*Its the midst of Fall. The days grow shorter, the nights last longer. Its been raining a lot more recently. And I mean a lot more. You would think a hurricane hit. Just a bunch of storms, and the occasional lightening. All this ever since that new museum opening up not too far off.
At first people were outraged by it because of how much space it had taken up and all the small mom and pop shops that they forcibly, or should I say "coerced" into closing went out to make room for it. But now, even the authority figures who promised to do something about it stopped trying. Well..what would you expect from politicians. Whoever lines their pockets always wins, and Im sure those execs have a special piggy bank just for situations like this.
As a reporter, its my job to investigate situations like this, but thats become increasingly taxing. And Im not talking about the usual uncooperativeness. I mean everyone seems to be stopping me from doing my job. The authorities are putting more pressure than usual, the mayor seems to be tight lipped, and even my boss, who you would think couldnt resist a juicy headline seems to have gotten squimmish. Just what is going on. Its just a museum right? I mean..its a strange museum, but its just a museum...right?
Why is everyone so strung up about this. Thats my problem. Thats what makes all of this suspicious. If they had all just treated this like a normal new business popping up in town, none of this would be a bother. But the fact that everyone seems to be actively pushing away any type of public publicity is what has my alarm bells ringing and thats why...I became a reporter to tell the truth. To uncover secrets. To let the public know about...things. Anything. Whats that old saying? Nothing is true, everything is permitted. Scoff Wrong one. Oh well. Either way, today was another dead end. *
