#Issues using old computer as 2nd monitor
19 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
This is where I'm getting my steps from: https://www.hp.com/us-en/shop/tech-takes/how-do-i-use-laptop-as-monitor#:~:text=Go to the desktop or,the productivity uses mentioned above
This is on my PC that I want to connect it too
Have you clicked Optional Features there?
Looks like you need to add the Wireless Display feature
I added that like 10 minutes after sending it
I just can't get it working
The CPU in the computer is Intel Pentinum (released during 1993 I think) and can't run anything well.
Using it as a second monitor will be the best way to use it
Ok so I'm not going to use the wireless option
I've plugged a HDMI cable into my graphics card and into the old comptuer but it stays on windows
The computer is Lenovo IdeaCentre 310
Not possible I believe
Oh
Yeah laptop hdmi is out, and gpu hdmi is out, you'd need a capture card or something.
Laptops only have a HDMI out not in, there might be a 3rd party app you can use but with the age of your system I don't think it would handle it
Ok. Thanks for the help!
I can help give you monitor recommendations if you have the budget
It's all good, I was just seeing if I could use it as a second monitor and I don't really need it.
