sounds like something is hitting the fans
I can’t see anything
check around all your fans make sure no loose cables are getting tapped
thats a pretty close shave too
just double over and check nothing is being eaten up
Ok I have blown the area and cleaned will have another look
as for cables what you see is what they built, i have not moved anything
:tada: Congrats @strange yew, you levelled up to 6! :tada:
do you know exactly which cooler it is?
if you check your confirmation email, it'll list the MSI cooler
does it have V2 in the name or not?
no
just MSI Coreliquid 240mm?
ah. i cannot remember if the 360mm were recalled as well as the 240mm. the liquid was bad so they were issuing free replacements to the V2. Let me double check
@alpine knot not sure if you're around to clarify, or @woeful zinc?
msi coreliquid 360r 360mm rgb liqid cooler
Lets check if these guys are around to clarify as they're direct employees and will know for sure
ive had to noise from day dot but usally went after 10 seconds but now its just constant and really annoying i cant see anything in its way
but yes there not the msi fans that come with it
how please, im not clues up with pc
Shoot tech an email and they can check the order number Monday morning to see if you are affected
clued
Download either the Installer or Portable version
For temperatures, run in Sensor Only mode.
yup or if easier run a 3dmark, it'll stress test the system and if the temps are bad, it'll be clear in the results
Please Note: Purchasing the paid version of 3DMark is not necessary, you can download the free version by clicking 'Download Demo'.
now we know its a V1, id be somewhat confident to say its the pump head and the crackling noise is going to be the liquid corroding and blocking the passages the liquid goes through
im downloading 3dmark demo
i would email tech support and get a v2 out
:telephone: 03333-237776, Option 2
:e_mail: support@cyberpowersystem.co.uk
:clock3: Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm
Please ensure to include your order number, the issue you are facing and any steps you have already taken to try and fix the issue.
we can help you install it too, its pretty easy with the right instructions!
am i expected to fit it then...oh dear
knew you'd say that!! hahaha
it'll just be some screws here and there, probably a bit of fidgeting, nothing too complex
if your temps aren't throttling, a little here and there won't hurt. but if it does throttle i'd suggest not using it in case it damages the CPU at all
i hardly use it, will this 3dmark tell me that info
yeah
when you finish the timespy, click compare results online and send over the link here
thank you will nudge you when its downloaded
no problems.
launch
then click timespy
when it starts, just leave your PC alone for a few minutes. if it crashes at all, im 99% sure it'll be because of temps
how do i share results
get HWinfo downloaded then and show us what temps you're at on that
Download either the Installer or Portable version
For temperatures, run in Sensor Only mode.
i dont see any app
when you go on the link in that command, click here
when its download, run the setup wizard
then click sensors only
then scroll down to the CPU temperatures like this and send a screenshot
oh they're not bad at all
@woeful zinc caught me by surprise lol
can ya try loading up a game spirit?
and see if they spike high?
like i said hardly use it, play a little destiny 2 and watch twitch lol
load up destiny, give it a minute and send another SS
Clicking isn't necesarrily a problem but is something worthing keeping an eye on
do i have to close app and reopen or leave it open
you can leave it open
its annoying clicking though, i cant game with that in my ear
im guessing you might just have some air in there then
try resting your PC on its side for a few hours turned off, might release the air
but i dont think you have anything to worry about here
pc runs lovely i just dont like this noise, like i said its done it from day dot on boot up but went after 10 seconds now its all the time
you can try to angled rest, im just assuming there is a small air bubble in there somewhere
ive never seen my cpu above 60
yeah thats a good thing. you probably wont throttle until 85+
i even didnt use it in summer lol
surely i shouldnt have to live with this noise though
i will email support then, cause this is going to drive me crazy
Yeah do so, since it’s V1 it may be classed as faulty
so apparently not all v1 are faulty, but they are willing to do a straight swap at my door, but dont know if i can trust myself to remove the old one.. my pc has been off for 24hrs now. literally just turned it on and its as quiet as a mouse.. i dont know the best thing to do going forward (confused)
yeah i wasn't 100% sure if all of them were, i know a large majority were. If yours has given signs of being faulty then it will be best to swap and be safer than sorry later
do you know for how long the exchange would be offered to me though.. just not sure im ok with disconnecting it myself
You would unscrew these 4 screws
Unscrew all the fans and the radiator
Gently wiggle the Pump off the CPU and you’re basically done
Uninstalling a CPU cooler comes with risks—you can accidentally damage your CPU if you're not careful. In this video, Alaina explains how to remove one safely.

Buy The Full Nerd shirts on ...
here is a tutorial too
so all the wires that are connected to the fans and leds i would just disconnect and leave in the pc case
and the offer im not sure. i suppose indefinite since its a recalled product
the wires attached to the pump you would remove as its built in
the fans you should take out so you can add them onto the new radiator
makes sense..
you'll just be reconnecting them in exactly the same place
r.e that video, ignore the bent pins bit. that is unlikely to happen. just the removal of the pump head is what you'll need to do
silly question but where does the coller get its power from. caus ei was looking to disconnect it yeasterday to see if that was the issue, but the odd lead i saw and discoonected were little 3 pin plugs, i assume all i done was disconnect the led on the pump head
there ya go
you should take pictures of it if you're not 100% sure of where it all goes so you can reference it putting it back on
that wire i chased yesterday went into the back into like an adaptor with multipe 3 pin plus in it
are you intel or amd?

both inter / amd tutorials there
yes intel
so i was advised by customer support to run occt, got the below results. noise happens once gpu hits above 40, not as bad as previous video but still exists
this is what i experience now, pretty much everytime i play a game.. not as bad as original video but still present
Sent pc back for repair receiving back today, very fast turnaround. Cpu cooler at fault will update on pc arrival. After all I’ve read about msi v1 coolers they should never have been sold, my serial number on msi website was not one of the batch that was faulty but clearly was
Yeah guess MSI wouldn’t of picked up every single one so you’ve had a patch of bad luck, sorry to hear that. At least the guys at CP will get it sorted for you ASAP. I think everyone was baffled at how the V1’s got through QA
Agreed can’t wait to get pc back, weird but felt lost without it. Thanks for your help ❤️
