Pc Freezing then screen goes black

It started to happen alot more recently everytime I either swap tabs or load something it would have the chance that my pc would freeze and then my fans would speed up really quick then my screen goes black. Then im forced to turn off the power button which ends up making my graphics card become disabled in device manager.

What is your GPU, and do you have steam?

I had this issue with the steam overlay, try turning that off + Nvidia overlay if applicable.

My gpu is the amd 7900xt, would steam overlay affect games outside of steam too? With the freezing that is

Ah, not sure on that one then. I had this issue and it was steam, no issues since turning off the steam overlay, I have a Nvidia 4070 TI Super, so I'm not sure it's the same issue for AMD, I'm sorry :c
