Hi guys thank you for helping

snow burrow
#

To be honest, it sounds like something you would have to resolve with support

#

What is your powersupply?

lofty kettle
#

So yeah, as per the screen shot. When to turn on my pc this morning and it died

snow burrow
#

Ergh that feeling must suck.

snow burrow
lofty kettle
snow burrow
#

Interesting

lofty kettle
#

I’ve only had the pc since March this year

snow burrow
#

Well, the PC is still in warranty and will get sorted very fast.

#

I can assure you CPUK will take care of you with top tier support.

celest vapor
#

Wait, I'm confused, have you tried a different power cable?

graceful sphinx
#

No power at all to the pc?

snow burrow
#

Actually it might be some short circuit protection

graceful sphinx
#

Tried cmos?

snow burrow
#

Corsair PSUs do that I think

#

Yea do a CMOS

Resetting CMOS

:one: Shut down your PC and unplug the power cord from the wall.
:two: Locate the CMOS battery (see the image below). On some motherboards, you may have to remove the graphics card in order to access it.
:three: Remove the CMOS battery from the motherboard by pressing down on the clip and pulling the battery out.
:four: Hold down the case power button for three seconds while your PC is unplugged.
:five: Install the CMOS battery back into the motherboard and plug the power cord back into the wall.
:six: Plug in and turn on your PC.

A video guide is also available below

#

Jack I would do this first

#

the JBAT1 header

#

Short it with a screw driver for a few seconds and it will reset the CMOS and we can see, doesn't sound like they wanna go through the effort - unless you do.

graceful sphinx
#

Try the other cable if that dosent work, can try the above, if you're not comfortable in doing so advise waiting until you've spoken with cyberpower šŸ‘

snow burrow
#

Might need to know your motherboard to see the position of the header

#

If that doesn't work you can try the actual battery reset, that is 100% fool proof

snow burrow
#

Oh lovely

#

Dedicated CMOS clear on the motherboard rear IO

snow burrow
lofty kettle
#

Ok. I’ll look at trying these things.. I’m just worried about messing it up but I’m sure it’s quite easy

lofty kettle
#

I’ll try it now.

snow burrow
#

See the clear CMOS button?

#

Hold that for a few seconds.

#

With the power not in*

lofty kettle
#

I’ll just set all the wires up again.

snow burrow
#

Sounds good!

lofty kettle
#

So at the moment I have nothing connected.

#

Shall I just press and hold that button now?

#

With nothing connects

snow burrow
#

Yes

lofty kettle
snow burrow
#

Sounds good

lofty kettle
#

Now try to connect all cables and power up the pc?

snow burrow
#

Just with the power cord first.

#

No display or nothing

lofty kettle
#

Power tripped instantly before I could even press the power button on the front of the PC. Just tripped at the main trip board for the house

snow burrow
#

Have you got an extension lead?

lofty kettle
#

Yes. With surge protection

snow burrow
#

Is that the issue?

lofty kettle
#

No, as I have a tv attached to it as well

#

The tv works

celest vapor
#

Can you plug your PC directly into the wall? with a new power plug

#

just to test it

snow burrow
#

Yeah please use a new power plug

lofty kettle
lofty kettle
celest vapor
#

I mean PCs are designed to plug straight into the wall, that's not a problem

#

it's just to rule out the extension cord being a problem with the amount of power a PC uses

lofty kettle
#

Do I need to press and hold that little button again?

snow burrow
#

Probably not

celest vapor
#

I'd say just try turning it on

lofty kettle
#

Ok.. I will try the now power cord now and straight into the wall.

#

It blow the mains power to the house again. As soon as I tried to turn on the master switch at the back. Didn’t manage to try the front power button.

celest vapor
#

wtf

#

Yeah I'd say leave it, contact CPUK on Monday

#

Was that on the new plug?

lofty kettle
#

Yes

snow burrow
#

Thats odd

lofty kettle
#

Yep.

#

Was working Wednesday

celest vapor
#

Corsair PSUs are normally quite good

lofty kettle
#

The original cable, yes

snow burrow
#

Sorry that was a stupid question facepalm You have two cables?

lofty kettle
#

I got one cable from you guys and the other is a similar ā€œkettleā€ pc cable

snow burrow
#

No

#

Don't use that I think some are quite different

graceful sphinx
#

If it's blowing the mains to the house then it's likely an issue with the psu and needs replacing

snow burrow
#

^^

#

You will get it sorted next week, contact
