Just plugged in my new pc, core temps in bios is about 40C, but when I boot up the temps are upwards of 82-85C. Any reason for this?

lilac root
#

You able to download HWInfo?

gilded flameBOT
#
HWiNFO

Download either the Installer or Portable version
For temperatures, run in Sensor Only mode.

lilac root
#

Run in sensors only mode and scroll down until you see CPU temps

astral wadi
#

Don't have discord installed on the pc rn I'll quickly do it

lilac root
#

Oki πŸ™‚

viscid shale
#

And what CPU?

astral wadi
#

7800x3d

viscid shale
#

I want to say its normal but it may not be, do what Lewis suggested

#

Ryzen 7000 likes to get hot when doing anything

lilac root
#

Surely it shouldn't be getting 80 idle

astral wadi
lilac root
#

Damn

viscid shale
#

Nah that isn't normal

#

What cooler?

silk hare
#

thats normal for like a 14900k under load jeez

astral wadi
#

i think its just the 360mm cyberpower aio

viscid shale
#

Is the light showing?

astral wadi
#

yep

viscid shale
#

Do you have thermal paste on hand?

#

Scratch that, touch the tubes and feel if they are vibrating

astral wadi
#

yep

gilded flameBOT
#

cprgbglitch :tada: Congrats @astral wadi, you levelled up to 1! :tada: cprgbglitch

astral wadi
#

theres a good amount of thermal paste and the tubes are vibrating

#

idk what it could be

#

still going up

viscid shale
#

Are the fans spinning on the radiator?

astral wadi
#

yeah

viscid shale
#

Nah I think that indicates a bad mount

#

because some of the CPU is cold

astral wadi
#

ah alright so i have to remount it?

viscid shale
#

I just wanna see it under a stress test to be fair, fire up some OCCT

gilded flameBOT
#
OCCT
lilac root
#

Yeah either AIO is not mounted/touching the CPU properly or AIO is faulty ?

viscid shale
#

The pipes are vibrating leading me to think its just bad contact/mount

astral wadi
#

ive never had an aio before so im not sure what its supposed to look like

#

but it came like it is

viscid shale
#

Maybe try tighten up the screws?

lilac root
#

Thats the AIO

#

Ohhh wait

#

sorry

astral wadi
#

no i mean on the cpu

#

ye

lilac root
#

You mean the contact

#

mb

viscid shale
#

Do the OCCT first, sorry for saying do this do this im getting ahead of myself kek

astral wadi
#

its at 90 now

viscid shale
#

Nah its not normal turn it off

#

the 7800x3d likes to stay below that temperature

astral wadi
#

alright I'm back on my phone

#

Wait I think I heard a popping sort of sound when the pc turned off

viscid shale
#

Thats probably normal if you have a corsair PSU

astral wadi
#

Yeah

#

alright

viscid shale
#

Its a ticking noise

astral wadi
#

I see

viscid shale
#

Right, go into the inside of the PC and take a picture

astral wadi
viscid shale
#

Ah thats annoying you can't use a standard screw driver

astral wadi
#

I feel like it's not mounted properly onto the cpu

#

Looks too high

viscid shale
#

I agree

astral wadi
#

idk if this helps at all

viscid shale
#

You would be suprised that those chips are quite tall

astral wadi
#

Should it be plugged into "CPU fan" or "pump fan"

viscid shale
#

Try pump fan

astral wadi
#

That's what it's in

#

It did it on both

#

idk what to do really

viscid shale
#

I don't know either, its just very odd

#

I don't know how to deal with that kind of mounting hardware though, if someone here knows please help.

