#

I got this fucking thing sitting around that I bought.

#

But can't use cause I'm not using cable internet anymore.

#

I ought to resell it cause it wasn't particularly cheap.

#

My shit is rated for 300mbps

bleak owl
#

Better than mine

gloomy tinsel
#

wait what's you wifi monthly rate? for me its 6000¥

vagrant holly
#

imagine ISPs delivering on their promises Omegalilwoo

stone wave
#

Comcast, as shitty as they were did for me.

#

It never capped out the gigabit on speed tests

#

but when I was downloading it'd hit 30 MB/s +

#

when the source i was downloading from let it go that high

#

The advertised speed and your real world speed is dependent on a few things.
Where you are relative to the nearest node.
How much bandwidth is being use in your local area through that particular form of internet.
And how fast the source you're downloading from allows.

#

For internet connections that aren't fiber based the quality of the wiring can affect the speed too.

#

I was on VDSL years back but the wiring was literally rusting and that fucked my speeds until I had the wiring redone.

gloomy tinsel
#

on me the installation was done by the provider

stone wave
#

I had to have the wiring from my apartment to the junction box redone.

gloomy tinsel
#

Oh yea I know the box

stone wave
#

But yeah, after I switched to cable I went with gigabit... but I had a 1 TB monthly data cap which was funny.

#

Cause it was like having a 800 HP supercar but only racing from stop sign to stop sign.

gloomy tinsel
#

I don't think there is a cap but one day that is months ago on 2019

#

it drops to only 200mb/s

#

when I try to speed test it

stone wave
#

I don't think most places have a cap outside of the US and more rural countries.

gloomy tinsel
#

the cap is the FUP?

noooooooooooooo why did you get a range extender

stone wave
#

cause my router is in another room

#

and i don't want to run an ethernet cable across the fucking house

#

and IDK how one of those powerline things will work at my place

#

cause i share utilities with 2 other families

#

It ought to be powerful enough to handle more than 500 mbps since it only needs to go about 25 ft through 1 wall

#

Folks seem to be getting 5-15ms ping in speed tests so it should work for gaming.

#

My current thing only works @ 2.4 ghz and can't even max out my internet.

maiden plume
#

I remember back in the day I used our old laptop as a repeater to enhance the wifi signal lol PortDoll

stone wave
#

I just need the shit to be low latency and go at 300 mbps

What I know the pro can run game in higher fps

vagrant holly

pro has more features yes, but the normal user doesn't need them

#

no, that's not true

gloomy tinsel
#

Only that

vagrant holly
#

it used to be, windows had many versions

#

like windows 7 had home, ultimate and pro

#

ultimate gave you more performance

#

but now, there is only 2 versions

#

home and pro

#

windows 10 home is all you need

#

windows 10 pro simply has extra features for businesses, like advanced file encryption and networking capabilities

#

all features you most likely won't ever use

#

it doesn't give you more framerate, there is no difference between pro and home when it comes to gaming

(And now that I used it holy shit) its ur first case?

gloomy tinsel
#

How expensive is the water cool set really is?

quartz atlas
#

Depends

#

For a typical custom loop, add around $300 to your budget.

#

If you want hard fancy tubing, liquids, etc, add even more

#

If you want expensive high end water blocks

#

Prepare to shell out a few hundred for each cpu/gpu

maiden plume
#

Rule of thumb for water cooling is 1 component = one 120mm fan and radiator then + 1 for overclocking/headroom. Example for a cpu only loop would be at least 2 120mm fan + 240 radiator with 45mm thickness. Ek pump rez combos or AIOs just for cpu typically cost $150-250USD. Minimum for a full custom loop (1cpu, 1gpu) would be at least $400-600USD for water blocks, tubing, fittings, high static pressure fans, reservoir, pump and radiators. Not to mention tools like silicon inserts, heat gun, reamer and a saw/cutting tool for hard line tubing LOL.

