Basically it all started when they announced that they were gonna remove Pokemon from the national dex. Pokemon is inherently a collector game so obviously people were upset, but this alone isn't enough to definitively say it's a bad game. Their excuse for this was because they wanted to focus more on existing Pokemon to make their animations better
