#New PC failure

:one: Download the driver for your GPU from the manufacturer's website using the links below, but don't install them yet.
:two: Download the latest version of DDU by clicking the button below, clicking on the top post which is called "Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) VXX.X.X.X Released", and clicking ***Official Download Here*** in that post.
:three: Disconnect from the Internet by unplugging your ethernet cable or turning off WiFi in the bottom-right corner.
:four: Open the program you just downloaded, choose a location for DDU to be saved, then click Extract
:five: Open the Start Menu, click the power icon then hold Shift on your keyboard and click Restart. Once your PC has restarted, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart, and press 4 to load into safe mode.
:six: Find the folder you extracted DDU into and open Display Driver Uninstaller.
:seven: On the right side, select the type as GPU, and the brand as the manufacturer of your GPU. Then, click 'Clean and Restart'.
:eight: Once you have loaded back into Windows, install the GPU drivers you downloaded earlier. Once they have installed, connect back to the Internet.
Try a DDU see if it helps if not it could be faulty GPU
If it is a faulty GPU, can always try onboard graphics if the CPU supports it
Just trying to follow the BOT instructions and the PC has booted with 1024*768 resolution, so i wonder if the onboard has kicked in. Thank you
That'll be because the drivers have been uninstalled, Is it a NVIDA graphics card or AMD?
If you have a discrete GPU then you need to plug your monitor cable into the graphics card, not the motherboard. This can be found on the Quick Start Guide which was emailed to you, or you can download it with the /tag guide command.
Plugged into the 7900xtx, yes
If you install the graphic drivers using that website
if you haven't already done that
Once the drivers are installed, you would right click on the desktop, Display Settings
and then scroll down to Display Resolution, and set it to your monitor's resolution
Just realised, it would've booted into that resolution because of safe mode
Just checking you followed all the steps before the graphic drivers, yeah?
Adrenaline says that the display drivers are up to date, but the monitor is connected to the microsoft basic display and wont allow display resolution to display. Ah well, thank you for trying
:tada: Congrats @spiral lake, you levelled up to 1! :tada:
Did you do all the steps? and then restart the system to get out of safe mode?
Yes, to the best of my knowledge
Hmmm
Graphics card RGB is on, connections seem solid
@opaque void save us, What do you think? Done DDU and he can only get Microsoft basic display adapter
after installing drivers
You would only really get the basic display adapter if there was no other drivers installed
Ok, so the GPU works?
A DDU and only Microsoft display driver, and while connected to the internet, no windows auto driver?
I don't think it's adrenaline doing this otherwise windows would of done something
The GPU sounds like its giving a display, but the only display driver that is available is the basic windows
which is
Yes, GPU seems to be powered and connected properly. I've checked in device manager and it also says most up to date drivers installed.
Sorry to be a pain, but would a full system reset then updating the drivers help?
hERE YOU GO
Well do a "restart" first (windows does this fast boot thing and it's really annoying because it can mess up some silly stuff)
Don't do a shutdown
I wouldn't go through windows personally, adrenaline says it is so we hope on a restart
Yes, adrenaline says its up to date
Restart time
Still no joy I'm afraid. Display still connected to Basic Display Driver and
I'll try the process listed above again later. Thank you for your help and I am sorry to have taken up your time 😔
Don't worry about it, that's what we're here for, its community support 🙂
Don't bother tbh
I maybe have something you can try
In adrenaline just reinstall the driver again
Really odd it won't stick
Ok, not sure what's going on but when I go into adrenaline and click into the driver's box, it's telling me that my APU is the AMD Radeon integrated graphics. Something must be wrong

Many reasons I buy from CPUK, computers are a huge PITA first month in ish
If your computer works over a year (that isn't AM5) it's probably good to go
Thanks both for your help - have a good weekend
You too! Email and you will probably send it off Tuesday if you are fast enough
/their response times are A tier, it's no different from texting
Just a courtesy update 🙂. Followed the DDU again and it worked, got Warcraft classic running for a good hour and all seemed ok, but just turned it on again and there's no picture reaching the monitor. P'C looks ace tho so will post a pic. I've emailed Cyberpower, and thanks for your advice
:tada: Congrats @spiral lake, you levelled up to 2! :tada:
Well I be damned
Enjoy! Sorry that I said don't bother 😅
Oh and uhh about that issue
Email CPUK
No I didn't I don't, it started off positive so
