall 2017
CS:GO may be safe as it has been updated regularly, TF2 isn't. It may be unsafe to play that game in coming months.
its already completely unsafe to play rn
More like annoying to play with since cheaters can only crash servers at the most part.
uhh with the leaks, it was found that the server hosts can literally execute any code on your machine just because you are connected
so like giving you viruses or deleting all your items
Someone from VNN's group went rogue. That's the gist of it.
yeah
VNN has no comment and Valve is yet to respond.
Feels like the HL2 beta leak again

But yeah, it is more unsafe now since the source code was publicized.
Some additional stuff, source codes was leaked already. However they managed to contain it and not get publicized.
We have reviewed the leaked code and believe it to be a reposting of a limited CS:GO engine code depot released to partners in late 2017, and originally leaked in 2018. From this review, we have not found any reason for players to be alarmed or avoid the current builds.

man TF2's gonna get real flak now
Ryzen 3 releasing next month, 2 models 3100 and 3300X
Bruh
And this is relevant yet again
I think I'll wait for a tick tock cycle after DDR5 hits the consumer market before I even consider any upgrades.
Nah there were only like around 300 lines of it
man that de looks clean
I still love kde though
any of you linux users have an alternative to bluestacks/nox? I've just been using the Android Studio emulator. Tried anbox and android x86 in a vm and none of that worked with azur lane. Just crashes or does nothing.
that's the thing on linux
there is no clear emulator for android
you can install one in a VM but you won't have touch input
yea kinda a bummer. anbox is the closest thing but it's really broken
the android studio one works really well though... until you have two instances... otherwise the only downside is not being able to use a controller
What if...
You have to install a Windows 10 VM inside Linux and then install Nox inside the VM but I prolly it doesn't work
@signal trellis Is that a Macintosh?
that's linux
What distro?
most likely ubuntu or gentoo
@signal trellis I use genymotion for android VM on linux. It is much more responsive than a straight android x86 VM in my experience, and supports arm through a translation layer. I run AL at a stable 60fps with an R5 3600 and gtx 1060
it uses virtualbox as its hypervisor so you'll have to settle for using vbox as your hypervisor for everything on your desktop
this doesn't bother me as I have a dedicated server for VMs and I don't run any on my desktop, but if you're already settled on KVM/libvirt or any other type-2 hypervisor then it'll be pretty difficult to switch
It can be a tedious task to setup another OS
But if you know your workarounds then you have no problem setting it up
Lol
@restive rover Manjaro
Ubuntu has a kde version. Don't remember if it's official but it's called Kubuntu
@lunar patrol I thought that was a paid service. Or is it free?
@signal trellis you may pay for it as a service if you wish (mostly intended for actual devs working on android apps), but the standalone local program for personal use is free
feel free to DM me if you have questions setting it up but it's been a pretty painless setup process on arch-based distros in my experience
Manjaro...
So it's an Arch-based distro, ranked 6th on FOSS for year 2020, and a simple OS that has friendly UI than Arch Linux as people say on the internet and "works-out-of-the-box".
@restive rover KDE is a DE not a distro
FOSS
every time I hear that I'm a little triggered
FlOSS
Manjaro is basically Arch but not scary to install
arch isn't scary
Malware is scary, so does getting infected on Windows
it's not that bad
if you know what you're doing
and it's not like linux or mac are any safer
Well to me I'm safe when using Linux from local malware that is spreading around me that they don't even know to take care of it
Like, I'm tired of going to the %appdata% to remove that JavaScript malware on other computers that makes shortcut to any external drives
vb is not javascript
wait, is it JavaScript?
Oh, no I was wrong.
It was a VBScript / WScript, something like that
When you double click the shortcut on the flashdrive, it gets executed and uses the hidden .bak file and creates it's own directory on %appdata% where the malware resides and hides it's own folder.
It's been 6 years that the malware is still around on my place
that thing is old
and easy to circumvent
it's not technically malware since the only thing it does is be a nuisance
and you can purge it by just scanning all the infected pcs
and scan all removable devices before opening a shortcut
scan all removable devices before opening a shortcut
One problem to that to those other users... They don't even know how to use an AV

