Drones in WW3 cover a large amount of ground in what all they can do. But, there is still room for more and this one, to calm the possible anger boiling up in the reader of the title, is to be an Anti-Drone Drone. The company that develops the Switchblade Drones is looking to make a version of the Switchblade into an Anti-Drone weapon that is capable of detecting incoming aerial drones, and eliminate them before they can reach their intended target. This is where I think the Switchblade could play a unique role in WW3, both as a Drone that actively seeks & destroys other Drones. But, also works as a deployable Defense for a Player's team. So, how can this work exactly?
How the Switchblade Drone should work
- Deploying the Switchblade should be very easy. Players should get a translucent Mortar Tube that they can place on a flat/flat enough surface with clearance being taken into consideration.
- Once the Mortar Tube is deployed an antenna with a glowing light next to the tube should turn Green to indicate it's active, but Red if it's inactive or doesn't have clearance to fire out of the tube.
- Once a hostile Drone enters the SB's scanned air space, the SB will fire out of the mortar tube, and fly straight towards it's target to explode directly next to it to destroy it.
- 1 SB alone should be able to destroy a Flying eye, Barracuda, Botfly, Mecoptera, Warmate LM, Bumblebee, & Reaper (so long as it's outside of the jamming radius) with no issue.
- 2 SBs should be required to destroy a Imugi
- 3 SBs should be required to destroy a Gargoyle