#

So do you need to watercool? No. Is it cost effective? (Standard air, fans + cpu =$200-400max vs custom water which can range from $250-2000) Hell no. Maintenance? Drain loop every 6-8 months. Is it cool yep I went there though? Fuck yeah! Seriously though if you’re going for custom water and plan on overclocking to the max you better have highend parts. No one custom loops a 2070, non K CPU (if you’re intel or equivalent for amd) and has anything below a gold rated PSU.

maiden plume
#

TL:DR Watercooling is a mixed bag of fun and pain. It does cool better, sound better and look better. For a PRICE! UniFlex

What am I looking at

stone wave
#

I don't have a wired connection to my modem

#

so i got a wifi repeater but it's too big to plug into anything so it's connected to a cord saver and just sort of hanging there

#

and then i got a simple network switch plugged into it's ethernet out

#

and all my shit is plugged into the network switch

#

so i guess outlet saver

quartz atlas
#

Why not run a ethernet cable through your house instead? ThinkZed

#

Get one of those braided flat ones,

#

Run them along walls or ceilings

cause it looks ugly

#

this gets me the same throughput effectively

flint bobcat

i use powerline adapters and they run well

teal shale

I just use wifi bruh

Oh wait

Nvm im an idiot

#

My modem is just connected to an ethernet cable and we put it on a high shelf in the middle of the house

bleak owl
#

wifi unstable lul

teal shale
#

The biggest problem with wifi is the NAT type

#

Its 3 for wifi

#

But unless you are on PS4 its not THAT big of an issue

#

And ping is always less than 100 so its fine for games imo

#

The motherboard came with an antenna so its even more stable when downloading stuff

sage jacinth
#

I use a wired connection (almost) all the time. I have a NAS and want to ensure I can use the full 1000 mbps for my local network.

teal shale
#

Bruh 1000mbps i got 15 heh

stone wave
#

i don't feel like trying the powerline out cause i have shared utilities with 2 other separated units on the same property

wifi seems rather stable for me

but my place is small

i just turned my computer into a snail for my wifi problems

vagrant holly

why not the crosshair viii?

flint bobcat

Hm ill replace that then

vagrant holly

wait

#

IS THAT AN ACTUAL BUILD?

#

IS YOUR BUDGET LIKE

stone wave
#

why do you need 128gb of ram?

vagrant holly
#

NOT A CONCERN?

#

AT ALL?

stone wave
#

you ought to go with a custom open loop water cooling setup if you're making a build to flex

severe falcon

why do you need 4 TB of solid state

stone wave

vagrant holly

not just any solid state

#

nvme

stone wave

those are so over priced

vagrant holly

you better have some good fucking case fans

severe falcon

also 128GB of ram is beyond overkill

stone wave

you can get any other 2tb nvme for $260

id still look at you like youre insane for 64 GB

flint bobcat

severe falcon

stone wave

those NVMEs are so not worth tho

severe falcon

you will never need even half your ram

flint bobcat

stone wave

yeah and then DDR4 slaps your shit

#

*DDR5

flint bobcat

DDR5 when

severe falcon

yeah like make a computer thats good and will last a while

stone wave
#

whatever you get it's only good for 3 years of high end gaming

#

tops

vagrant holly
#

you can future proof for much less

severe falcon
#

like ive made my comp last 7 years, and i plan on making my next to last the same

stone wave
#

high end

severe falcon
#

and i can still play almost all the new games

vagrant holly
#

and the budget you save here can be used later on in upgrades

#

what monitor do you have anyway?

#

is it a 4k?

severe falcon
#

only thing it hates is ubisoft, but all comps hate those games

flint bobcat
#

Ubisoft

stone wave

vagrant holly

flint bobcat

vagrant holly

stone wave

just get cheaper nvmes

flint bobcat

i need that 5k rw speed

stone wave

those 600 dollar shits are a rip off

vagrant holly
#

also you don't need 128 gb of ram

#

64 is already overkill

#

128 is a mini server/workstation

flint bobcat

if I ever made a server, it wouldn't be rgb

severe falcon

severe falcon

oh nvm

stone wave

cop that 6400mhz shit

and pair with AMD

severe falcon
#

i read 3,500 MB/s as 3,500 Mb/s

flint bobcat

Is DDR5 technology even out yet?

