I started playing yesterday in browser through pokepath and had a manual save. But after downloading it trying to play in the offline version and it says my save version doesn't match the client version. My save seems to be from v0.10.26. Whilst the client, offline and official site, seem to be on v0.10.25
Does this mean that pokepath has a custom version and I cannot keep playing it?

If you played the game from another website, you likely won't be able to use the same save in ours.

shame, I found out it wasn't the official one after it crashed

No idea what Poképath is, though, lol, and why it's in 10.26.
I recommend you start over on the official version.