#

Alright, I think you have to finger tighten it

#

Sounds silly but I think thats what you have to do

astral wadi
#

I'll try

gilded flameBOT
#

cprgbglitch :tada: Congrats @astral wadi, you levelled up to 2! :tada: cprgbglitch

astral wadi
#

Alright I've tightened it as much as I can

#

I'll check it now

#

Is that why my fans are going crazy aswell, tryna help keep the cpu temp down?

viscid shale
#

Yea

viscid shale
astral wadi
#

a decent bit

lilac root
#

πŸ™

viscid shale
#

Yikes

astral wadi
#

Temps are below 80 but still at 79

lilac root
#

damn

viscid shale
#

Ok I think you are going for a remount

#

Turn it off and untighten the screws

astral wadi
#

oh man this is gonna be fun

viscid shale
#

Put the computer on the side facing the ceiling when doing this though

astral wadi
#

Alright

#

One sec

viscid shale
#

Make sure you have the thermalpaste though

#

Wipe off the old and apply a good but onto the CPU (Not alot though) and try to mount

#

I'll send over a video of the same AIO

astral wadi
#

I don't have extra paste, none came with it

viscid shale
#

Oh

astral wadi
#

I thought it would

#

I got a bag full of stuff that came with the pc

#

Idk what any of it is

viscid shale
#

Sucks to say but something weird is going on

astral wadi
#

yeah idk what it is

viscid shale
#

I think you need to contact CPUK

astral wadi
#

okay

viscid shale
#

Im sorry to not be of any help but without paste we can't eliminate user error

astral wadi
#

no problem

#

just mildly infuriating that my first high end pc doesn't work like I would've expected

viscid shale
#

Yeah, I am certain CPUK will solve these issues very fast, but it isn't something that should of happened.

astral wadi
#

any idea of what will happen?

viscid shale
#

You will be sent an RMA forum you fill out, DPD comes next day collects the PC, PC is in for repairs for a few days and comes back to you hopefully fully functional

silk hare
#

just make sure you still got the original packaging

#

or you'll have to pay CPUK for some

astral wadi
#

Yeah I do

#

Do I get any form of compensation or anything cuz I waited 3 weeks for this πŸ˜‚

viscid shale
#

You can always ask, doubtful though 😦

silk hare
#

It should've been fine when it left CPUK if it got past stress testing and everything

#

so god knows

astral wadi
#

I'm just confused at why it's 40c in bios and 85 idle afterwards

viscid shale
#

Leave it in the bios and see if temp climbs

astral wadi
#

I pressed the power button and it didn't turn on the first time

#

pressed it again and it worked

viscid shale
#

Might be normal considering sometimes it is flakey

astral wadi
#

CPU core temps 73 in bios

#

75

#

76..

gilded flameBOT
#

cprgbglitch :tada: Congrats @astral wadi, you levelled up to 3! :tada: cprgbglitch

astral wadi
#

no signs of going down

viscid shale
#

Yep thats all I need to know

astral wadi
#

It's just climbing

#

I turned it off again

viscid shale
#

Turn it off and send it back to CPUK

#

πŸ‘

astral wadi
#

yeah okay

#

not sure why that's happening

viscid shale
#

Neither 😦

#

I can't really help anymore as it is clear there is some issue and you don't have the paste to fix it so I'll leave it here, sorry for no help.

astral wadi
#

Np, atleast you tried

#

I'll just have to see what happens

viscid shale
#

They will take very good care of you.

astral wadi
#

@viscid shale sorry weird question, but is OCCT a stress tester?

silk hare
astral wadi
#

Ah okay

silk hare
#

However there is more demanding stress tests for each component

#

Furmark for GPUs

#

Cinebench for CPUs

astral wadi
#

I was told to do the test and my CPU is at 79 right now, with an 85 max

#

so is that not too bad or

silk hare
#

That's CPU temps?

#

Under load?

astral wadi
#

While running the OCCT test

silk hare
#

Yeah that's pretty good

astral wadi
#

oh okay

silk hare
#

well

#

whats the cpu again

astral wadi
#

7800x3d

silk hare
#

@viscid shale

#

85c on stress testing

#

for a 7800x3d, not bad?

astral wadi
#

It's going between like 77-82 most of the time

silk hare
#

did you contact CPUK?