severe falcon

stone wave

err the specs are out

severe falcon

technically yes

flint bobcat
#

oh

stone wave
#

SOON (tm)

severe falcon
#

arent graphics cards on GDDR6?

flint bobcat
#

soon™️

stone wave
severe falcon
#

i know they are different things, but you cant tell me theres NO overlap in technology between them

stone wave
#

beats me im not knowledgeable about the minutia

#

you gonna have to ask Yammy-chan about that

vagrant holly
#

wait for nvidia 3k

severe falcon
#

i dont want to ask yama, it always ends with me being bullied

vagrant holly
#

hopefully they figure out how to make a consistent rtx core by then

#

not that the 2080ti is bad, they really did improve since launch

severe falcon
#

im waiting for when they make the successor to SLI and crossfire

vagrant holly
#

i don't see sli and crossfire being of any use for gaming

severe falcon
#

and then make it hardware implemented instead of software implemented

#

uhhh

stone wave
vagrant holly
#

they'll always be a workstation deal

severe falcon
#

do you know what SLI does?

vagrant holly
#

each card renders one frame

severe falcon
#

or it renders part of the screen per frame

#

meaning less time is spent per frame, meaning you can up the visuals

vagrant holly
#

it still never really seemed worth the cost tho

severe falcon
#

well yeah

vagrant holly
#

and besides, nvidia already has a successor doesn't it?

severe falcon
#

no one will buy 2 2080 Tis

vagrant holly
#

nv link i think

severe falcon
#

but they will def buy 2 2060s

#

and thats where its performance was

#

cuz i had ancient ATi cards from 2010 that could beat a 970 when the 900 series first came out

vagrant holly
#

yeah, that was the theory at the time

severe falcon
#

its not a theory

stone wave
#

it'

severe falcon
#

it was fact

stone wave
#

s

vagrant holly
#

but more and more tests showed overtime that it's just better to just buy a better card

stone wave
#

its too much effort for the layman though

#

and that's where the money lies

severe falcon
#

well the problem is that it was up to the devs to add SLI support to the game

vagrant holly
#

ye

severe falcon
#

so like no games had it

vagrant holly
#

so they just threw it out the window because it wasn't giving as much performance as it could have

#

ultimately resulting in a waste of money

severe falcon
#

but if you pull an intel and just make it ALWAYS happen like with hyperthreading, then suddenly its a pretty good idea

vagrant holly
#

so it was always better to buy a more powerful single card

severe falcon
#

i doubt it was a waste of money

#

cuz why do they even make the 2060

#

why not just ONLY make 2080 Tis?

stone wave
#

I had what was it... 9600 GTX or whatever in SLI

vagrant holly
#

because 2080tis are 1k dollars

stone wave
#

it was useless

vagrant holly
severe falcon
#

yeah and i can pay like 500 for more than half the performance with SLI

vagrant holly
#

that said tho

#

i do wish sli and crossfire where actually useful for gaming

severe falcon
#

in total, i spent $50 apiece for my ATI cards

vagrant holly
#

because multi gpu setups look fucking badass

severe falcon
#

and they worked better than a $400 970

stone wave
#

its dead no one wants to develop the support for it though

severe falcon
#

yeah so the new one will have support no matter what

vagrant holly
#

you sound like a bitcoin miner

stone wave
#

maybe a bleeding edge game could have it

#

like... an entry into the Metro series

severe falcon
#

i mean i like having lower power cards rather than one beefy boi

stone wave
#

but the penny pincers publishing most AAA PC titles

#

no way

severe falcon
#

yeah thats why i said make it a hardware thing

#

like hyperthreading

stone wave
#

and indie games can either run on a potato are so unoptimized having another GPU would mean you run that shit at 20 FPS instead of 15

severe falcon
#

Python literally cannot physically multithread, but intel makes it hyperthread no matter what