Buy parts and ask your local store to build it for cable management might be better and cheaper
In case you don’t wanna build it yourself
They usually charge like $20-30
Speaking of prebuilts I do like the Ghost Canyon NUC, NGL.
the new ghost canyon nuc (5L volume) is way too expensive for what it is, especially since you can build a full sffpc with a full-size GPU (velka 5: 5.7L) that's barely bigger, or an itx GPU sffpc (velka 3: 4L) that's smaller
both of these builds are cheaper than the ghost canyon by a good margin and can perform seriously better since they use standard desktop parts and not a meme machine mobile cpu
haha hell yeah they're over priced

Although I’m an IOS person, I’m getting jealous of Android users being able to run two apps at the same time
Playing Azur Lane Arknights while watching a video, texting, ect
that's something open source software and ecosystem can achieve
besides iOS can do it*
*if you have a iPad
Bruh
Dont worry fellow ios person
We have the most powerful chip
And a cheap model coming with said powerful chip
Yeah
IOS user since 2010
I used to play Angry Birds a lot when I was younger
Is Angry Birds still relevant anymore?
It used to be one of the top apps
I think even for mobile, Apple chips are not the most powerful
Yamato, what phone you use?
S10+
yes apple's silicone is only powerful running iOS
so it's not a apples to apples comparison
I think it lost to flagship snapdragon for phones
most of the time
in what? mobile benches?
yeah
it's like me trying to compare a pc with a macbook
one running windows
one running mac os
right
it's not a true proper benchmark
not to mention that most of apple's chips are full of all kinds of extra stuff
apple just has the advantage that they control the entire process
while on a android device the only thing the manufacturer can control is software and design
most chips are build for a wide variety of applications
while apple makes all of them purpose built
I plan to get a Samsung soon
To me, Apple's iOS excels in productivity while Android is for, "gaming" I guess?
I never had or own an iPhone.
source engine code leaked
well fuck it might as well run it through the ground
@restive rover I prefer iPhone as Gaming phone because of its constant fps
Meanwhile android have so much variant (You better go for flagship phones on Android it's usable for next 2 - 4 year in its optimal performance)
And the minimum Processor on Android is snap 720G for now if you want to buy android device
And Apple A11 but some iPad like 10.2inc have compressor for more performance
(ipad 10.2 Inc have A10 chip with compressor)
And yes you can't compare IOS Benchmark and Android Benchmark
But this is the minimum iPhone series you can buy in 2020 (Xr,iPhone 8/ you can just go for SE 2020 if you're not going for the 8 plus version)
If you have money just go for the iPhone 11
If you have money just go for the iPhone 11
No
But if I want to have an iPhone, I would rather go with iPhone 7 because, camera is nice and has IOS for video recording.
I prefer iPhone as Gaming phone because of its constant fps
Yeah, I remember something that the iPhone doesn't get throttled down even at high temps
installed the game on a snapdragon 865 phone and now the loading times go zoooom (had 845 before)
Yes you can just try compare it with the first blackshark, second gen blackshark, and third gen Blackshark
They use 845,855+,865
Every gen have like 20% performance boost tho
@restive roverI would say iPhone 7 isn't that good now for gaming. But fps is still stable if you just play games but it will a bit frame drops if you go on hot drops in PUBGM
one thing iphones lack that most android flagships don't
is high refresh rate displays
@subtle hawk What do you think of iPhones?
I don't game much on mobile since I'm a PCMR (well, with an exception to Azur Lane).
But most flagship android phone Now has the 120hz touch sensing
they're too expensive for what they give
and break too easily
with apple giving you the middle finger if u want to repair it
Remember when I want to fix my MacBook it just have a cable that's not connected properly.
Cost 1200 and I said no. I bring it to my friend
Like they said the battery and motherboard problem. But it's totally the battery cable connector doesn't connect properly

