:one: Shut down your PC and unplug the power cord from the wall.
:two: Locate the CMOS battery (see the image below). On some motherboards, you may have to remove the graphics card in order to access it.
:three: Remove the CMOS battery from the motherboard by pressing down on the clip and pulling the battery out.
:four: Hold down the case power button for three seconds while your PC is unplugged.
:five: Install the CMOS battery back into the motherboard and plug the power cord back into the wall.
:six: Plug in and turn on your PC.
A video guide is also available below
So it could be the cmos
It could be the RAM but this is a step
Its not the cmos at fault but this is just resetting the BIOS
to get rid of any potential weird wacky stuff
Oh
And it looked like it was registering the ram
So it works?
But then I closed it and then the pc was not liking that
Reset the CMOS
Brill
I’m just trynna sell this pc 😂
I don't recommend eating the battery
So luckily I didn’t sell it before doing this
Eating the battery is quite toxic
yeah I don't recommend it for dinner
Gotta enjoy abit of lithium
Lunch maybe
or maybe as a quick protein snack
If it can power a car it can power me
Again, I don't think anything is broken, just gotta do some tinkering
tinkering to me is putting a hammer through it
😬 nononono
Ik not too I’m trynna get money for the misses’s holiday
Connect what sorry?
The monitor
It’s registering no display when I plug into the gpu
But it has an Intergrated graphics
So I think it’s running that
Plug it in to the GPU?
With IGPU what happens?
Okay
Use only one ram stick
How would that change
Try it
Didn’t work
I think it’s the cable
It don’t like trying to put dvi into a hdmi lead
Im gonna go pick up a vga
Bro I ain’t got one lieing around I threw it away
Cause I had to use splitters for the new pc
No the graphics card was working
And that was running hdmi to hdmi
I never had a problem with Intergrated when I used it at first
Only thing I can get rn is a vga to dvi
run out to your local tesco and get a nice hdmi cable
Can’t use hdmi cable
Intergrated graphics don’t have hdmi ports
Yeah they do#
Mine even has a Display port
But maybe your motherboard doesn't have it
Mine must not
Anyway I’m gonna go grab a dvi I just got one off Currys
Says I can go collect it now so just gonna wait for the confirmation
So we shall seee soon
@blazing silo last question for you will any kettle lead work on a psu as I threw the old one away before thinking and I’m selling the pc to someone
Use the one you were using to get rid of any potential issues
but generally no it should be ok
I’m going too for me
I’m just saying I got a new pc
And that’s my new pcs lead 😂
So I kinda want to keep it with it
@blazing silo it don’t work
Taking that out and putting it back in has fucked my pc up
So looking like a scrapper
Ouch, maybe you did something that damaged it physically
take a looksie around
Maybe the RAM isn't in properly
Maybe you put it in the wrong slot
I took 1 slot out
The only thing that changed was that little 10p battery thong
Thing
I took it out put it back in and now it’s broke
Like the pc powers up
I have no clue
is it fitted back in correctly
you would be surprised
It’s in the right way around
Did you click it in properly?
I heard it click
It’s in
But yh the pc is fucked
Now it’s permanently resetting
Anything showing on screen?
Huh?
Your GPU needs to be plugged in?
No?
Or is it one without a connector
That looks like a connector
Watch the video
take a better picture
You can see the cpu turning off
Yes on the board maybe
But Ik the graphics card works
That NEEDS a connector
If its there it needs it
It’s registered it for years
Don't matter, have you been using the IGPU?
yeah that does look like the GPU needs a connector
What I’m bothered about is the full computer is not working
The GPU not having a power connector can cause this???
Thats why we are troubleshooting the obvious
Computers can do wacky things, That can be the problem its not working now
It did the beeping
I can’t
Why?
My 1050 does not come with a connector
Take it out then
Doesn't matter, its not got power
it can cause the whole computer to not even power on
It’s running of the i gpu as that is it’s standard
We are only trying to help
Can we have a better look please
It looks like a connector
I want to see if it is
You mean the empty port?
You're having issues with your computer, we need to cover the basics before we go more in-depth
that's what Accent is trying to do
A connector or some weird ass cut out
Ok, atleast we know now.
The problem is not the gpu
I never said it was.
It’s that the computer is now restarting watch
I know the issue at hand I was only trying to cover the basics.
From the video I couldn't see the connector correctly, and I wanted a better understanding.
Now we know its okay, move the RAM to the other slot and see if behaviour changes.
Now it’s beeping again
:tada: Congrats @iron sundial, you levelled up to 8! :tada:
The first video
It’s the first videos beeps again
So the ram slot is fucked?
On one Atleast
No
I am not too sure yet
Its very difficult to say
I couldn't hear anything from the video, don't know why
Well why would 1 ram slot restart my pc and the other one just do a loud ass beep
The reasons are endless,
I don’t like endless
I can't hear to beeps, what are they?
mm let me see
Monitor ain’t on
and whats the motherboard?
Idk
Brand?
It’s an msi
kewl let me see
will prob say VGA or similar
DRAM AND CPU are on
Do you have another stick of RAM?
Vga and boot are off
Swap it out
I want them for my new pc
Try.
If they work, then you know its a dodgy stick
*dodgy ram can cause this behaviour
What’s front what’s back I can’t remember
Okie no beep
Works?
any image?
yeah if there is a GPU fitted, it will automatically want to use that
SYs no cable is connected
Restart the PC with the GPU connected
The what?
Any lights on the PC?
Still getting no display
Those ezdebug stuff
Where was the CMOS battery? was it underneath the GPU? If so make sure the GPU is correctly seated aswell
if you had to remove it
Ah alright, some mobos have it underneath it
Guess this pc is dead
Unless someone can fix it but meh
Seems to power up okie and run it all
Remove the GPU
Just no power
you say you have an IGPU?
okie dokie we can do this
Do I have to remove the gpu
Yea
Oops
Okie it’s working now
PC works?
Same screen I got with the old ram and gpu in

Okie
Just want to see if it works
If it doesn't its a bit of a pain
60£ for that ram
Its more or less £30 now
Oh huh
It worked fine until I changed the ram the first time
I should have just not changed it
I'm not too sure, I am very sorry.
Take the GPU out
It’s not rebooting constantly now
Now I get a black screen
Nvm it works
So the gpu is fucked
Maybe? Not sure tbf
Well it’s working. Or
Now
Semi
I’m stuck on this
No matter what I press
WAIT IM AN IDIOT
I KNOW WHY IT KEEPS RESETTING
Yeah?
it tries to boot of the hdd
But the hdd don’t boot no more
The ssd foes
But I need to access the boot menu
Which currently I can’t even do
If I can’t do that I’m gonna be honest I’m putting my foot through this shit thing
I doubt thats the issue but you can disconnect the HDD
No
So basically
Cause it tried booting of hdd
It resets constantly
Until I select the other boot drive
But I can’t even get on boot menu
Do it makes no difference
It’s fucked clearly
I am not completely sure, sorry.
It’s fine you tried
Idk what happened between me changing the ram
But clearly it broke it so it’s my own fault
Just goes to show don’t change ram
Just gotta be incredibly careful with these things
RAM is one of those things that are normally the easiest to do once you know how
but faulty modules/sticks can throw spanners in the mix, gotta make sure its the correct DDR version too, DDR5 won't fit into DDR4 for example as the notches are in different places
