Was it a windows update? I imagine doing so has probably corrupted some of the files

Can you get into bios before it restarts, you might want to boot in safe mode and do a repair

zenith walrus
#

Turn off the pc and when turning back on press f8

#

Or in bios turn on safe mode and boot it in safe mode

#

Hopefully that at least gets you back onto your desktop

zenith walrus

Press and hold f8 when restarting pc

balmy sonnet
#

zenith walrus
#

What make

balmy sonnet
#

msi

zenith walrus
#

Is it msi asrock asus etc

balmy sonnet
#

its only letting me get into bios by spamming del

zenith walrus
#

Have you tried f8 on restart

balmy sonnet
#

yeah and it doesnt do anything just repeats the cycle of restarting

#

im in my bios thought thats the only thing i can do

zenith walrus
#

When does it restart itself

#

After you exit bios?

balmy sonnet
#

it shows the msi symbol then instantly

#

when booting up

#

then instantly restarts

zenith walrus
#

Try that to get into secure boot

#

If your bios look like that

balmy sonnet
#

i dont have the BIOS CSM option

zenith walrus
#

Is there a “security” section bottom right?

balmy sonnet
#

wait hold up

#

i did enable secure boot and now it is frozen

zenith walrus
#

On what screen

balmy sonnet
#

its frozen once i applied it

#

should i just restart by the plug

zenith walrus
#

I mean I wouldn’t suggest it as it could cause more issues, is it frozen completely and can’t use any mouse or keyboard inputs?

zenith walrus
#

Also is it a cyber power pc or custom?

balmy sonnet
#

its fully frozen i csnt do anything

zenith walrus
#

Strange one

#

I would contact support, but you can try restarting it if you’d like

balmy sonnet
#

Powering down during windows updates can corrupt the OS making it impossible to startup

#

The idea was trying to get into secure boot so you could get onto windows and then do some advanced startup and repair

#

Which would then hopefully repair it for you

balmy sonnet
#

i restarted and am now on secure boot but its not worked still doing the same thing

zenith walrus
#

So you’re stuck in bios?

balmy sonnet
#

no i mean the restarting thing

#

im back in bios now

zenith walrus
#

So it boots up and then restarts and just continues this without touching anything?

balmy sonnet
#

yeah

zenith walrus
#

Crazy

#

Windows 11?

balmy sonnet
#

i was windows 10 but it keeps forcing me to update to 11 so this was probably the update to w11

zenith walrus
#

Ah

#

Yeah I would imagine that would’ve corrupted the os completely

#

Do you have like a usb with windows on it

#

Or disc

balmy sonnet
#

nope

zenith walrus
#

Ah

#

So it came pre installed?

#

Windows I mean

balmy sonnet
#

it did but i have someone who does have windows on a stick

zenith walrus
#

I would contact customer service

#

Not much else I could suggest really other than wiping everything and starting from scratch with new windows install

#

But I’m not an expert so definitely contact support first they might be able to suggest something

balmy sonnet
#

okay

zenith walrus
#

Just in future never restart or power off pc doing updates ahaha

balmy sonnet
#

yupppp

balmy sonnet
#

@zenith walrus ive got the hard drive in but its still doing the restart thing what should i do

zenith walrus
#

What hard drive

#

Do you mean the usb hard drive with windows on it?

zenith walrus
#

You would’ve needed to factory reset the pc beifre you can reinstall windows

#

Ah

#

You ok with factory resetting it?

balmy sonnet
#

yeah

zenith walrus
#

If it’s plugged in, in the bios there should be a boot order section

#

Not sure where it is on msi boards

#

Might be in the uefi menu

balmy sonnet
#

so i think the problem is that the bios is corrupt, ive removed the hard drive so it boots to my USB but still continues too restart. im just unsure on what to do now as i think its a motherboard issue when updating it has corrupted my bios files

zenith walrus
#

Have you rang support they will definitely be able to help

#

Can you not navigate the bios?

#

You can change boot order so usb boots first so didn’t need to remove hdd

balmy sonnet
balmy sonnet
zenith walrus
#

Ah right

#

Yeah not a clue then mate unfortunately

#

If it won’t even boot from usb I would imagine there is something wrong with either the mobo or bios