I have a PC and a Mac
Well iPhone SE 2020 experience so far is
Feels like playing on iPhone 8 but with high boost chipset
And it's rather cheap
PC is better obviously
that's the reality of a closed ecosystem
Apple fanboys are isheeps
Isheeps are people who think Macs are by default THE workstation computer
Even though Lenovo and Dell make workstations too
Even then, I hear the BS phrase of Macs being the best for graphics design and photo editing
BS
anything apple makes is something mediocre that has the apple tax
Lenovos, Dell, and HP can do just find
lenovo is shit
Hell even my gaming PC doubles as my work computer
i got no problem with macos/ios but i can't for the life of me figure out how to navigate around it without stumbling
yes just yes
And IBM are among the best
they butchered the thinkpad line
For me
iPhones have very good software
Samsung have very good camera but Huawei is the best camera
Sony just decent at everything but design is nah it feels like holding a tv remote
OnePlus is above average
Oppo,Vivo are just trash
what IBM is still it's own company
IBM was one of the best
yes they sold their computer division
IBM is still quite large, being S&P 100 listed
that said I have no idea what they do now a days
if we're talking big ass US based companies that shat themselves... the camera division of Kodak that's a big oof

also @gloomy tinsel if you want the most true to life pictures the pixel delivers that
IBM sold their their computer division to focus on robots, super computers, servers, ect
the rest do too much processing
ah yeah i took a picture of my sandwich today in #food with my S10+ and it looks rather saturated
Still likes Huawei. But I agree that pixel give a very great picture
Especially the Night mode
yeah that's the AI processing that cranks the saturation of food
Bcuz I like silky water pictures
I realised theres a rise in the number of unofficial apis just for azur lane
Tho idk how bad it is i do need some help in terms of data auditing
if you need info go to the wiki
Nah wiki ive already consulted for their perms to use their data
I do need to see if anyone is able to help audit the info we got from the wiki
Cos in terms of apis, i think we did smtg different from most of the apis
Hosting datas locally instead of a server
and what would u use the api for that the wiki doesn't help with
Like normal discord bots will do
Discord based wikis
Or web databases
I think u already know abt the kurozero monetizing incident
Resulting wikis rate limit to 5 sec to prevent discord bots accessing the wiki server excessively
Heres one active test im working with to provide the data

Yea i did talk to jif abt using their data
there's so many bots that have this data already
not to mention that it's easier to open the wiki
if we're talking big ass US based companies that shat themselves... the camera division of Kodak that's a big oof
@stone wave *Laughs in General Motors, Chrysler, AIG, Lehman Brothers, Washington Mutual
@vast sand
I can counter flex
why would I need nvlinked 2080 tis

when I have tesla cards

G502 Hero SE?

Logitech S502 Hero ye
Killing the around 20KHz audio range
also I could probably get a sound spectrometer from a friend of mine that works at a recording studio to tune my setup
I can hear it tho since my ear is so sensitive
Like, I can notice a 128kbps mp3 and a 320kbps mp3
from the audio spectrum range
If the hats and crash sound were crisp, I can assume that it's a HQ music
human hearing goes between 20 Hz to 20kHz
If the hat is kinda, meh, it's those below 256kbps audio
I have collection of FLAC music that pleases my ears
but do you have good enough hardware to play it back
Yes
Also gonna buy new speaker after this epidemic
Because my current speaker is beat up
ur listening on pc I hope
I just use a simple amp and earpiece
kinda toasted right speaker
Final Audio E3000
ur listening on pc I hope
True
cause I've seen pepegas that say they can tell the difference of FLAC audio playing on their phone
and I'm like
cause I've seen pepegas that say they can tell the difference of FLAC audio playing on their phone
If you are comparing to 128kbps mp3 and FLAC, that's a huge difference
the amp won't do shit
since the dacs inside phones aren't as high grade as something you can get for a pc
because it's 99% snake oil
If you are about to play those 96000Hz FLAC music on phone, you are hardware limited to 44100Hz or 48000Hz
128kbps is more than enough for me
128kbps is more than enough for me
Same to me when I was a ||n00b|| about music quality

