Are you on windows 11, or windows 10?
11
Have you got any pending Windows updates?
No
Everything is updated. I check all the time. Nvidia was updated yesterday
Is core isolation turned on or off for you?
Not sure what that is 😅
:tada: Congrats @lost oar, you levelled up to 3! :tada:
type core isolation settings into windows
Did you type it into windows search
Ryzen 9 5900x
i'd check the minidump, you can read this file by downloading Bluescreen viewer
and inserting the Minidump file
Minidump location
C drive> Windows > Minidump
Yeah in that case you'd need to reinstall windows
If you are upgrading from Windows 10, you may need to enable TPM and Secure Boot in order to proceed with the Windows 11 installation - please follow the TPM & Secure Boot guide below first.
:warning: When reinstalling Windows, you will lose any files which are not backed up to the cloud or an external drive - please ensure any files you would like to keep are backed up before continuing.
:one: Click the button below and download the 'Create Windows 11 Installation Media' tool.
:two: Follow through the installation tool, and choose 'USB flash drive' when prompted. Your USB flash drive must be 8GB or greater.
:three: Once the tool has finished, shut down the PC you're installing Windows on and insert the USB drive.
:four: Next, repeatedly press the following key while your PC is turning on, depending on your motherboard:
ASUS/ROG: F8
Aorus/Gigabyte: F12
MSI/ASRock/Cyberpower: F11
Then choose your USB drive from the list to boot from it.
:five: Follow through the installation tool. When it asks for your product key, click Skip - your PC will automatically reactivate. Make sure to select the same Windows version as you ordered with your PC, then choose a Custom installation.
:six: Select the drive in which you would like to install Windows on (you will want to install Windows on your SSD, this is typically a smaller drive), delete any partitions which already exist and then select Drive # Unallocated Space, and click Next.
:seven: Once your PC restarts, you will be taken to the first-time setup screen, where you can setup your user account and preferences.
Okay Thanks
I assume ill lose all my files from the hard drive that has windows installed on
Yes you will. Back any important files up, Games etc can be deleted because you can redownload those
I have a few other hard drives installed would it be fine to transfer everything to one of them?
You may be wise to just delete what's on all of them, windows sometimes throws a fit about drives between OS's especially windows 11
Make sure you name your C drive something you will remember so when you delete it in the format you know which one is your SSD
Not sure to do this as ill lose important files and i have no way of transferring them
Is it just documents or applications?
Documents
Plus ive never reinstall windows before and i dont want to make my situation worse. Really not happy after paying 3k for a pc thats had problems since the start.
Windows unfortunately does this sometimes, it can happen to basically any PC
Windows self corrupts a lot
You could just try and reinstall the windows drive and leave the other drives alone, should be fine
Okay well my ssd is called windows and ill need to transfer my stuff over to a different harddrive
Im just unsure about installing. Dont have a clue on what to do.
The instructions are above, i can walk you through it if you want
Just don't drag files from the X86 folder, documents are fine
Same code?
Cache manager?
Think so
:tada: Congrats @lost oar, you levelled up to 4! :tada:
Yeah that's an issue from the windows install, Have you got a USB for creating a USB bootable media
The installer will wipe the USB
Its only doing it when im transferring my files
Yeah well unfortunately that's the case, you will have to consider whatever is on that drive a loss unfortunately
Another laptop to create the installer or PC?
I'd avoid it to be honest,. if windows is acting up, Will be quicker on a different machine
still welcome to try it on this PC to create the installer

Press download media creation tool
Open it,
You'll need your USB plugged in ^
Usb is already in 💯
Okay, will do once i get this file on my other ssd
This one is important 😅
Nearly done
Are you sure this will help, many suggestions online saying its a memory related issue.
Memory related you would have had a Memory management BSOD by now
always wise to clear software related faults from the equation before narrowing down potential hardware
Takes a while, as it has to download the entire OS,
depends on the USB speed and your internet
Usb is old 😅
Lets be considerate and say 10-15 mins
I did order a recovery usb with the system but never received it
66%
Its creating the windows 11 media now.
@hearty field i have windows on my usb
if you refer to step 4 that will help you
Just follow that through now, click the right langauge etc
then click on custom installation when you get to that page
Apparently it cant run Windows 11
:tada: Congrats @lost oar, you levelled up to 5! :tada:
Do you have tpm and secure boot enabled?
You sure you was on Windows 11 before?
Yes im sure
It shouldn't give you that error if you was on it before
I had the same error when I did mine you need to make sure tpm and secure boot are enabled in bios
How do you do that?
Msi
On boot up Press delete to enter the BIOS
One second I'll help now just putting some food in the oven
Are you on a bios screen like this one?
@lost oar
Okay great
Which one?
custom
Now i select my ssd
Its installing now
This has been a stress night 😩😅
Its now installing on my original ssd. Really hope this fixes it
@hearty field @lusty wigeon can I delete Windows.old?
