In their current state, Concussive Grenades are underwhelming in every aspects.
What they do right :
-Throwing distance/arc
-Fuse time
They show the following problems :
-Weak blindness effect unless it blows literally in your face - even then it's very short
-Blindness is short and barely a hindrance if it blows more than 2 meters away from you
-Deafness is short and barely a hindrance if it blows more than 2 meters away from you
-No feedback on the thrower's side
-Only one in inventory at spawn unless the player resupplies
All these issues make the Concussive Grenade shunned by most players; I've been flashbanged twice in 170 hours of playing this game, and one was from myself.
Here are my proposals to make them a better, more viable breaching tool:
-Give players two Concussive Grenades by default
-Add a hitmarker + unique hit sound if enemies have been affected by the grenade
-Multiply by 1.5 or 2 both the radius and duration at which total blindness/deafness happen
-Lengthen the wearoff duration, doubling it sounds alright on paper but only testing can tell
-Make it trigger a voiceline for affected enemies (for immersion)
Concussive grenades should be a much more impactful tool to breach and take over an objective, and have the potential to allow unique play styles. As it stands now, they are too weak to even justify slotting.