astral wadi
#

yeah I was told to run OCCT for an hour

#

that's why I asked here too to ensure my pc wouldn't explode πŸ˜‚

silk hare
#

I mean if its only hitting 85c, and not going any higher

#

imo that's alright

#

if its at that all the time though, its a bit weird

astral wadi
#

It's peaked at 86 now, but is balancing around at 77-82

#

and I assume stress test is nowhere near how hard the cpu will have to work majority of the time

silk hare
#

CPU tests basically push it to its limit

astral wadi
#

Hmmm now it's leaking at 87 and sitting around 81-82

silk hare
#

for example under heavy load, mine will peak at about 6ghz and 100c on those cores

astral wadi
#

Wait I think I can see a problem

silk hare
#

Yeah some of the OCCT tests it'll run will push several cores to their max.

#

so it can push temps up

silk hare
astral wadi
#

I'm pretty sure CPUK didn't take the plastic off the radiator before installing it

#

I just heard a plasticy noise

silk hare
#

the plastic off the radiator???

astral wadi
#

Or whatever it is idk

silk hare
#

could you send a pic of what you mean

astral wadi
#

This looks like a bit of plastic film

#

It's on the fans of the aio or whatever that part is

#

I mean I'm not sure, but could it be interfering with the airflow

silk hare
#

Isn't that the glass

#

or am I blind

astral wadi
#

Ahh yeah my bad I didn't realise that part came off

#

But I took it off and my temps are down to 75

#

I had no idea there was even plastic there until I looked closely

#

I mean I'm still not sure though, my fans were ramping up the speed before I even opened occt

astral wadi
#

But now even after OCCT is done my CPU isn't cooling down at all

#

It's staying at about 79

#

@silk hare

gilded flameBOT
#

cprgbglitch :tada: Congrats @astral wadi, you levelled up to 4! :tada: cprgbglitch

viscid shale
viscid shale
astral wadi
#

no?

#

hmm

viscid shale
#

47W should not be that hot

#

My 13600K is 67c doing 170W

astral wadi
#

I'm so confused at why it's like this

viscid shale
#

I think you need to return it

#

And get it repaired

astral wadi
#

πŸ™ƒ trust me to get a faulty pc on my first time using this provider

viscid shale
#

I dunno if it's faulty it's just weird wacky behaviour

#

The temps are not normal and the cooling system is definitely not sufficient

astral wadi
#

I mean in the bios it's perfectly fine

#

As soon as it boots into windows it almost doubles temps

#

idk if that means anything

#

40-42c in bios

viscid shale
#

Didn't you say it got really hot in bios?

viscid shale
astral wadi
#

nahh I realised the cooler wasn't screwed back on properly that was just on me

viscid shale
#

Oh

astral wadi
#

but I put it back on and it's fine under OCCT but after the test is done it just started dying again

viscid shale
#

What's the CPU wattage?

astral wadi
#

like under stress it was running cooler than it is now

#

Right now it's 50w 78C

#

which isn't right

viscid shale
#

Hmm

#

I don't know.

#

Go into the bios and see if temps climb

astral wadi
#

Okay two seconds

#

they're dropping πŸ˜‚

#

Went from 45 down to 38

silk hare
#

I'm starting to think does he have a funky hot spot like mine

astral wadi
viscid shale
#

Nah you would see that in the core deltas

silk hare
#

tru

astral wadi
#

hold on

#

All my fans are spinning but bios says 2 of them are at 0RPM

#

unless I'm just misreading

viscid shale
#

Could just be unplugged

astral wadi
#

tbh idk what I'm talking about so I'll not say anything to be confusing

#

But yeah my CPU is fine, 38/39 in bios

#

But as soon as I close bios my fans turn like jet engines and my temps skyrocket

viscid shale
#

Oh wait

#

I have an idea

#

In the bios

#

Go to advanced mode (f7) hardware monitor

#

Then go to pump fan

#

What is it on

#

PWM or DC

astral wadi
#

PWM

viscid shale
#

Change it to DC

#

And set it to 100%

astral wadi
#

And should I plug the cable back into pump fan

viscid shale
#

Wait wha

astral wadi
#

The occt was with pump fan plugged in

#

but it was on pwm

viscid shale
#

The pump fan should be in?

