#PC Turns on, 3 Beeps, No Signal on Monitor

Hi! I've had my PC for 4 months and have had this problem when booting on my PC today.

When I turn on my PC, it beeps 3 times (relatively long beeps) and I have no signal on my monitor despite my PC still running. I've tried:

  • Switching HDMI cables and making sure they're in the right ports
  • Switching the monitor itself
  • Switching power cable for monitor
  • Reseated GPU
  • Resetted CMOS
  • Cleaned RAM sticks and placed them back in.

Does anyone have any ideas on what to do next? This is a repost from yesterday as I thought I fixed the error with a new monitor but it stopped working after 30 minutes.

Thank you! :)

Run a memory test. There are a number of memory tests that you can run to test the RAM for errors. If the memory test finds errors, the RAM is probably defective and needs to be replaced.

How do I run a memory test without a monitor?

You said it stopped working after 30 minutes, so I assumed it only works for a short period of time when you turn it on.

Base 64K RAM Failure

There is a failure of some sort within the first 64KB of system memory.

The first bank of memory probably has a bad memory chip in it somewhere. It is also possible that there is a failure related to the motherboard or a system device as well.

Nvidia RTX 30 Series GPUs:
Try disabling CSM (Compatibility Support Module) in your BIOS, and make sure the boot mode is set to UEFI.

ASUS Motherboards:
1 Long + 2 Short: Anomaly detected in RAM.
1 Long + 3 Short: Anomaly detected in Graphics Card.

You could try using 1 ram stick at a time in each slot

#

Til one doesn’t work

Does anyone else have any solutions that I could try or should I contact Cyberpower directly on the website?

Thanks, it’s most definitely a graphics card issue, 1 long 2 short usually means graphics card error.

#

It could be faulty hardware, from doing a bit of research, it is possible for graphics card manufacturers' faults to appear after a few months of use.

#

Do you have a display port cable you could try?

Does the computer have integrated graphics?

All you need to do is plop the card inside the case, and then the DPD guy will zip tie the sides back up.

Yeah I was worried as well, cyberpower support said it should be fine without it. But it's always good to just in case. Depends on what you feel like

#

It's zip tied and everything, padded case. Pretty straightforward. They don't seem to be backed up or anything right now, so it should be pretty fast!
