hello, so ive had my pc for nearly a year now, recently ive noticed that my fans are louder and my watecoolant temp has increase to its 40s when im only playing runescape atm.
my fans are blowing out cool air. could someone take a look at my temps to make sure everything is in order? it just doesnt seem normal for these temps when just playing runescape.
#are these temperatures normal?

Yeah them temps are looking pretty normal it’s all fine
@clever ridge so it's normal for the fans to be loud
Yeah, the coolant temp is 40 degrees, the weather is hot outside so yeah is normal
Plus you have set them up on extreme, of course they will be loud. If you put them to normal will be fine
what temps should i be worried at?
okay thanks i get very very nervous when it comes to my computer and temps
Over 85 degrees
The temps are all fine, even tho sometimes is spiking, is normal, giving the temperature outside is warm
the coolant did go over 45c when i was playing league
All fine, the temps outside is a factor to these temps
yeah its pretty warm today, rn its at 41 just playing runescape.
:tada: Congrats @spare pasture, you levelled up to 12! :tada:
@barren finch it went to about 45-46c
Ahaa, all good
so its normal?
Very normal
if i take my fans off extreme will it make a difference
Just put them on balance, always have them on balance
Quiet is my preference as they will ramp up if needed
But if it's really hot balanced is good
okay thanks
This is what it sounds like, I do have 9 fans so many that plays into it. I dunno just seems loud
When my room is cool
More fans do not equal more noise
is there anything i could do to make it quieter and cooler
No, there is not such a thing while playing intensive games
Is normal to be a bit louder to lower the temps
Put the fans on balance and take a 20 minutes break to let the components to cool down a bit
RuneScape is intensive? And it is on balanced now. Been like it all day but no difference in sound
It shouldn't be too loud, are they all the same fans?
All controlled by icue?
RuneScape is CPU heavy game, doesn't matter if is a small game
Is still have lots of texture and stuff to load which can be heavy for CPU. Limit the FPS to 80-90 and you will see decrease in temps
Games like that doesn't require a massive lots of FPS, and I always recommend to limit the FPS
One of my things which I get judged for but is a good thing to limit your FPS. Games are more stable while they FPS are maintain at certain level
I have single players limit at 80, competitive at monitor refresh rate
its already limited to 50
That sounds really loud though
Something else might be at play. Can you check in the bios if the fans are pwm or DC?
how do i do that sorry?
Turn the PC off, turn it back on and spam DEL until you are met by the bios
and itll tell me there?
In the bios press F7 or if you see hardware monitor click on that
Then take a photo
It very quiet now
You change anything or just in the bios?
Maybe icue is messing shit up, hm
Is it that quiet idle in windows?
Obviously a bit louder BUT shouldn't be going full blast
I’ve not touched anything to do with fans
Yeah
So if it's in the bios whisper quite that noise should translate into idle (may be a little louder)
I'm thinking icue is screwing around something, maybe uninstall it and see?
It’s still quiet when I’m just sat in windows, but everything popped up and the fans got louder so once I closed all the apps it went quiet. It’s abit louder than in the bios but not too much
Ok that's good
We didn't do anything - so I'm not sure what's happened?
Well this is idle
Yeah
I’m not playing anything. Ill open discord and RuneScape and see the difference
Sounds good.
Yea
Nothing changed, it’s quiet. I’ve got discord, RuneScape and icue open. Coolant is at 33-32c
Maybe I’ve got too much booting up? The sound got quieter once I task managed things
Was it a fluke?
Yeah
Honestly, that noise sounded very abnormal
I wouldn't be surprised if it's a fluke
Lemme restart and show you what it sounds like when I don’t task manage things
It might be cos my room is cold now?
I’m confused even more now
Yeah but the noice difference is very different
Yeah.
for me its way quieter than before
That's good
Right open up icue
Then go to the fan curves or whatever and take a screenshot
Nah where you set it to quiet etc
All seems okay
maybe it was just stuck