astral wadi
#

I switched it to what it was when I got the pc

#

It was plugged into CPU fan

#

but the OCCT was with pump fan in

viscid shale
#

Ah

#

Keep it in the pump fan

astral wadi
#

How do I change the percentage

viscid shale
#

Turn off smart fan mode

#

And bring the dot all the way up

astral wadi
#

Okay

#

I'll plug it back into pump fan and restart hold on

viscid shale
#

Okay

astral wadi
#

alright I'm turning it on now

#

fans are still jet engines and my temps are still 78-80C

#

I don't understand why it's perfectly fine in bios but just dies when windows is booted

viscid shale
#

Erghh

#

Hmmm one sec

astral wadi
#

okay

viscid shale
#

It looks fishy but it's legit - I'm just trying to go off a limb and eliminate OS sensor errors

#

This is the only tool I've found that stress tests the CPU without OS

astral wadi
#

What do I download

#

CPU stress?

silk hare
#

what in the 2001 website is this

astral wadi
#

Yeah that's what I was thinking πŸ˜‚

viscid shale

That looks very fishy

silk hare
#

SIR THIS LOOKS BETTER THAN THE WEBSITE YOU SENT

#

πŸ’€

viscid shale
#

I'm trying to find kek

#

A way we can do this

#

Ok how about memtest FFS

#

That stresses the CPU a bit aswell

#

@astral wadi I am very sorry about this uh

#

Its very old kek

silk hare
#

sir this isn't even got Windows XP

#

this is everything PRIOR TO WINDOWS XP

viscid shale
#

BACK IN IT'S GLORY DAY

silk hare
#

SIR WE'RE ON WINDOWS 11, NOT WINDOWS 98

viscid shale
#

According to Reddit

#

πŸ’€

#

Okay I am not helping here

#

Bingo @astral wadi let's do memtest

gilded flameBOT
#
MemTest86 Memory Testing

:one: Download MemTest86 using the link below.
:two: Open the zip file you downloaded and run ImageUSB
:three: Click 'Extract', choose a File Location then click 'Extract' again.
:four: Run ImageUSB from the File Explorer windows which just opened and select your USB stick from the list.
:five: Click the Write button, ensuring that any files on your USB stick that you would like to keep are backed up.
:six: Shut down the PC you are going to be testing, insert the USB stick and press the following key while your PC is turning on, depending on your motherboard:
rog ASUS/ROG: F8
aorus Aorus/Gigabyte: F12
msi asrock cp MSI/ASRock/Cyberpower: F11
Then select your USB Drive from the list and press Enter.
:seven: Wait for the 10 second timer to finish and the test will begin.
:exclamation: If MemTest86 picks up an error, or the test has finished (It will stop automatically), let us know.

After making a MemTest86 USB, you will notice that your USB will have much less capacity. To fix this, reopen the ImageUSB tool, select Reformat USB drive under Step 2, then click Write again.

viscid shale
#

Sorry for the uh previous messages kek

#

Memtest stresses the CPU to a certain degree and has temp monitoring built in

#

So I think this will be good enough

silk hare
#

Accent was trying to get you to download a computer equivalent of the bubonic plague, but it's all good

#

do a memtest

astral wadi
#

whats this about a usb stick

viscid shale
#

So it eliminates windows entirely

astral wadi
#

i dont have any usb stick

gilded flameBOT
#

cprgbglitch :tada: Congrats @astral wadi, you levelled up to 5! :tada: cprgbglitch

astral wadi
#

actually i might have one

#

@viscid shale i have an empty 32gb usb

viscid shale
#

Get memtest on there

astral wadi
#

download memtest to the usb? or write image to usb

viscid shale
#

Open up the program and it does it for you

astral wadi
#

ah

#

ok started it

#

gonna do the restart

viscid shale
#

Is it finished?

astral wadi
#

it's doing it now

viscid shale
#

Ah ok brill

astral wadi
#

Temps at 68 rn while testing

viscid shale
#

Oh wait you are in the memtest?

astral wadi
#

Yeah

viscid shale
#

Seems ok

astral wadi
#

my fans are a lot quieter too

viscid shale
#

I'm just going to say I'm downright confused

astral wadi
#

something is happening with the OS then?