stone wave
#

if the return on investment is viable then yeah

#

but if not, it's dead

vagrant holly
#

devs have made huge progress overtime, to the point where even a budget build can nearly max out a AAA game just fine

severe falcon
#

i mean if they do it, then bitcoin miners buy out all their cards

#

like they would be printing money

stone wave
#

is card mining still viable

severe falcon
#

you havent seen ubisoft

#

i mean mining itself isnt viable

#

cuz you get like fractions of a percentage of a bitcoin

vagrant holly
#

considering how the only people mining nowadays are either companies with basically hangars full of cards or crazy people who have a shed that makes .50 dollars an hour, no, mining isn't viable Omegalilwoo

stone wave
#

considering the case with Nvidia and FreeSync support, we'd need major changes for any serious headway to be made in multi-gpu support

severe falcon
#

tbh i would try to make a neural network to analyze the blockchain and look for some kind of pattern to increase chances of successfully mining

stone wave
#

Shit, I'd say Stadia has a better chance of catching on than multi-GPU support within the next 5 years

severe falcon
#

DEF NOT

#

oops caps

#

stadia is a good idea for anywhere other than the US

#

we have gigabit internet in my town and i have never seen it even touch 100 Mbps

vagrant holly
#

it's good for korea

stone wave
#

Stadia, or your internet?

severe falcon
#

internet for the entire city

#

its advertised as 1 Gbps

#

its more like 75 Mbps

stone wave
#

When I had gigabit it actually went at that speed if whoever I was as downloading from allowed for it to go that quick.

severe falcon
#

big assumption that our ISP can even provide that speed in the first place

#

they have literally been doing "construction" to replace the copper wire with fiber for the past 7 years
there has never been any construction

stone wave
#

ouch yeah it was like that for a while here as well

#

i got some sort of fiber to node DSL shit rn

#

i get a bit over the advertised speed of 300 mbps

#

(too cheap to pay for the gigabit)

severe falcon
#

we cant even get gigabit at home, its only for businesses

stone wave
#

i think what pushed ISPs here to finally start offering better speeds was 4k streaming becoming common place

severe falcon

kinda impossible, cuz the internet isnt fast enough to stream 4k video

my old, now bricked, mobo had 4 GPU slots

4x4?

stone wave

i have 2 but im using a vertical mount so i effectively have 1

maybe 4x8

quartz atlas

Also, Intel > amd BuckySmug

a model of a jet

What's the cost on the newest rtx 30s?

wait like actual jet?

heck i bet some dude has a working firebee

@severe falcon if you have a few billion to develop one sure

I mean if I would add a turbocompressor to the engine then I could push it past mach 1

quartz atlas
severe falcon
#

scale or real mach 1

subtle hawk
#

but good fuking luck getting one

#

real

quartz atlas
#

Material strength strong enough to withstand tho? ThinkZed

severe falcon
#

BRUH

#

yeah cuz its smaller

#

doesnt have near the leverage to break things

stone wave
#

you'd get in so much trouble if you send anything going supersonic without the proper permissions

severe falcon
#

not really

#

you dont need perms to make a bullet go supersonic

#

or a whip

stone wave
#

ofc a whip is fine but that's just being pedantic

#

i mean an rc model going supersonic would break windows and set off PD gun shot detectors

#

and make every dog go fucking ballistic

subtle hawk
#

I use the road near our garage as the runway for the model

severe falcon
#

i mean the window breaking pressure wave is cuz you have a gigantic fighter jet going past the speed of sound

#

a lil model plane wont break things

stone wave
#

car alarms would go off

severe falcon
#

probably

#

if you flew close enough

stone wave
#

like a tiny ass DJI drone gets you into trouble if you use em wrong

subtle hawk
#

good fuking luck breaking pane layered windows with a weee lil model

severe falcon
#

then again the fireworks of disney land can set off car alarms all the way in the parking lot

subtle hawk
#

US loves to put restrictions on stuff

severe falcon
#

if you mean "drone" as in quadcopter, thats cuz quadcopters are more of a privacy risk

