- a 4090 is quite a bit faster
30% extra performance is nothing to scoff at

Not really. Refer to hardware unboxed.
I would not spend money on 4090 unless have a 4k monitor with high refresh rate

All tests using a 4090, there's a clear difference between CPUs.
Yeah, not familiar with AMD 3D 
I don't really see the point for the 900x3d, it's the worst of both worlds, being slower than a 7900x at rendering and slower than a 7800x3d in gaming.
Nowadays because the windows scheduling issue is fixed, the 7950x3d consistently matches or beats the 7800x3d, for gaming it's negligible