#

my CPU is 44C rn

viscid shale
#

Maybe?? I don't know at this point

#

We can try a reinstall

astral wadi
#

I'm really confused πŸ˜‚

#

alright

#

How long does the test take to finish

Windows 11 Installation

If you are upgrading from Windows 10, you may need to enable TPM and Secure Boot in order to proceed with the Windows 11 installation - please follow the TPM & Secure Boot guide below first.

:warning: When reinstalling Windows, you will lose any files which are not backed up to the cloud or an external drive - please ensure any files you would like to keep are backed up before continuing.

:one: Click the button below and download the 'Create Windows 11 Installation Media' tool.
:two: Follow through the installation tool, and choose 'USB flash drive' when prompted. Your USB flash drive must be 8GB or greater.
:three: Once the tool has finished, shut down the PC you're installing Windows on and insert the USB drive.
:four: Next, repeatedly press the following key while your PC is turning on, depending on your motherboard:
rog ASUS/ROG: F8
aorus Aorus/Gigabyte: F12
msi asrock cp MSI/ASRock/Cyberpower: F11
Then choose your USB drive from the list to boot from it.
:five: Follow through the installation tool. When it asks for your product key, click Skip - your PC will automatically reactivate. Make sure to select the same Windows version as you ordered with your PC, then choose a Custom installation.
:six: Select the drive in which you would like to install Windows on (you will want to install Windows on your SSD, this is typically a smaller drive), delete any partitions which already exist and then select Drive # Unallocated Space, and click Next.
:seven: Once your PC restarts, you will be taken to the first-time setup screen, where you can setup your user account and preferences.

its just annoying tho cuz my temps were lower under load than they are now

viscid shale

I'm clueless.... Truly am ahah

Hope this does it...

astral wadi
#

my last pc used to just power cycle itself randomly, idk why that happened

astral wadi

everything just doesnt want to work for me

viscid shale

astral wadi

oh my god

silk hare
astral wadi
#

yeah its still the same

silk hare
#

is the PC hot to the touch

astral wadi
#

no

#

it feels quite cool

viscid shale
#

That's not a good sign tbf

#

OH WAIT A MINUTE

astral wadi
#

yea?

viscid shale
#

I KNOW WHATS WRONG

astral wadi
#

oh?

viscid shale
#

The damn paste coverage

lilac root
#

?

viscid shale
#

Some of the CPU is stone cold

#

And some is hot

#

That's why some part of the CPU is like 40C

astral wadi
#

do you want me to take a picture of the paste

viscid shale
#

The delta shouldn't be that much

#

Tbh take the cooler off and take a picture

astral wadi
#

okay

silk hare
#

tbh I was kinda sus when a part of it is 38c

viscid shale
#

Or maybe bad mount

#

These chips are sensitive

astral wadi

Oh wow yeah I think the paste is awful

astral wadi
silk hare

egh not too bad

lilac root
#

looks fine to me

astral wadi
#

Closer up

viscid shale
#

Put it back on

#

And make sure it's on right

astral wadi
#

How do I ensure its on right

viscid shale
#

It's a clip on design

#

I think

#

Then two screws

astral wadi
viscid shale
astral wadi
#

tbh one side feels like it's pushed down more than the other

#

it doesn't seem to sit evenly

viscid shale
#

I think the culprit was bad paste coverage or bad mount

#

This case is bad mount

astral wadi
#

I can't tell if it's mounted correctly or not

viscid shale
#

Follow the video and see if you can do that

viscid shale
#

The video explains it perfectly

#

You just tilt it so one side gets clipped in, then get the other side slowly

astral wadi
#

While tightening one side it just refuses to tighten and just clicks

#

It's like endless tightening and it doesn't do anything

viscid shale
#

And that side is clipped in?