stone wave
#

nah not just that

#

emergency service helicopters CANNOT fly near a drone

#

they just dont

#

not here in the us

subtle hawk
#

it's the US

severe falcon
#

yeah, which is why there are established heights that you cant go above

subtle hawk
#

the FAA is drunk

stone wave
#

so you get into a shit ton of trouble if they find a drone operator flying near a scene where a helicopter is needed

quartz atlas
#

You can't fly drones anywhere near icao certified airports

#

You'd get into major trouble

subtle hawk
#

that too

#

unless you have tower clearance

severe falcon
#

only if they dont attempt to stop flying when they know the helicopter is coming

quartz atlas
#

Imagine getting tower clearance for a drone to land at runway 02 EntyLUL

severe falcon
#

they cant be in trouble for not knowing things that cant be communicated to them

quartz atlas
#

And people planespotting seeing a tiny ass drone slowly land on the run way

subtle hawk
#

with my model I'll definitely need clearance

severe falcon
#

oh yeah

#

cuz yours makes a fireball if something goes wrong

subtle hawk
#

permission to buzz the tower kappap

stone wave
#

drones can easily be used for terrorism if terrorists weren't all dirt poor

subtle hawk
#

oy vey

#

don't give them ideas

severe falcon
#

lol not really

stone wave
#

dont worry Aria doesn't know where you live Yamato

quartz atlas
#

Oh

severe falcon
#

you would not only need a drone, but an anti-jamming system

quartz atlas
#

I still need to find out where aria lives

stone wave
#

Somewhere in Sac Town last i checked

quartz atlas
#

Cuz when I'm a pilot. I need to crash my plane into his house.

stone wave
#

Just look for the one with a giant Kawakaze on the roof

subtle hawk
#

technically my SDR can act as a transmitter

#

and it has a p strong amplifier

quartz atlas
#

With this statement, I'm probably barred for life from US airspace

severe falcon
#

but its not an anti-jammer

#

or anti-interference

subtle hawk
#

it can be a jammer doe

severe falcon
#

true

#

but canada will come after you

stone wave
#

there ain't gonna be jammers in a mall or a concert

severe falcon
#

that class B device cant be causing interference dontcha know

stone wave
#

RC models have been around forever but I ain't seen someone strap a bomb to a little RC truck before

severe falcon
#

uhh yeah for the first attack

#

but a jammer is EASY

stone wave
#

make a pseudo goliath mine type of deal

subtle hawk
#

RCXD

severe falcon
#

if you go wired, someone will notice beforehand, if you go wireless, it gets jammed

subtle hawk
#

there's jamming proof tech out there

stone wave
#

wifi, cellular network

severe falcon
#

yeah but making it yourself is hard and buying it probably gets you on a list

subtle hawk
#

but you need a fortune to be able to get it

stone wave
#

all you need is some fucked up college kid

severe falcon
#

i mean just do what was designed in ww2

stone wave
#

the guys working out of a cave ain't gonna do shit

#

but some crazy ass cult or some deranged guy with an education

severe falcon
#

identical punched strips on the transmitter and reciever, and you switch frequencies with it

#

now they have to jam ALL frequencies

stone wave
#

never know what sort of person is gonna be causing chaos

#

could be in a year, or 10 years down the road

severe falcon
#

or 10 years ago

#

humanity tends to be awful at using technology when it first develops

stone wave
#

look at that sarin gas atack in japan back i 95

severe falcon
#

like COMPLETELY TERRIBLE

#

holographic video chat is possible with tech they had in ww2

#

in realtime

#

heck, miku was possible before ww1

stone wave
#

the most advanced display technology was the CRT

severe falcon
#

yeah

#

guess when holograms were invented?

stone wave
#

are you talking about something projected on glass like Tupac?

