what's your budget?

lavish river
#

I’d hoped to spend £2500 for the pc with a little extra budget for monitor and mouse keyboard etc. I’ve changed somethings around from my last build to bring the price down. But any suggestions would be greatly appreciate

hazy hornet
#

i'd definitely change a few things - i'll remake the config and send it here in a second

but i recommend going elsewhere for monitor/keyboard/mouse - cyberpower don't have the best selection available

lavish river
#

The one I’ve selected that’s on offer on their site. Is that one not a decent 4k monitor? Thank you again.

hazy hornet
#

it's a VA panel, so the viewing angles aren't the best - i advise going for an "IPS" monitor which is a type of monitor - it's the most recommended for gaming

#

I was looking at that kinda Info before but I saw the discount and I guess I didn’t bother to read much else thanks for the advice 👍

#

Anything will be better than the old cctv monitor I was running on my old pc a few years ago

the 5080 is 10-20% better than the 5070 Ti but costs like £300 more - so it's not really worth it

lavish river
#

That’s a fair assessment I guess. I was looking at a 5070 ti when I started but I got a little greedy. Is that SSD a reliable option I know it’s a bit of paranoia but I have to ask.

hazy hornet
#

yeah they're pretty good SSDs

from a user experience perspective, there's very little noticeable difference between the MP700 pro from corsair, and something half the speed

it's not realistically going to be very beneficial in any scenario except when transferring super large files - so it's not worth the price hike

#

like my laptop has a drive that can do 7000MB/s (similar to the one in the PC i just sent you) and it boots in less than 10 seconds

lavish river
#

So do you think this would handle 4k gaming just fine on higher setting or would this be more in the middle

zinc hornetBOT
#

cprgbglitch :tada: Congrats @lavish river, you levelled up to 3! :tada: cprgbglitch

hazy hornet
#

it's probably more aligned with 1440p, but 4k is possible on it

lavish river
#

Also out of curiosity do you work for cyber power or just help out in the discord. I wanted to ask about some of their ultra care options and the warranty stuff. To see if they make much of a difference

hazy hornet
#

the 5070 ti is similar to a 4080/4080 super in performance - so it's definitely 4k ready, but 1440p is obviously going to run better

hazy hornet
#

the ultra care things aren't necessary IMO

#

the delivery's insured so even if there is damage, it'll just get repaired/replaced

lavish river
#

That’s good to know. How are they for cable management

#

I want to say again thank you so much for this your really helping to take the stress out this purchase

hazy hornet
#

pretty good tmk - they keep it quite neat regardless of if you buy the extra tidy cable management package or not

hazy hornet
#

so it'd be 29/99 + 20%

#

IME hardware either breaks (i.e. unpredictably/randomly stops working) within the first few weeks or lasts for years

#

and CPUK wont make you return the whole system if you're confident replacing a part yourself (e.g. if the RAM stops working and you're in warranty, they'll do a door swap, new ram for old ram)

lavish river
#

Is there any minor upgrades I should consider for this pc. I know that should a miracle happen and 5090’s drop to a reasonable price that all my components except the power supply would be able to be used along side the card so it’s set in that sense.

Also I didn’t know that. I feel comfortable being able to switch over components like that so that’s even better to know thank you

hazy hornet
#

i wouldn't recommend upgrading to a 5090 from a 5070 Ti or 5080 (whichever you end up going with) - you'd be effectively wasting money (because you will have already bought the 5070 Ti/5080)

but in terms of futureproofing it's not a bad system - the 850W PSU will probably last for a generation or two more (so 2-4 years) in terms of upgrading to an xx80 sku GPU

so if you wanted the 6080 you could probably use it with an 850W PSU

the corsair PSUs are particularly reliable - they have the lowest failure rates of any PSU brand

your system's pretty much ready for any upgrades you want to do though

lavish river
#

Thanks for all of this I’ll probably order it within the week. Massive help thank you