astral wadi
#

Yeah

#

The one on the left won't go down

#

You can see the difference

viscid shale
#

You sure?

astral wadi
#

Yeah I tighten it and then it just goes loose again when I twist it more

#

It's definitely on

viscid shale
#

Did you apply even pressure? So screw one side then the other then the other

#

If you didn't then untighten the other side and do it evenly

astral wadi
#

Ah I got it

#

You were right

lilac root
#

Boom overheating fixed

silk hare
#

turn that PC on and lets see the temps now

lilac root
#

PC Explodes

astral wadi
#

Hold on im tightening as much as possible πŸ˜‚

silk hare
#

make sure not to over tighten

viscid shale
#

Might not be the best idea

#

Just go till they stop

silk hare
#

don't put excessive amount of tightening on it

#

you could damage something

lilac root
#

CPU snaps in half from overtighten

viscid shale
#

Especially on AM5 because of those delicate pins

#

I have heard reports of mounting pressure causing weird BSODs and stuff it's crazy

astral wadi
#

okay cheers

astral wadi
#

Was at 55 for a good 10 sec

#

Now it's back to 80

silk hare
viscid shale
#

Go to hwinfo and open all of the core temps

#

Then take a ss

astral wadi
lilac root
#

Looks quite good no?

viscid shale
#

And what temp are we sitting at now?

astral wadi
#

79.5

silk hare
viscid shale
#

I've seen enough tbh

astral wadi
#

i dont get what the issue cna be

viscid shale
#

Something isn't right and you need to get it repaired

viscid shale
#

Its cold and hot

#

Maybe a part of the cooler is just ineffective?

silk hare
#

like most of the core temps look fine

viscid shale
#

Get the RMA forum tomorrow and send it back because it's clearly not right

silk hare
#

I mean you'll always have some cores that boost higher than others, so get hotter

viscid shale
#

Not that much delta

silk hare
#

but sitting at that temp not under any load is weird

#

mine for example

#

you can see soem P cores running higher

viscid shale
#

Ryzen cores act different

#

His 20c 50c is normal

silk hare
#

wacky

astral wadi
#

thanks for trying to help tho guys

#

hopefully i get some upgrades for the time its taking to sort this out lol

#

doubt it but i can always hope

lilac root
#

You'll just get a replacement of the same unit

#

if the AIO or CPU whatever is faulty

silk hare
#

If you ask nicely they might give you some stickers on the house

viscid shale
#

You can always pay the difference of a better AIO

lilac root
#

^

astral wadi
#

yeah i might

#

how much is a decent one

viscid shale
#

ALTHOUGH this AIO is not normal and this is just defective probably

silk hare
#

off the top of my head, think a corsair one is like Β£120-150

viscid shale
astral wadi
#

yikes expensive

lilac root
#

Well you've paid most of it already lol

viscid shale
#

Mmm I think you are good with the cyberpower one as it should do the trick

lilac root
#

How much was ur current AIO?

astral wadi
#

yeah but im low on cash rn cuz christmas and things

#

idk i cant remember

silk hare
#

christmas kills everyone's bank account dw

viscid shale
#

Probably around Β£80 if I had to guess

viscid shale
lilac root
#

Ah not too bad

viscid shale
#

Give shit to people you see once a year say bye and regret life choices

#

Right so the AIO you have right now is fine but defective

astral wadi
#

idek what the aio is

viscid shale
#

The thing you just remounted

astral wadi
#

no i mean idk which one it is

viscid shale
#

Ah

#

Cyberpower masterliquid lite 360mm one

astral wadi
#

ah

viscid shale
#

Its just a coolermaster rebrand

silk hare
#

or the coolermaster with a cyber power sticker on it

astral wadi
#

one of my cores just jumped to 80c lol

viscid shale
#

I'm proper confused

#

Everything I try logically think

#

Isn't logically working

astral wadi
#

you know its bad when even people like you have no idea

#

and you know a lot

viscid shale
#

It's just the fact it's such a simple thing but it's not

silk hare
#

accent is like wikipedia

#

but like, a wish version

astral wadi
#

πŸ˜‚

viscid shale
#

Does this mean I have good rizz

#

I can finally go outside and talk to some women

#

Guys you think they like PC vocabulary πŸ₯Ί

silk hare
#

ah yes, go outside and rizz up a woman "ah yes baby, you look like a 240mm corsair radiator"