l mean all I listen to is EDM
BTW, you watched ShortCircuit's new video?
and edm is basically random sounds mashed together
BTW, you watched ShortCircuit's new video?
not yet
and here I am listening to orchestra and piano

Might gonna go back to Windows just to play AL on emulator
but then, I'll have hard time connecting my Discord client to the internet
afterwards
bullshit
dolby atmos is
since we're talking about audio
when i bought my mobo, i've never had a medium/high end mobo
so when i got this
it had this stupid ass sonic studio 3 software
and it PISSES ME OFF
LIKE I DON'T EVEN USE IT
I HAVE TO REBOOT WHEN IT UPDATES AND I CAN'T EVEN MANAGE ITS UPDATE SCHEDULE
LIKE WHY ASUS
AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Uninstall it if you don't use it.
stealthily re-installs itself somehow
look man, i don't know how it happens either
i uninstall it
and somehow one day, i'm doing something, playing games, modelling, listening to music whatever
and the dam thing pops up and it's like "sonic studio 3 needs to reboot to complete an update"
it's like a zombie
I really doubt that program if it keeps coming back after an uninstall...
i need help with m.2 troubleshooting
that drive is in that mobo, but the OS and bios dont see it
@subtle hawk bless me with your divine knowledge
How many M.2 slot does your mobo have?
Wait, lemme check the link you sent
So it's a SATA M.2 drive, not an NVME I see.
I see something what's happening.
Some motherboard only support SATA M.2 or NVME M.2 or both.
But because your motherboard has this "Hyper M.2" slot, I can assume that it is only for NVME M.2 drives not for SATA M.2 drives.
And because I saw this on their official website
Supports the next generation PCI Express 4.0 M.2 SSDs, it is capable of perform twice the speed compared to previous 3rd generation, giving a lightning fast data transferring experience.
I think both slot were only for NVME M.2 drives.
But if possible, you can go to BIOS and check something on the storage section of BIOS.
I don't know how ASRock's BIOS look but that's all I can do.
@severe falcon
I feel like this bot is a scam tho. Did anyone get this message?
Nope
I forgot to mention something.
I think both slot were only for NVME M.2 drives.
Try installing it on the second slot and check the setting on the BIOS if possible.
Yes, one of them were only PCIe and the other one is PCIe and SATA
8 SATA3, 1 Hyper M.2 (PCIe Gen4 x4 & SATA3), 1 Hyper M.2 (PCIe Gen4 x4)
-according to their website
Carefully look up on the BIOS and set that port to SATA mode or something
It sucks #music-spam won’t take official uploads of music
Official uploads are usually the remastered versions
@severe falcon most dual M.2 slot mobos have to share the lanes or the port
so for example the SATA M.2 slot has to share 2 SATA ports with the onboard controller
while the 2nd NVMe M.2 slot most likely feeds off a 16x/8x slot
You can consult the manual which slot is which. Maybe there are info about setting up the SATA ports and the M.2 slots
My mobo is tied with the SATA_0 port and M.2 slot
meaning, they share the same lane
more like they share the same interconnect
since SATA M.2 SSDs exist
they have to connect to the SATA controller
and by doing that you have to sacrifice one or 2 ports
while NVMe SSDs usually need 4 lanes to operate properly so it's easier to just steal the lanes off the bottom slots
due to the limitation of the CPU and chipset
I sold 2 potato PCs, and my brother is planned to build a custom built PC.
10th gen Intel CPUs are still imminent for desktops yet.
@subtle hawk 1st of all it launches in a month
2nd of all why intel
Because
is kinda getting a chance of overheating of course, they said it's for the poor people.
it's not
rn AMD is the leader when it comes to CPU
more cores, faster instruction processing, less heat, less power draw, more affordable motherboards
Does anyone here have experience with using android emulators on linux? I really want to switch over to it, but I haven't really heard much about emulators.
you can emulate android on linux
you just won't have touch support
and you'll need to make a lot of the configs
Nothing I own other than my actual phone has touch support anyway. Would you say it runs alright performance-wise?
runs really meh
as nobody actually work on optimizing android emulators on linux
due to it being such a niche market
is there an emulator you'd recommend?
I'm a bit disappointed after the Work Unit server rejected my folding project

