#Upgrade advice

Hi all,

I have a machine which I bought from CPUK myself a good 3-5 years ago which has a 2600X and at the time a 1060 6gb. Due to failure I have since replaced the 1060 with a 3060 12gb and I’m now looking to upgrade my other components as they are bottlenecking and are a bit outdated. I will also need new RAM as whilst I have 32gb this is very slow ram by today’s standards

Could anyone advise of a good motherboard, cpu, ram and cooler combo for upgrading? I intend on using my existing NZXT H510 case, unless airflow may be a problem, and also intend to keep my GPU.

Don’t want to spend too much, maybe around 500-600, so ideally looking for best value for money. If the CPU is better than the GPU this is ok as it will allow for GPU upgrades in the future

PS. The pc is used mostly for working, which involves modding games, namely GTAV (and potentially GTA6 in the future)

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks

Alfie

as a previous cyberpowerpc uk customer you can contact CPUK directly to get access to their upgrade program - you just need to provide your previous order number with what parts you'd like

i recommend these parts as an upgrade:

  • Fractal Design Celsius S36 360mm AIO
  • Ryzen 7 9700X
  • MSI B650 Gaming Plus Wi-Fi ATX AM5 Motherboard
  • Corsair Vengeance 32GB DDR5-6000 Memory

# azure junco Hi all, I have a machine which I bought from CPUK myself a good 3-5 years ago ...

Hi Alfie,

For your budget of £500-600, focusing on value and future-proofing, here’s a balanced upgrade list:

  1. CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X (~£140)
Strong single-core performance ideal for gaming and modding.

  2. Motherboard: MSI B550-A PRO (~£120)
Good VRMs, PCIe 4.0 support, and future upgrade potential.

  3. RAM: 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 3600MHz CL16 (~£100)
Corsair Vengeance LPX or G.Skill Ripjaws recommended.

  4. Cooler: Arctic Freezer 34 eSports DUO (~£40)
Efficient and quiet cooling for the Ryzen CPU.

Airflow Note: Your NZXT H510 is fine with proper fan placement. Consider adding an extra front intake fan if temps are high.

This setup balances performance with future GPU upgrades and keeps within budget.

if already switching platforms why go for an already deprecated platform (i.e. am4)

Ohh ok, and they send me the parts?

frosty sand

i think you send them your PC and they install the upgrades

azure junco
#

Ah I see, that could be a bit of pain in the arse

#

does it work out a lot cheaper to do it that way?

#

@frosty sand ^ sorry for tag

i'm not sure, but i think they just give you the prices as they have them - so it's wholesale price i think?

#

you'll have to ask CPUK directly for more details on prices - they won't mind you enquiring about specific part prices

ah wicked that’s quite good

I will contact them on Monday then
