Looking to Upgrade parts

Im looking to upgrade it to have a better CPU and a Nvidia 3060 but i am unsure about what would need to be replaced or upgraded to make this work. The motherboard is a Asus Prime A520M-K with a dual channel Any help would be appreciated and recommendations for parts are welcomed

Are you looking to stick to AMD? As if you were wanting to upgrade to Intel then it would be a new motherboard which is a bit more of a in-depth job.

One thing I notice is the 450W power supply, Eering on the side of caution I would highly recommend a higher wattage power supply, with a 3060 and a upgraded CPU, you'd be pushing the limits a tad with the current one, I always prefer to have some breathing room.

Depending on your budget, you could go for a 850e, which is a 80+ gold efficiency, fully modular power supply too, this would leave you plenty of room for future upgrades too, think future proofing it.

For the 3060, I highly recommend the GIGABYTE 3060 EAGLE OC, with 12GB of VRAM it's a really good card and handles any games well, I personally have it in my system,

You can always get these cheaper on the used market

For the CPU, this will depend on your budget,

I dont mind swapping cpu if it would increase the power of the pc to run alot of the modern games with high/ultra graphics

Then it'll vary with your budget for the upgrade, I could recommend a very good card, but this will also need an updated cooler etc

I dont really have a budget at the moment so it can be any price

Im looking to upgrade over a period of time with the most important parts first then the rest so it can be any price

Most importantly, I can always recommend a good power supply as a foundation, you don't want to skip out on the power supply and then find out if you put a demanding component in, the whole PC refuses to work,

450w is limiting, sure, we can put components in and they'll work, but its always better to have a higher rated one to have that wiggle room

Ill get the increased power supply to start off with since it seems the most important for future upgrades

I wouldn't go intel 3060 route

Just go 6650XT, used them in my friends build and it was £220 at the time for the MSI gaming X model on Amazon, good everything

Go for a 5600 if you have that power supply, that's a limiting factor, I would instead of the CPU get a good good PSU

The 6650XT you can buy from Amazon, they have good pricing and stock on MSI cards

You haven't given a budget so I can't really give more help

For this can i use the same ram i have currently in my computer?

I have 2 16 gig sticks in my current one

They are both ddr4 so im assiuming it wont be an issue

Most of the time it's not ideal to mix and match, they may be both ddr4, but there is differences in latency, speed etc

That pc only has 2 8 gig ram sticks

So if i take out the 2 8 gigs and replace them with the 2 16 gigs would it still be compatable
