Family member got one of your computers via Amazon and it arrived missing the CPU (an i9 14900k) and the air cooler hanging loose in the case.
There are several reviews on Amazon for that product with people complaining about the same thing.
Either you are running a fucking shambolic enterprise or someone is stealing components.
Thank you, however, for ruining this kids birthday.
As clichéd as it is, he's now sitting there crying because he can't use this useless black box he saved for and spent 2.6k on.
He can't get his money back for a week and will never trust your company again.
I'm a pc gamer myself and I'm pretty unimpressed myself.

Firstly sorry for your bad experience, amazon have been operating badly by selling returned systems without checking them before reselling them cyberpower are aware and are in discussion to get it sorted. Get in touch with amazon support and they'll be able to help with a refund since the system is sold by amazon, once you return the system you'll be able to get a refund
@pulsar sphinx @tough walrus it happened again
Oh dear god,
The problem is, Amazon does not check any systems that people return to them,
It's happened with other server members which have managed to get a refund from amazon honestly don't understand why amazon aren't checking systems before reselling them again
The systems are all quality checked before they go to Amazon, but when someone returns a system, they do not check it before listing it for sale again.
@trail comet if you could take a picture of the serial number on the back of the pc and email it to cyberpower support just so they have it on record and can help regarding amazon reselling broken systems
:telephone: 03333-237776
:e_mail: sales@cyberpowersystem.co.uk
:clock3: Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm
Please ensure to include as much information about your query as possible, and ensure to include your order number if you require after-sales support.
It's despicable honestly
I know cyberpower are getting it sorted currently though
I didn't think CP would have assembled it and mysteriously forgot to put the CPU in.
Which made me think maybe someone down the delivery chain was stealing components.
His mother has been on the phone to Amazon and got a refund, but the poor kid now has to be told he's got wait till next week to reorder.
He's proper gutted.
It's happened a bunch of times before this, we believe someone has ordered the PC, taken the CPU out, and returned it to Amazon who don't know how to QC a PC properly and resell it...
Which sucks because the refund time for Amazon could take up to 14 days 😦
Sounds about right.
It just reflects poorly on CP to the uninformed because it's their name on the box.
Please do accept our apologies, amazon are being a pain in the ass atm but hopefully it'll be sorted asap
If he does want to reorder it might be best to do it through the website; If he needs any assistance with that just let us know and one of us can advise
Cheers, mate
It seems be one of two thing, Someone in the Amazon warehouse stealing the CPUs or people ordering PCs taking the parts and returning to Amazon and then Amazon reselling it
:tada: Congrats @calm rampart, you levelled up to 63! :tada:
Yeah, someone is taking the piss somewhere.
These are £4-500 CPU, after all.
Oh well, nothing can be done now.
Just trying to console the kid.
I guess there's a learning experience there somewhere.
Anyway, thanks for the feedback, guys.
:tada: Congrats @trail comet, you levelled up to 1! :tada:
Shows that Amazon does not care 😢
I won't be buying electronics from them again definitely
Anyways because this has happened countless times getting a refund will be very easy
My friend had the same problem with his prebuilt. Don’t buy from Amazon buy from the actual company directly.
@vagrant maple thought I'd let you know that another review has gone up on that pc with exactly the same issue.
Guy called Ashley, it arrived, as my friends kid did, and the other reviews did, with the liquid cooler attachment and the exposed heat sink hanging loose and not connected... meaning another stolen CPU.
This seems like a serious issue that is happening over and over again to multiple people.
I double checked with my friend, and on Amazon it is called the Cyberpower Luxe Gaming Pc (£2,671.20).
Go see for yourself.
CP really do need to get on this as whatever is going on it's their name on the box and, ultimately, it's their reputation that will suffer as people will assume (as I did) that this an issue at your end because Amazon are just the middleman.
For one person to have this issue is unfortunate, two is a strange coincidence, but three, and then four, within the space of 4 weeks is simply not normal and statistically impossible unless there's serious issues with quality control.
I don't want to see CP blamed if they aren't responsible and if one more person is saved this ridiculous nonsense then it's worth me mentioning it.
