Hi! I currently have a PC that's showing signs of just needing upgrading/replacing

This is my current build: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/qVkLBZ and honestly I had a lot of help when I was building that so I'd say I'm still a bit of a newbie to this so I was hoping for suggestions of what you would recommend replacing and what to replace it with OR what build you would recommend if you think I'd be better just starting from scratch. Budget is £1000-£1500! Thanks in advance for any help 🙂

# cunning isle Hi! I currently have a PC that's showing signs of just needing upgrading/replaci...

i don't think you'd be able to get the most futureproofed system with the current specs - you'd have to replace the mobo, ram, cpu, gpu, psu and probably the drive too

you should contact CPUK directly - they have an upgrade service if you're an existing customer and they'll be able to give you prices for upgrades

this means you send them your current PC and they carry out the upgrades for you

if you're fine with upgrading a large portion of your system i'd advise on at least getting:

  • new CPU, probably a 7800X3D or 9800X3D
  • new motherboard (required for AM5 CPU)
  • new RAM (required for AM5), DDR5 6000MHz is the sweetspot for AMD
  • new GPU (9070 XT is a good value GPU rn)
  • new PSU (required for CPU/GPU upgrade)
something i highly recommend you upgrade:
  • boot drive, you're currently using a SATA SSD which is fast, but it's nowhere near as fast as an M.2 NVMe drive
  • monitor, while not strictly necessary and mostly up to preference the 9070XT is a great card for 1440p gaming so you could consider an upgrade to a 1440p monitor

for specific prices you should ask CPUK directly

lmk if you have any questions