I like Asus
this is how a 3 yr old GPU looks like
speaking about dust, maybe gonna clean my PC again
It only takes 1 month to have dust inside

@midnight oriole i use genymotion on linux with an R5 3600 and GTX 1060. stable 60fps with about 10-20% load spread out across all threads. 700MB gpu memory usage with 15% gpu utilization. not the greatest performance but certainly very usable and better than anything else out there
it uses virtualbox as its hypervisor so you'll need to switch from any other type-2 hypervisor you're currently using unfortunately
it's pretty straightforward to set up but there are a few quirks that take 2 mins to fix but that'll stump you for a while if you aren't aware of them
feel free to PM me with questions if you decide to set it up
Ah yes that rooster is pretty fast
going old school again
i love my old school $100 wireless charging mousepad
kek
i got a PS/2 microsoft mouse
but no scroll wheel
actually i think it might have a scroll wheel? i dont remember

I got a custom built PC from yesterday.
Yeah, it's a prediction that
is the one I like. The six-core 9th gen Core i5.
Yeah
But at least GTX 1060 + i5-9400F is perfect for 1080p gaming.
My brother built that PC. Some parts such as BD-ROM drive, Wi-Fi 5+BT and GTX 1060 are actually mine since I bought them from eBay (WiFi+BT is from Walmart online).
lol i dont even have accommodations for external 5.25" bays on my case
same
tfw you use the cd-rom bays as space for even more storage
nothing a few zip ties won’t fix
I do have a special enclosure for disk drives
even doe I rarely use it
and a portable disk drive for that once in a blue moon occasion
I have a DVD drive but I transferred it to my family PC
Because of the design of my new case, it bumps into the ATX 24-pin connector when I install the DVD drive
So, that's why I use the outside PC just to burn blank CD or do something with a CD/DVD media
damn
note: it's running on VM
3d passthrough is hard
I'm even using the experimental D3D support during installation of the Guest Addition
Things get slightly broken displaying icons and text inside the VM
or worse, graphical glitches
win 7
didnt 7 EoL?
yes
I keep a copy of XP and 7 for archrival reasons but I would never consider running them on a exposed system
I have copy of Windows XP SP3, Windows 7 Ultimate (both 32 and 64 bit), Windows Server 2008 R2 (64 bit), and almost all different release version of Windows 10 (since Anniversary Update or Version 1607)
problem within my side is that I can't get the very latest ISO of Windows 10 because, 800MB per day of internet
And why I have almost all of these ISO is that every time Microsoft release their newer version of Windows, I always download it on the first 5 days since release.
Here at home
with the worst internet you can't imagine
I'm waiting for the may release to update
I'm waiting for the may release to update
Same, only if my mom's internet plan has still data left
What do you guys think about 5G network?
Conspiracy theories linking 5G technology to coronavirus have resulted in dozens of phone masts across the UK being vandalised in recent weeks. Theories about the dangers of 5G had already been circulating, despite regulators confirming that the radiation levels of the new tec...
I'm literally shaking my head with this technology and my country has this website to stop 5G from my country
Imagine if they're using 5G internet to male the website
"I used the 5G to destroy the 5G"
Bathing under the sun is much more dangerous than the 5G because the sun has UV rays that is an ionizing radiation
i'll just go back to do Linux things atm
5G is just another communication standard
the close range module has such a high frequency that it bounces off even paper
and the longer range stuff has already been used in other applications with no harm to anything
also nothing personally against you @restive rover but it irks me so much when ppl try to rub it in your face that they use linux or anything else that is not windows or macos
... meaning?
nothing just saying
nobody gives 2 cents what your OS of choice is
the only time I care is when they kneecap themselves in linux or some flavor of BSD just because "big corps are evil" or other stuff like that
The only reason why I'm using Linux right now is that I love to tinker
but, ye...
mind b0rk at 1am while doing something
i can't explain very well during these times
since most of the time those users can't really provide solid arguments as to why the use one over the other outside of just some sort of standing against the companies behind them
@vast sand got it thanks
Waiting for the X570 Aqua to be added in PCBS so I can make an Aqua-themed build
I mean, someone built a Hololive PC irl so why not
yeah I hate those "i use arch btw" people too
it's not even arch
any distro in general
does anyone here use blender? Also i just downloaded it and im a noob on trying to create wisdom cube
hold up
you see that little circle with squery bits?
if you have the cube selected you should be able to see it
this is what that tab will look like
now, were it says "surface", by default it has "principled shader" selected