#

"let me slide into those 4070 artifacts"

astral wadi
#

Worked for me

viscid shale
#

Why do we do this in every support thread kek I'm sorry Kian

astral wadi
#

No worries πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

#

it's funny tho making the frustration more bearable

viscid shale
astral wadi
#

Jesus

#

πŸ˜‚

viscid shale
#

Not like that FFS kek kek

#

Uh yeah I think we are going in circles

vernal lodge
#

Da fuq

viscid shale
#

Windows reinstall is the last step I would logically take

astral wadi
#

i cant be bothered to do all that tbh

#

ill just wait for a repair lol

#

it didnt work once so i cant be bothered to try again

viscid shale
#

Yeah no worries no customer is required to do any troubleshooting

#

If you buy from a PC company and it broke, give them intel and take it away

astral wadi
#

as long as i get a functional one back i dont mind πŸ˜‚

viscid shale
#

Mate if you don't I would be so surprised

astral wadi
#

spent a considerable amount on this

#

im just confused at how something like this slips under the radar but idk how their stuff works

viscid shale
#

It will get sorted out very well, they will time on it don't worry

viscid shale
#

They plug in a windows SSD to test the system

#

That's how your current drive hasn't been used before

#

So if it is an OS sensor issue perhaps that's what we are dealing with

#

Considering memtest showed OK temperatures

#

And the fact OCCT doesn't burn your PC down

astral wadi
#

yeah idk how occt runs cooler than idle temps

#

doesnt make sense

astral wadi
#

@viscid shale just got my pc back after returning it, still running at 75C on startup

#

Idk what tests they do but clearly they don't bother checking

#

idk what steps to take now but if possible I'm just going to try and get a full refund and shop elsewhere

#

A month after placing my order and I still don't have what I paid for

silk hare
#

Whats your temps looking like in HWINFO?

astral wadi
#

75-80

#

still

#

even after they "replaced" the cooler

#

I don't get what tests they're doing because they should've noticed this

#

Twice in a row there's been problems

silk hare
#

Does the system actively feel hot?

astral wadi
#

Not from the outside but my fans are running so fast and loud

#

under no load I don't think that's necessary

silk hare
#

Lets see what @viscid shale says, I want to potentially blame it on some faulty sensor because the likelihood of two coolers in a row being faulty is a bit extreme

astral wadi
#

so what should I do about it

#

Send it back again or just live with it

silk hare
#

I wouldn't expect you to live with it, it's clearly not functioning as it should

#

if you pay for a system, you kinda expect it to work as intended

#

and a system running at 75c on idle, that ain't intended

astral wadi
#

idk what it is, but I'm tired of having constant problems

#

I paid for this a month ago it shouldn't take this long to get it sorted

silk hare
#

tbh I'd be the same as you, especially if after receiving it back, it's still having the same issues

viscid shale
#

Well, this is difficult then

#

Hmmmm

silk hare
#

It will sound stupid, but is the cooler running?

#

Is it a AIO or a tower cooler?

viscid shale
#

The AIO is working

#

No I am not putting it up to cooler

#

The BIOS is running perfectly fine

silk hare
#

are all cores running at high temps?

#

or do you still have some at low?

astral wadi
#

all of them are quite low, one is about 60C

#

And then apparently my temps are 80

#

So I don't understand πŸ˜‚

silk hare
#

You see, even 60c is still way too hot for no load

astral wadi
#

Most are 25-40

silk hare
#

I'm just completely baffled

viscid shale
#

fucking farshot but lets go for it

#

update the bios?

silk hare
viscid shale
#

I identified that last time#

#

the CPU is cold

#

its just... one reading is 80 C??

silk hare
#

faulty sensor?

viscid shale
#

Maybe a bad CPU?

