GPU is in the reinforced top pci-e
can you not put it in the second slot?
i could but it would be a tight fit and might bend the connection because gpu will sort of be resting on it
theres a smaller one but im unsure if it would fit inside
i had cyberpower PC build my PC originally but when it comes to upgrades ive kind of slightly wished i had added some of these things to my orderr xD
:tada: Congrats @rotund steppe, you levelled up to 1! :tada:
because they chose the easiest m.2 location
the other 2 are kinda hard to get to with my gpu inside
i just had a look at the elgato 4k capture card - you'll need at least a x4 slot, tmk you only have an x1 slot (the smaller slot underneath your second x16 slot) which was my original idea... your only options are to risk it and hope the GPU doesn't take up too much space (when the capture card is in the second x16 slot) or get a riser unfortunately
think the small one is a x4
the other is a x16 i think
the gpu is in the steel one at the top
are you sure it's not an x1 slot?
idk ill need to google
gpus in that one
and the black one under it looks like the same kind
so id imagine theyre the same kind
np x
yeah the small one's just an x1 slot unfortunately
am i right?
the elgato 4k capture card requires gen 2x4 - that slot is gen 3x1 (equal to gen 2x2 which isn't enough unfortunately)
still trying to figure out where the 3rd m.2 slot is
:tada: Congrats @rotund steppe, you levelled up to 2! :tada:
because everythings got a cover
they're a little hidden - the diagram showing where they are only pointed out two of them 😭
wonder why only 2 get a heatsink
kinda wanna upgrade my pc and not have to open it other than to clean it is why i wanna know xD
openend my old gaming laptop and took out its fans and they where like carpet caked full of dust
actual toaster of a thing its average temp was 96 degrees Celsius playing helldivers
still works to my surprise
if ur interested in doing major upgrades to your PC you can always ask CPUK for their pricing (if you're an existing customer) - they have an upgrade scheme where you can send them your rig to upgrade
but you'd have to contact them directly
think id rather just ask em how
i live really far away
what are you planning on upgrading
from anything
ahh ok
just memory currently and maybe get some sort of capture card

how much storage you need
was thinking like them
currently i just use a plug in ssd
in a thunderbolt 3 usb
its ok
but i wonder when itll die
ive had it for a while
you can always check the health of it using a tool like crystaldiskinfo
better than i thought
boots on 99
but considering ive had that one for like 3 or 4 years now
not bad
its some unknown amazon brand ssd
that was cheap at the time
tbh my boot drive died within a year - it was still under warranty though so i RMA'd it and i got a new one
was my laptop when i was cleaning it was quite surprised how easy it was
ive had to full replace its screen too
when i was a laptop gamer xD
i used to have a gaming laptop - ran quite hot but it did the job
weirdest thing to melt the glue on the screen
like holding the panel in
was fill socks full of rice
and microwave the socks
so theyre boiling
and rested them on the back of the screen to melt the glue xD
I couldnt believe it worked
:tada: Congrats @rotund steppe, you levelled up to 4! :tada:
for the clips
hot rice socks; i've heard it all
i used thick gutair picks
but ya know those kind of screens dont have a make
not really
so i had to get it out in one peice to see the sticker on the back
15.6",FHD (1920 x 1080) 16:9,Refresh Rate : 300Hz LQ156M1JW25 and from that i got this
300hz is crazy 😭
and it comes up on amazon if you search the serial number
which was really surprsing
yeah 300hz panel
never got near it though
xD
in fps
ROG Strix G15 G513 2021 Laptop
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800H with Radeon Graphics
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX™ 3070 Laptop GPU aswell as AMD Radeon HD integrated
Display: 15.6",FHD (1920 x 1080) 16:9,Refresh Rate : 300Hz LQ156M1JW25
Main Drive: 1TB M.2 NVMe™ PCIe® 3.0 SSD
RAM: 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-3200mhz Samsung SO-DIMM
barely reached 60fps
where the specs for that
it was weird though
because it would use integrated gpu for a lot of things
like trying to turn up the gamma on games like tarkov wasnt possible because of that strange feature
mine did that too, i had to change some weird settings to get it to use the GPU
when i was cleaning it the battery connector scares me it would arc when i reconnect it
but yeah laptop did its job
now its used for netflix
and rarely games
crazy specs for netflix 💀
yeah it has wifi built in - there's not too much to do with an x1 slot honestly
you can get USB expansion cards which are sort of useful
i don't have one but if i ran out of USBs and i didn't want to use a hub i could use that
bit pricey 💀
can you take the picture like level with the bottom of the GPU so i can see how far down it goes
it might fit a capture card honestly
the only potential concern is GPU cooling, it'll block the fans a little
wdym
:tada: Congrats @rotund steppe, you levelled up to 5! :tada:
oh im blue now
what somthing like that?
idk if that would be better xD
or that
????
you'll want x16 to x4 or something similar
x4 to x4 will work too since it's the same slot
this is assuming that your capture card is in fact x4 btw - it's elgato right?
yeah
is what i had in mind yeah
8K60 passthrough, 4K60 capture! VRR and true 10-bit HDR. 4K Pro turns your high-end PC or dual PC setup into the ultimate streaming machine, and leaves your gameplay alone. Equipped with HDMI 2.1, you can even play in high resolutions at high frame rates, like 4K240, and capture ultra-smooth 1080...
that one
yeah it'll need an x4 slot (which works with x16 also)
was trying to find if i could get a matching heatsink for that m.2 slot
look at this monster i found instead
massive
xD
😭
Thermalright HR10 2280 SSD Cooler,2280 SSD Heatsink cooling,Double-Sided Heat Sink,2 Heat pipes, with Thermal Silicone Pad for SSD PC and Computer(Silvery)
it has a fan too
xD
theres a video
so unnecessary 💀
showing its "features"
hahaha
thermal paste too
it looks like
was hoping the reviews would be funny
just people complaining about the fan being crap
what do they expect its under a tenner
some people using a hundred quid drive
with a 7 quid heatsink that looks like it was made by Temu
