So on top of doing different bits of research for Strikes, Weapons, and etc. I wanted to research some different Military gadgets that would not only fit WW3 very well. But, could do something different compared to already established Gadgets, Strikes, Weapons, etc..., or entirely add a new element to gameplay. Well, I thought it would be best to start with something that can already, generally speaking, take place in game, and do it differently. So, I'm going to start with the Thor Jammer, basically a Player carried Jamming gadget.
How it should work
- The Thor Jammer should be a Primary Gadget that, when activated, operates like a low frequency Jammer out to 10 meters and-
- Prevents enemy Claymores, C4, & Botfly's from detonating within the Jammer's effect range.
- Prevents enemies from Spawning on Squad Leader Beacon's in HC-Tac Ops when the Beacon is in the Jammer's effect range.
- Scrambles the controls of Mini Drones, Botflys', & Mecopteras' caught in the Jammer's effect range.
- Scrambles enemy Mini Maps when they're in the Jammer's effect range.
- The Jammer should operate on "Charges" with the Player having 2-4 charges by default and each charge lasting 20 seconds while needing to be resupplied via an Equipment Pack.
- When the Jammer is active, it should produce a sound that basically notifies those around the Player that the Jammer has been activated.
Why is this needed?
- Gives Players another Primary Gadget option.
- Provides Players a beneficial incentive to NOT bring a Med, Equipment, or Ammo Pack with them.
- Allows a little more composition variety to Squads.
- Opens up space for more Teamwork.
- Allows for new Teamwork Tactics to be utilized.
- Provides a reasonable, soft counter to Claymore Mines.
- Provides a soft means of removing some of the Supply bloat from a Match while still giving Players a Primary Gadget that will be useful to them.
- Gives the Equipment Pack more value.