#

I know something you can do @astral wadi

#

In HWInfo look for the motherboard readouts

#

it will report CPU temps it detects

astral wadi
#

I can't lie

gilded flameBOT
#

cprgbglitch :tada: Congrats @astral wadi, you levelled up to 7! :tada: cprgbglitch

astral wadi
#

I factory reset my pc before discussing with you guys

#

and my fans aren't running at Mach 10 after reinstalling the OS

#

it just finished now

viscid shale
#

how the hell

#

That is the weirdest... weirdest issue ever.

astral wadi
#

I mean I'm not certain yet it could randomly start

viscid shale
#

Keep us updated

astral wadi
#

Maybe there was a bad install on one of the pre-installed applications

silk hare
#

Wait... so it's fixed... after reinstalling the OS?

astral wadi
#

well not for certain

#

I'm currently doing all the installations for drivers that my motherboard asks for and then I'll download hwinfo

#

10 minute cpu uptime and my fans haven't taken off yet so it might be solved

#

I'll keep you updated when I can

viscid shale
#

Thanks, I should of tried suggesting that when I could but that is one weird issue.

astral wadi
#

nah I didn't expect it to be a problem

#

Idk what could've caused it if it does end up being fixed

#

I think I know what it might be actually my fans are starting to speed up a bit

#

my CPU spiked to 5ghz and my fans were going mental and then when it went back to 4.2ghz it slowed right down

#

but I still don't think that should be the case

viscid shale
#

Yeah no, it seems better now though?

astral wadi
#

not for sure, still installing a load of drivers

viscid shale
#

okie dokie, lets hope!

astral wadi
#

how do I download hwinfo again

gilded flameBOT
#
HWiNFO

Download either the Installer or Portable version
For temperatures, run in Sensor Only mode.

astral wadi
#

Yeah I think it's sorted

#

potentially?

#

installing drivers and everything and average temp is 44.2

#

Max of 55.6

lilac root
#

πŸ™

astral wadi
#

right now I'm running 34.4

viscid shale
#

oml

#

how the hell

astral wadi
#

I have no idea I'm so confused

viscid shale
#

Well enjoy your PC...??? kek

astral wadi
#

I think this is okay? πŸ˜‚

viscid shale
#

That is more than ok

#

thats pretty good

astral wadi
#

I'm not convinced

#

I'm not sitting at about 49-54

viscid shale
#

You are?

astral wadi
#

I'm not too sure

#

I think it's my clock speeds

viscid shale
#

What are you concerned about?

astral wadi
#

or maybe not

viscid shale
#

I think you are okay

astral wadi
#

idk, I just spiked at 70c

viscid shale
#

Thats normal

astral wadi
#

okay

viscid shale
#

Ryzen 7000 likes spiking alot

#

It calms down when everything is done

astral wadi
#

Sorry I'm so stressed with all this

viscid shale
#

Nah I would be too!

#

In gaming you should be around 50c - 70c could be higher?

astral wadi
#

I trust your judgement you're very intelligible with these things

#

I'll have to install a game and see

silk hare
#

you'll inflate Accent's ego, be careful

astral wadi
#

I've got just hwinfo open now and I'm sitting at 33 πŸ˜‚

viscid shale
#

I'll pipe down kek

astral wadi
#

I'm so confused but I'm glad

#

If anything happens I'll let you all know

viscid shale
astral wadi
#

Thanks

astral wadi
#

this is so nice

#

temps sitting at about 65-70 in game and i was getting over 1300 fps compared to my old 100 :D

viscid shale
#

oml that must be goood

#

what game?

astral wadi
#

valorant, but only in the practice range not in a proper match

viscid shale
#

CPU temps seem fine

astral wadi
#

but still, an increase of over 10x my frames

viscid shale
#

sounds goood

silk hare
#

you must've prayed to the PC gods

#

May your temps be low, and your RGB forever bright

astral wadi
#

Yeah had no problems last night, idk why reinstalling windows worked but thanks to everyone for helping despite not knowing what was up πŸ˜‚