if you click on it it'tll open a menu that lets you select a shader of your choice
for the wisdom cube, i suggest the "glass" shader
ok
now, if you look at it, it won't look like much, and that's mainly because you're looking at it from "solid mode"
yes, that's because you're in solid mode view
those
those things in the red rectangle are the varioues view modes
wait mb it's not very clear there
ok
i saw it
go ahead and click on them to see what they do, from left to right, wireframe, solid, material and render
I am able to change the view
yep
Material Preview i used
that's not how it'll look in the final render, material preview is used to get a general idea of what material is were
hmm
it's faster and less intensive on the cpu/gpu so it's great for when you just need to know what material is were when modelling
the right-most one is the rendered view
THAT is how your model will look like fully rendered
ok
also, since blender 2.8 they decided to switch to "evee" as default render engine
whats a good render engine? do they have more render engines there?
yes
were the arrow is pointing, that's the tab you go to to select the render engine and other effects related to the render
you don't have to worry about the other stuff for now, i advise you to watch a beginner tutorial and get a grasp of the basics and slowly work your way up from there, for now tho, from that tab, were it says "render engine" you can select the one you prefer
cycles is the best engine for rendering available to blender
I tried the cycles engine and i can almost see that it is looking like a wisdom cube lol
ye, i suggest spawning a plane, just to have a floor-like surface to place the cube on
how to add it?
shift+a
it'll give you a drop-down and you can select whatever you want
for a plane, shift+a>mesh>plane
you can move stuff around by clicking on whatever model you want to move
i added it and it looks weird
once you model is selected, press G and it'll allow you to move the object where you want
you have selected multiple things
double tap A to deselect everything
and then select what you wish to select
(also you don't have to stay in rendered view mode)
(for modelling, it's best to stick to either material or solid view mode since they are faster and less stressfull on your system)
i managed to select the plane and moved it down
good
should i enlarge the plane
if you want
select the plane, press S to scale it
btw, if you press G and then press the button for any of the axis, you'll move the object only along that axis
like for example, if you press G and then X, your object will move along the X axis
my god the rendering with the plane enlarged
yes
if you want to rotate stuff, you can select the object you want to rotate and press R
is the color matching of the wisdom cube?
it's more towards blue imo
yours color is closer to a greenish hue
but i don't think anybody will mind too much lmao
once you're done and you want to render an image, in the top, were you have file, and whatnot
there should be a render tab
render>render image
how to use a eyedropper
im trying my best to get the color from the wisdom cube in the file storage lmao
for the color?
ye
yep i see
ok
