This board?
ye i think thats the one
This doesn't have an M.2 slot as far as i'm aware
ok but will i be able to add something like an ssd to it
Kingston SSDNow A400 240GB SATA 3 Solid State Drive for example something like this
You'd be able to add a SATA SSD providing you have enough sata ports. How many drives do you have at the moment?
2
np 🙂
do u know how i can put the ssd in? like where would it be on that motherboard?
That's your SATA ports. you may need to order some sata cables from amazon
Then sata power comes from your power supply
ah i see
Make sure you have room to mount your SSD otherwise you can do the crude way of just shoving it into any spare gap you have in the basement of your case..
Some cases may have internal SSD mounts in the main compartment
Depending on how much money you have i'd stay away from the a400 drives
Yes they will work
How much extra storage do you need and or budget for one?
probably around 500gb ish and not much of a budget
just wanted to get one cuz of the black friday deals
That's probably one of the best budget drives you can get 🙂
whats wrong with the a400 ones
They have a high failure rate
ah
Its up to you, but if you have extra budget for a 500GB that's what i'd go for
yea ill probably get this one
:tada: Congrats @austere hearth, you levelled up to 6! :tada:
if u aren't moving ya case much, just leave it on top or near the SSD u already have in there, looks like theres some mount near the PSU area
Ye but I’m now struggling to find the cable from the power supply to put into the ads
Ssd
I’m not sure how to get the cable I want
Actually it’s fine it’s all done
Just for future reference there's a couple of thumbscrews at the back of the case, then the panel slides off towards the back 🙂
I’ve taken the thumbscrews off but still finding it very hard to take it off
How can I slide that off with little to no grip
Pull on this handle here
That's the only way really, you could try sliding the panel as well as pulling on the back, make sure that you're sliding towards the back too
