The Backpack System in WW3 is, at it's core, a generally good addition to the game that comes off half baked when you look at how almost everything works in it. Segregated Weapon Attachments, no clear indication of what attachments can be placed on what weapons, the fact that it contradicts the Weapon slot system, and more. In my opinion, it needs to be overhauled at some point. What I would suggest is the following-
Key Changes
- Move every Attachment & Gadget in the Backpack System over to the main Weapon Customization Branch and add additional categories if needed.
- Limit the Backpack to a max Carry Capacity of 5 or 6 Items of a Player's choosing (Aka Carry Capacity Slots.)
- Every Item in the Backpack takes up 1 Carry Capacity Slot.
What Items can a Player choose?
- Weapons - Players can choose whatever attachments they want that their Primary & Secondary Weapons have access to. However, they can only take one from each category of attachments (EG: 1 High Mag Scope, 1 Magazine option, 1 Secondary Ammunition, etc.) Secondary Ammunition should count as 2 Secondary Magazines should they choose to have both the Secondary Ammunition Slot & Backpack Carry Capacity Slot filled with a Secondary Ammunition option.
- ** Armors** - Players can choose to bring spare Body & Head Armor of the same type they currently have equipped.
- Secondary Gadgets - Players can choose whatever combination of Secondary Gadgets they want, choosing the same Secondary Gadget as is selected outside of the backpack should provide 1 additional of that Secondary Gadget (EG: You get 3 Frag Grenades if you choose Frag Grenades for both your Secondary Gadget slot & one of your Backpack Carry Capacity slots.)