severe falcon
#

1862

#

yeah

subtle hawk
#

optical holograms exist for ages

stone wave
#

or some scifi star trek type shit

severe falcon
#

theres no other form of hologram

#

at least, not that i know of

subtle hawk
#

there is volumetric holograms

#

but they're absolutely tiny

stone wave
#

i guess you can use mirrors and mirror a reversed TV

subtle hawk
#

our best bet with holograms is AR

severe falcon
#

you just have a pane of glass over the TV

#

slanted

stone wave
#

but back then you'd need god awful amounts of hot lamps to get any sort of viewable recording/video transmission going with the studio cameras of those days

severe falcon
#

they had TV running through radio

#

also thats the magic part

#

because the image is a signal meaning you can signal process it

subtle hawk
#

had

#

we still do

severe falcon
#

yeah

#

so you can do an outline filter on the image that the camera takes, then send it to the TV

subtle hawk
#

I can see the capital TV antenna from anywhere in the city

severe falcon
#

so you now have a lit outline showing up on the pane of glass in hologram form

subtle hawk
#

they also have a military grade satellite dish

severe falcon
#

only problem is the mechanical computer required to do the filter

subtle hawk
#

but my friend won't lemme touch it

#

reeeeeeeeeeee

stone wave
#

you could do a wired video telephone using TVs just prior to WWII

severe falcon
#

its def possible, but i dont think any human has existed with the knowledge to make it

#

the mechanical computer part, not yours

stone wave
#

IDK how far you'd get with a VHF transmission

severe falcon
#

yeah definitely skype couldve existed in ww2

subtle hawk
#

it has a data limit

severe falcon
#

but adding the holograms just makes it sound so much cooler

#

cuz we dont use them enough

stone wave
#

the ones i've seen are all shit

#

they require low light conditions

subtle hawk
#

fire you need to take in consideration manufacturing

stone wave
#

which means 1930's 1940's studio cameras would not work

subtle hawk
#

things "could" exist if they had the same manufacturing capacity as today

severe falcon
#

nono like

stone wave
#

also an analog low res video transmission isnt useful for anything other than entertainment

subtle hawk
#

back then things had a abysmal yield

severe falcon
#

everything i said except for the hologram actually EXISTED as a technology in ww2

#

im not saying make it better, im saying using the existing equipment with a few changes couldve made it work

#

cuz they had images and sound through radio from live cameras

subtle hawk
#

back in WWs cathode tubes were made by hand

#

so say from 100 only 4-5 were of good quality

severe falcon
#

yeah but they still made them

#

like the tech was ACTIVELY used

#

just not for this specific case

subtle hawk
#

because it was economically not viable

severe falcon
#

or they didnt think of it

subtle hawk
#

you can guess how expensive those components were

severe falcon
#

ok but how does any of this make it not possible

subtle hawk
#

because economy

#

you can do it

#

but not for everyone

stone wave
#

that's like saying they could have had transistors back in the 30's

severe falcon
#

so you mean to tell me that the live TV for the news broadcasts in black and white radio television during ww2 were not economically viable and didnt exist?

stone wave
#

or the white LED back in the 70's

subtle hawk
#

we could all fly to mars NOW

#

or hell even pluto

#

but economy

severe falcon
#

but SOME can

subtle hawk
#

those that can have other things to do

severe falcon
#

no like

#

its in the works

subtle hawk
#

well yeah

#

it's in the works to make it cheaper

severe falcon
#

so if ONE human can do it, that doesnt mean its possible?

#

its still impossible even though it could happen right now?

subtle hawk
#

economically yes

#

it would cost too much

severe falcon
#

you keep saying economically

#

SpaceX makes no economical sense

stone wave
#

it's like the deal with 5D storage

severe falcon
#

like at all

stone wave
#

it's been possible for like 10 years

subtle hawk
#

economics is not my field but you don't need that to know that to make things you need money

