#Looking for next PC upgrade on a £2k budget - linked planned specs

Hi all,

This will be my second time ordering from Cyberpower after getting my first PC 3 years ago, however I didn't really plan for the future back then and am looking at doing a wholesale upgrade that will hopefully last me another 5-7 years.

This is a first draft build that I went with, got a couple of questions below: https://www.cyberpowersystem.co.uk/saved/5473629

  1. Does it need extra fans to match the PC in the image? (I always struggle with fans!). I am not too fussed with RGB so that's not a requirement for me at all.

  2. As mentioned I have a 2000 budget - are there any significant part downgrades/corresponding upgrades you would recommend? I am quite set on a 1TB SSD and a 2TB HDD as I've regularly hit my current 1.5tb total limit. Aside from gaming I also use the PC for recording music, for context. For gaming I have a 144hz 1440p monitor so that's what I'd be looking for gaming-wise.

  3. Will the above GPU/CPU combo comfortably last many years into the future? The amount of different brands providing 40xx series cards is quite overwhelming!

Finally, and this is more of a stab in the dark out of desperation - for the past 3 years I have had coil whine in my current GPU (2070 super) which I know is not indicative of a technical problem, but I would really like not to deal with it for another 3 years! So I suppose I'm asking if anyone has any knowledge of certain cards that are more susceptible to it, or if it can be induced by a PSU issue, do let me know and help me save my ears 🙂

Many thanks in advance

I'd personally recommend the following build, it does get rid of your 2TB HDD, however it does give you 4TB of NVMe storage split into two drives

If at all possible, always go for NVMe, as it is incredibly fast when compared to traditional SATA or HDDs

#

WIth regards to the coil whine question.. it is the unfortunate reality of PC components, especially high end ones

#

Included in the build I provided is a 360mm radiator to fill the case out too, this will make it look like the photos.

Thanks so much for taking a look, I’ll look at it properly a bit later

Wow, those all look great - thanks so much. I think this one is currently my preference https://www.cyberpowersystem.co.uk/saved/5473996 because of the upgraded CPU + GPU and the 4GB nvme. I don't know why but I wasn't really looking at RX cards - how does the RX7900 GRE stack up to the RTX 40xx series cards?

I think the 4070ti beats the 7900GRE, all of the builds I have listed feature the same CPU.

vast mural
# polar carbon

On that note - this would be my preference, but the 7900GRE is a great performer, and I think the one you prefer would do very well.

#

Any of the builds are great for what they are!

chrome horizon
#

Yeah I am now reconsidering, I can probably do away with that extra 2tb nvme and go for the 4070ti, that build looks really nice. Just needs a wireless card adding for me I suppose

All of the motherboards feature WiFi!

I'm not too familiar with PSU brands, is there in theory any major difference between that 850w inWin one and the Corsair one besides brand name?

Alright, thanks! One last question, and it doesn't really matter too much, but with those lian li built-in fans and the added 360mm AIO fans I assume they will permanently be spewing rainbows on my walls? 😄 Or do they come with a control? I currently have cooler master ones in my PC that came with a control but I always either turn it to a single colour or turn them off completely. Just for my understanding really, far from make or break