Trust me, it's an ongoing issue, The computers are quality checked when they leave CPUK to be sold on Amazon, Amazon holds it and sells/ships it once ordered, It'll get sent out, the person will rip the CPU out, and then request a refund, somewhere along the lines of "Unwanted" or "Accidental Purchase" this won't trigger a check by Amazon, it'll be returned, amazon will weigh it, CPUs are so light that there won't be any significant weight decrease, and they put it straight back on stock to be sold again, the cycle repeats, Someone complains to Amazon about it, it gets sent back, they weigh it, same weight, and so it continues.
The problem is, Amazon does not check the items when they come back, they weigh it and use that.
The only way Cyberpower can do anything about it, is people start reporting the Serial Numbers to them so that they can start tracking who's getting these PCs, as Amazon just does not care.
And ultimately, It is CPUK's reputation that gets hurt in the long run, but it's someone out there that's buying multiple of these computers, from CPUK and most likely other prebuilts on the site, and returning them all under different accounts
It's borderline impossible to stop until Amazon starts quality checking items (as they should)
Yes, that's my feeling.
People will blame CP and say it's their fault and they are shipping faulty units.
I don't know what the answer is, but I guarantee you if anyone sees those reviews they will not buy that item, and may well decide not spend any money with CP full stop.
It's one of these things that Amazon just does not give a hoot about the sellers or customers, they just want to sell items,
4 people in the last few weeks with the same item is just ridiculous.
I hope CP can get some clarity from Amazon is they are losing business over this.
This kid will have a 2.6k refund soon, and he might well have spent that with CP but I'm not sure he will now.
Anyway, just wanted to pass that information on as I genuinely feel bad for anyone that has this happen.
The kid is still upset today, and if I can help somehow stop that (however small my part) I'll do it.
Cheers, guys
We had someone not too long ago on the discord, exact same boat as you, They sent it back to Amazon after stating it was defective, Amazon received it, and guess what? Less than an hour later it was already put back for sale on the site.
Disgraceful.
That's absolutely unacceptable and Amazon should be held accountable for that.
All I can recommend, is if he wanted to spend the money with Cyberpower (because they do sell great computers!) is do it direct via their site, Alot more customisation available, and you can rest assured knowing the PC is straight from quality control to you,
Amazon, I just cannot recommend them anymore
Yes, I agree.
If I'd been more involved early on I'd have suggested that
I suppose they trusted Amazon being such a big company and all
If you ask me, CyberpowerPC UK should just pull the systems from Amazon, but that's my personal opinion due to all these issues
It'll lose them customers, yes, but ultimately they have to think about the bigger picture here,
Amazon just shows itself to not give a crap about the consumer or the seller
I agree.
It's probably the only way.
I don't know if it's this specific SKU that is the issue, or there are others.
I have seen this happen to other prebuilts on the market, It seems to be a growing issue on Amazon
Because I can gurantee you, every single one of them refunded and told Amazon of the issue
Yet guess what, same system, gets sent back out to another customer
So, it seems there's clearly someone making a small fortune stealing these expensive CPU, refunding and repeating the process.
You'd think that would be traceable.
Thousands minimum
You'd think so, but obviously Amazon isn't willing to put in the man hours to do it
Well, the one is my friends computer was an i9 14900k, which is around 480-520 from what I can see.
£550 usually 😬
Yeah, sounds about right.
It really makes me angry that someone is just getting away with this.
We can be here to clarify any more questions but I would sort this out with CPUK directly because they can talk it out with Amazon
@tough walrus @pulsar sphinx well, thanks for your input, guys. Appreciate it.
No worries, any more queries feel free to pop em here 🙂
Will do.
👍
:tada: Congrats @trail comet, you levelled up to 2! :tada:
This is from another prebuilt
Not CPUK's
So it does seem to be an issue across the board
Atleast there is a discord server so people can gather information here
Yeah, someone's having a field day and Amazon are clearly totally clueless.
Clueless or don't care
@turbid grove < first person here to report CPU missing
Yeah, probably. I've a good mind to tell the kid to keep the current pc after he gets his money back but I don't want to see CP lose money if they aren't at fault
I think it is handled through Amazon, not sure though
Yeah, you're probably right.
Oh well, I suppose he just has to stay patient.