#

you don't have money you can't make it a reality

severe falcon
#

also the fact that if two news stations in ww2 set it up right, they could do the ww2 skype without paying a single cent more than they already spent

stone wave
#

if you find a chump to give you money that's one thing

severe falcon
#

but apparently possibility doesnt mean its not impossible

subtle hawk
#

fire they probably had 2 way transmission back then

#

in some lab

severe falcon
#

uhh

subtle hawk
#

or uni

stone wave
#

they did

severe falcon
#

how about RADIO

stone wave
#

first case iirc was in germany

severe falcon
#

ITS TWO WAY

stone wave
#

in the late 30's

#

with coax

severe falcon
#

man what if radio was only one way in ww2

subtle hawk
#

but it's literally impossible to give that to simple consumers

severe falcon
#

ok but we arent talking about everyone having it

subtle hawk
#

without spending decades making it cheaper, safer and more reliable

severe falcon
#

im saying its POSSIBLE

#

what about ITS POSSIBLE have you failed to get for the past 30 mins

subtle hawk
#

it's also possible to go to another solar system

stone wave
#

it's possible i can spontaneously combust in the next 24 hours

subtle hawk
#

but have we?

severe falcon
#

yama

#

give me ww2 news equipment

#

ill make it happen RIGHT NOW

subtle hawk
#

well yeah you will

severe falcon
#

but apparently thats still impossible

subtle hawk
#

because you have knowledge from the past 2 decades

severe falcon
#

uhh yama

#

you must have misheard me

stone wave
#

news equipment back then was a memo pad

#

maybe a reel to reel audio recorder

severe falcon
#

you dont need to change ANYTHING about the equipment

subtle hawk
#

yeah but people back then didn't know that

stone wave
#

there wasn't televised news back then

#

it was all radio or newspaper

severe falcon
#

there was

#

they had B&W radio TVs

subtle hawk
#

it's like me going back to the bronze age and show them how to make guns

#

they don't need to change anything

severe falcon
#

nono you seem to still miss it yama

#

if you give me the equipment, i literally do not have to change a SINGLE THING and can do the skype thing

subtle hawk
#

exactly my point

#

they don't need to change a thing since a gun is basically a pipe full of gunpowder and a slug

severe falcon
#

they had a TV that captured images and audio, converted it to signals, and sent it to TVs, now connect two of those systems and you get SKYPE

stone wave
#

the steam engine existed in Roman times, but the industrial revolution didn't happen until all the pieces happen to fall together

subtle hawk
#

just show them what they can do with it

stone wave
#

that's just how things are

severe falcon
#

hold on

stone wave
#

the what-ifs are all simply conjecture

subtle hawk
#

as the saying goes

severe falcon
#

neither of you understand

#

at all

subtle hawk
#

hindsight is 20/20

stone wave
#

yeah i dont get the point of the topic

severe falcon
#

its not teaching them how to make guns, its teaching them that their already made firework cannons can kill things if you point them at said thing

#

you do not change ANYTHING about ANY of their technology AT ALL

#

you just tell them "try this" and it works

stone wave
#

they'll just say it's a neat trick and point you to PT Barnum or something

severe falcon
#

but apparently thats illegal and still impossible becuase you two seem to think im taking back a modern desktop for them

stone wave
#

a lot of things get released that are new and interesting but don't take off

severe falcon
#

you still dont get it

#

at all

stone wave
#

then a few years or decades later when the idea rolls around it's popular

severe falcon
#

nothing about this is new

stone wave
#

neither of us get you

#

yeah you can

#

but what about it?

severe falcon
#

nothing has been invented in any way

stone wave
#

and?

severe falcon
#

THATS WHAT IM ASKING YOU

stone wave
#

you're giving us half a statement and we're trying to fill in the blank

severe falcon
#

i was just saying "hey it was possible to do this" and both of you said "no its fucking not"

stone wave
#

i straight up pointed out how it was possible

severe falcon
#

and now ive told you exactly how its possible and you two are like "so what"

stone wave
#

TV, mirror, glass bam tupac style hologram

severe falcon
#

am i not allowed to send messages on discord without some underlying goal?

stone wave
#

then coax wired live transmission

#

i never said it was impossible

#

just unpractical

severe falcon
#

and you were the one who related it to completely improbable things

#

like spontaneous combustion

stone wave
#

cause there was concise conversation point

#

so i just ran with Flobots - Handlebars.mp3

subtle hawk
#

I ran arguments.xslx

severe falcon

i ran test.py

what kind of flimsy ass DP cable is that
