Sanity system is not all that bad. What makes it annoying is because there is so much currency and materials to farm for. If they let up on some of the lmd requirements for leveling for example things would be a bit better.

the real trick is that two of the major methods of advancement (leveling up and getting an elite promotion) require, directly, huge piles of LMD. That pushes people into the most efficient LMD maps... and you can play that map like 4 times before your stamina is kaput

the real trick is deploying 3 fleets of 1:1 that you can rotate in a system so that you can maintain morale levels while you grind 24/7

With Azur lane and GFL you can totally make formations that can allow you to grind for days