"Amazon's Choice" Prebuilt
Their fault for selling used computers 😂 (directed at Amazon of course)
probably also report it to cyberpower
Yeah worth taking a photo of the serial number on the pc and emailing it to cyberpower support just so they have a record
That way they can track if amazon sell the same system again
which they probably will
Yep, and it will go straight out for resale and it'll happen again.
ive seen people replace 4090 gpu boards with a lower tier card that uses the same cooler
My 4070 was used I bought from Amazon new (had weird marks on the fins)
Thankfully its gone now 😂
I'll never buy anything worth more than £50 from them again, and I know my friend definitely won't.
They are furious with the whole issue...and you don't even know the best part.
The week before Christmas they tried buying one in PC World Currys.
They ordered it in store, paid for it, and were told it would be in store the week after Christmas.
She rand up on the 27th and was told it was in store awaiting collection.
She went in there and after some faffing was told that, no, it wasn't in store and that it didn't exist.
I'll repeat, it didn't exist.
They don't sell that computer anymore.
Even though it was on their website.
She was almost speechless.
She left with nothing and had to tell the kid.
So, then, they ordered one off Amazon just before the weekend before New Year and that arrives missing the CPU.
This kid feels like someone or something is out to get him.
How do you explain that to a 12 year old who has been excited for weeks and told his friends his new computer was coming?
I genuinely think he'd give up on the whole thing if something went wrong again.
I feel so bad for them, and she was so angry at the utter incompetence and stupidity of everyone involved.
I'm going to try and help now and hopefully steer them towards a more reputable outlet.
I did suggest buying the components and building it ourselves, but they didn't seem too keen.
The thing is, CyberpowerPC UK, if bought directly have a great reputation, over 10 thousand reviews on Trustpilot and everything
It's Amazon that is throwing a spanner in
Yeah, I looked at their site and it looks fine.
No issues with me.
These are just regular people who aren't that tech savvy and thought a big company like Amazon was the safest bet.
When the refund comes through I'd suggest looking at a next day system from Cyberpower or contacting support with Cyberpower
Cheers, Verk.
Support from Cyberpower have been known in the past to do gestures of goodwill to those that suffered the inconveniences of Amazon in the past
They might be able to add on a quicker build on a custom one as a bonus
Yeah, I'm sure they'd appreciate that.

360mm rad
They want a 4080 though
Yeah, he's got his heart set on a 4080
yeah 4070 ti is a MONSTER of a card
Especially, with the i9 14900k
4080 is good for 1440p
a bit overkill for it tho
I dunno, 7800XT and 7900GRE are 1440p cards and they have 16gb of VRAM
Well, I'll perhaps mention it to him and see if he's willing to get something less OP for his resolution.
It'll really depend on what he's using it for, just gaming or?
The AMD one I sent is like almost £1000 cheaper and would be a beast at 1440p
I mean, 1440-144 doesn't really need a 4080 i9 combo
it doesn't sound as cool if he's trying to show it off tho haha
True, Mudkip
especially for kids at that age, you gotta show it off
No worries! 🙂
👍👍👍👍
Yeah but £1000 saved 😛
£1000 or 50% more coolness
And better ray tracing
you're now infamous for the CPU missing saga
7900GRE = 4070 performance
Personally won't ever recommend amazon for pc builds anymore just recommend the cyberpower website so you buy straight from them, amazon are just scammers
Their rma department is shocking or non existent
Well.... I just refunded a broken 4070 that was 4 months old
you just gotta complain
Damn that's a real shame reading about the Amazon saga - hopefully cyberpower can get some information as this is really bad PR and reputation damage. Personally I would never buy a PC (apart from a laptop/tablet) from amazon just in case of situations like this but would go straight to the retailer direct.
Hopefully the OP can get it resolved.
Unfortunately its happened a few times
Not sure if someone in the Amazon Warehouse is stealing cpus or if people are buying PCs taking the cpu and returning it and them Amazon are reselling without checking
People really desperate to sell parts for money if they are taking them and returning
Also not very smart as it's not like they can be traced duh.
Totally crappo operation by Amazon to not check, but maybe they don't know what they're looking for - they should be more aware now
Well I imagine they'd have to investigate to find out where the thefts are happening
I need to be paid for this famousness honestly, could make a decent little sub-wage
