Basically, when using a torp VG its expected that you will either trade quickly, annihillate other VG quickly, or get annihated fairly quickly but your BB aux will finish the enemy VG off quickly afterwards. Either way, there will be no VG to protect the enemy and that's when Hiryuu becomes cancer, enemy backlines will take direct targeted Ryuuseis to the face.

and when there are no VG's left, backliners get the reload buff which enables Hiryuu to do up to three fucking airstrikes all while completely invincible.

the universal reload buff is what tops it off making Hiryuu truly cancer.
