I bought parts for a PC in June and built it in August of this year.
Original specs:
AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU
Thermalight Peerless Assassin 120 SE CPU cooler
MSI Tomahawk x670e Motherboard
Corsair Vengeance 32GB RAM x2
Samsung 990 Pro 4TB SSD x2
Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super Eagle OC GPU
Corsair RM1000e 1000W PSU
Corsair SP120 Case Fans x6
Corsair 4000D Mid Case
Had really weird crashing, its inconsistent, happens on most higher end games - mostly when transitioning to new areas, like from hideout to kingsmarch in path of exile. Its also crashed on overwatch 2, FC25 and spiderman 1 remastered.
The crashes were all different types.
The worst ones were when the monitors would disconnect and the fans would go up to 100%
Sometimes it just freezes all monitors but i can still hear audio, and other times it just crashes out of the game
When we turn the computer back on, sometimes theres a second or two of a green screen, sometime showing the frame it crashed on before i force restarted it.
I replaced the GPU with a similar model - a 4070 Super this time by ASUS.
Since replacing it i havent had any monitors dc, fans go crazy crashes, but have had freeze screens.
Heres a list of other things we've tried:
benchmarks (all clear), checking for crash logs on who crashed and event viewer (none), double checking temps on HWINFO (all clear), checking cables in the case, using DDU and reinstalling graphic drivers, updating motherboard drivers and we did a complete clean reinstall (no data saved) of windows 11. We also ran mdsched.exe and that came back clear as well.
So far nothing has fixed it and we arent sure what parts could be causing this.
At this point, we're probably looking at replacing parts that could be the cause - PoE2 EA comes out in a few days and we need the PC working for launch.
If anyone has any ideas, please let me know! I will literally try anything at this point.
