Vanguards are pretty much only light armor, and you want that chance to refresh BB fires
And with the movement speed and ranges, belgun spread isn't a bad thing vs vanguards

Using Uni over Shoho sounds like such a waste of time, especially if you are running another CV. You could make a case for it if you ran multiple VG ships, but will you? WILL YOU?
