oh k
.
1gb support I believe on the A520m-K
Let me see if it specifics if itās 2.4, 5, or both
Canāt see it on the mobos page itself lol
alr
It just specifies under its LAN that itās an RTL8111H
Thatās what I am eagerly trying to find for you lol
alr lol
Looks like the 2.4/5 stuff is mainly for WiFi
Ethernet is more dependant on using a cable that can support the speeds youāre looking at achieve
What speeds are on your plan currently?
It supports pretty much anything. You just need to use the right Ethernet cable that will allow your full internet speed to come through
I believe 5e can support gig lines
No
No!
Because Ghz is Wfi and nothing to do with ethernet
so is my ethernet port fast enough to play fortnite on 0 ping
5e should support your max speeds, FYsE
with a cat 5e cable
0 ping.. I mean good luck lolol
atleast creative tho
I have 550/70 with Ethernet and I get 6 ping
Youāll be absolutely fine with your internet using the Ethernet port
so then how fast is my ethernet port
Upto 1gig
is tht gd
if you have gigabit internet
Yep, your ping should be fine but upload and download speeds will depend on your internet provider
alright
It depends on your plan
now tht idk
But ultimately, having a wired connection means that your ping should be more stable than over wifi
ok now since i have a bad wifi extender
with my ping goes to lag 200
with stuters
can you recommend me a good cheap wifi extender
it's always best, if possible to be hard-wired to the router directly via ethernet
i cant do thaty
Powerline adapters? Not the best but an option
You could use a powerline adapter
Super easy to use. And gives a wired connection
ok can you recommend me the best cheap gaming powerline adapter and extender
:tada: Congrats @regal atlas, you levelled up to 3! :tada:
Ā£34 for one of those is pretty good
Especially the gigabit ones
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Tenda-AC6-AC1200-Wireless-Router/dp/B06X1CHFJ5/ref=asc_df_B06X1CHFJ5/?tag=g
this is 20 pounds
is this good?
Could go with a āslowerā speed because its hard to know what their speeds are
I... I probably wouldn't touch that router in my opinion
why
Think my powerline adapter was a TP-LINK AV600
I think your talktalk router would be better, if not the same as that
but this is an extender
An extender is normally something that sits halfway between your router, and where your setup is
my friend friends ahas this
That isn't an extender, that's a router
and he recommened me this one
To boost your connection
It has to be close enough to the router to get a good connection, for it to then re-broadcast that connection closer to your pc
Maybe something like that,
i have this one
ill show you wait
Honestly for computers, I recommend purchasing a powerline adapter if you cannot hard-wire straight to the router
WIFI can be a bit sketchy
As an example, my room where my pc is, is a deadzone
Hence why i went wired for pc
Ans then my old powerline adapter also acts a āsecondā router
and powerline uses exisiting power cabling within your house to transmit the connection
As i can connect to it via phone etc
Only problem is you arenāt guaranteed to get gigabit speeds even if your plan gives you that
I mean you can use it, I just would stick with your talktalk one,
this is true, it varies
I was getting around 80mbps with my powerline adapter
When my speeds were upto 900/900
I just have like a 30M flat CAT6 going from my router to my office, then into a switch which divides up to two setups
i wish i can connect ethernet straight to my router
thankfully I planned it when I first moved in before carpets and everything went down
Just had something similar to this installed. Cable is on the outside of the house, with 2 ethernet ports next to my router, then 2 upstairs for me and my brother
Powerline would be your best bet
Better than wifi
since i have a tp link
Thatās what I use
i dont trust tp link any more
Why?
cause my tp link extender is so baddddd
I mean, where is it
TP link are the go to for internet stuff more than often
Where is your extender plugged in?
right next to my pc
Thats why
It needs to be close enough to your router, and pc
The powerline adapter will be fine next to your pc tho
A āhalf way pointā
my pc dont even have wirless wifi
š
yh
Honestly a powerline adapter would be your best bet
ok
If you're wanting a slightly cheaper one,
but I recommend the £34 one
but what if i cant afford that
Then Iād save for one
Either way, the router you suggested will likely do nothing
ISP provided routers are absolutely fine and capable of the speeds you pay for
do i still need to buy a plan if i buy the tenda wifi router
its a gaming
probably
Plan?
You would use your current service via that router instead
But I donāt suggest a. New router
Nothing is wrong with your current router
hmm
Its just youāre too far away for a strong enough connection
alr ill think abt it
Its the same in my house
There is legit nothing wrong with your router,
Just save up for a powerline
problem solved

This is how the powerline stuff works btw
Easy setup
only thing I ever purchased a new router for, was the mesh layout
mesh internet or smthin
alr
